The figure came from former NBA player Chandler Parsons, who said Doncic had “just closed.” But Doncic’s business manager was reported to say the home was still under contract and closing was expected weeks later. The available accounts do not establish whether that deal eventually closed.
Where did the $15 million claim come from?
On February 3, 2025, Realtor.com reported that Parsons had said on FanDuel’s Run It Back that Doncic had recently closed on a Dallas home for $15 million. Realtor.com quoted Parsons: “This dude bought a $15 million house, just closed, like, last week in Dallas,” Parsons claimed. “Apparently, he cried when he found out.” Parsons did not identify the property or provide details that would verify the reported price or transaction. Realtor.com’s report said Doncic’s spokespersons did not respond to its repeated requests for comment.
What Doncic’s business manager said about the purchase
A February 4 report by OutKick, relaying an account from The Dallas Morning News, offered a different timeline. Business manager Lara Beth Seager said Doncic had been purchasing a home in the area for himself and his family. Her account described a purchase in progress, not a completed closing: “As Luka said yesterday, he expected to spend his career in Dallas. He had been in the process of purchasing a home in the area for himself and his family,” Seager told The Dallas Morning News. The report said Doncic was under contract and expected to close in a few weeks. OutKick’s report relays Seager’s statement; it is not a direct transcript of the original newspaper article.
That distinction matters: being under contract is not the same as having bought a home. A February 4, 2025 report from Weekly Real Estate News characterized the $15 million purchase story as untrue as stated, citing USA Today Sports reporting that property records showed no recent home purchase and separate reporting that Doncic was still in the process of investing in a house. Weekly Real Estate News did not establish what happened to the contract later.

What is known about Doncic’s Dallas home
Realtor.com reported that property records listed Doncic on the deed of a home in Dallas’s Preston Hollow neighborhood and said he bought it in June 2020 for $3.3 million. Weekly Real Estate News, citing USA Today Sports, reported a $3.7 million price for that same home. Those secondary accounts disagree, so neither figure should be treated here as a settled purchase price.
The existing Preston Hollow property does not verify Parsons’s separate claim about a new $15 million home. The accounts reviewed do not identify the alleged new property, establish its final sale price, or say whether the contract closed, was canceled, or otherwise ended.

How the home story intersected with the Lakers trade
The Los Angeles Lakers–Dallas Mavericks trade was announced on February 2, 2025, after league approval. The three-team deal sent Doncic to the Lakers and Anthony Davis to the Mavericks. The Associated Press reported that negotiations were conducted in secret and that Doncic did not know about the trade beforehand. The AP account describes the secrecy surrounding the deal; it does not resolve the home contract’s status.
