The manufacturer information available here identifies the category but does not provide a verified step-by-step fault tree, so avoid guessing at internal repairs or treating filter replacement as a universal fix.
If an ezH2O bottle filler shows an error
Bottle-filler error indications have separate Elkay guidance, distinct from the no-water-flow topic. Record the model number and the exact displayed indication, then consult Elkay’s ezH2O Bottle Filling Station Error Codes instructions. Do not infer a cause from the presence of an error alone; the applicable meaning and response are model-specific.

Check whether your model is filtered before replacing a filter
Elkay sells both filtered and non-filtered fountain configurations. Check the model documentation and configuration before ordering a cartridge or kit: a filter may not be installed or supported on every fountain, and the EWF3000 is not established as compatible with every Elkay model.
For model LZWS-EDFPBM114K, Elkay describes a WaterSentry filter rated for 3,000 gallons and certified to NSF 42 and 53 for reduction of lead, Class 1 particulate, chlorine, taste, and odor. Those capacity and certification claims describe that documented configuration; they should not be generalized to all Elkay fountains. Elkay also lists the “EWF3000 Genuine WaterSentry Universal Filtration Kit – 3000 Gal.” as an accessory for an outdoor fountain product, but fit still needs to be confirmed against the specific model documentation.
