The west-side concrete spiral in Disneyland’s Esplanade is fenced off, with pavement removal squeezing guests through a narrow passage, according to MiceChat’s 2026 Disneyland update. The report does not establish whether the spiral’s distinctive caged evergreens or floral light fixtures will be retained. This is a west-side construction report—not confirmation that the work is part of Disney’s separate eastern Esplanade parking and arrival project.
What is happening at the west Esplanade spiral?
MiceChat reports that construction walls surround the concrete spiral near the Porto’s construction site while pavement is being removed. The work has narrowed the guest route to a passage beside the site. MiceChat also reported that vertical construction at Porto’s had not started when it observed the area; that is a time-specific observation, not a current construction-status guarantee.

The spiral is a recognizable feature of the resort entrance. MiceChat notes its metal-caged evergreens and floral light fixtures, but says their fate has not been announced. There is no confirmed information in the cited reporting that these elements are being demolished or preserved.

- Expect a narrower-than-usual route along the west side of the Esplanade near the spiral and Porto’s site.
- Follow posted signs and cast-member directions; construction walls and guest routing can change as work progresses.
- Allow extra time to pass through the Esplanade, particularly if arriving with a stroller or mobility device. No measured width for the west-side passage is reported.
These observations come from MiceChat’s Disneyland update. Conditions are temporary and may have changed since that report.

How is this different from Disney’s eastern Esplanade work?
Disney’s official visitor guidance describes changes on the east side of the Esplanade, not the west-side spiral work. In an update published September 17, 2026, Disneyland Resort said east-side ticket booths would be removed and East Security screening would temporarily move to that location. Disney also warned that construction walls may require temporary walkway adjustments. Check the official Disneyland Resort construction and experience updates before your visit for current arrival information.
Separately, Disney describes an east-side parking and transportation hub connected by a pedestrian bridge over Harbor Boulevard to a new Esplanade arrival experience. Disney Experiences says the hub is planned to include approximately 6,000 parking spaces and gives August 24, 2026, as the project groundbreaking date. Those details concern the eastern project; the cited sources do not confirm that the west spiral work is part of it. See Disney Experiences’ project description.

What remains unconfirmed about the spiral?

Until Disney or another authoritative project source announces those details, the responsible conclusion is that the feature’s future is unknown.
