Identify your La Specialista model before troubleshooting
Check the model number on the machine’s rating label and match it to the support page and manual for your region. For example, the EC9355.R is a La Specialista Prestigio with its own Prestigio support page. Arte machines have a separate help center. Button sequences, indicator meanings and troubleshooting steps are not established as universal across the product family.
De’Longhi’s La Specialista help center groups common issues by symptom, including no espresso delivery, slow delivery or dark crema, flashing lights, grinder problems and descaling. Start with the page or troubleshooting table for your exact model.
No espresso coffee is delivered, or it comes out too slowly
Use the model-specific troubleshooting table rather than assuming one cause or fix. De’Longhi lists both “No espresso coffee is delivered” and slow delivery or dark crema among its La Specialista help topics, but the cited help-center material does not establish a single remedy for every model.

As a model-specific example, the EC9555 manual associates dark crema or slow delivery with reviewing preparation settings. Follow that manual’s troubleshooting entry if your machine is an EC9555; do not treat it as a general instruction for all La Specialista models. If the symptom continues after the checks in your manual, contact De’Longhi support.
Why are the lights flashing, or why is the descale light still on?
Indicator meanings and responses vary by model. Consult the indicator guide in the matching manual before pressing buttons or restarting a process. The La Specialista Arte help center specifically covers flashing lights and a descale light that stays on after descaling, but the available guidance does not establish one reset sequence for the whole range.

Why won’t the grinder work?
For the EC9555, De’Longhi’s manual lists foreign matter in the grinder as one possible cause. It describes emptying and cleaning the hopper, then contacting customer service if the problem persists. Use that procedure only if it matches your model’s manual; avoid internal disassembly or reaching beyond the user-maintenance steps described there.
Descale the machine and complete the rinse
Descaling frequency depends on local water hardness. De’Longhi’s US Opera FAQ says the descale indicator signals that descaling is needed, recommends EcoDecalk, and estimates a cycle of roughly 20 minutes. Its instructions include running the descaling solution and then rinsing with fresh water. Follow the instructions for your own machine and the descaler’s label; unsuitable descaler or an incorrect procedure may cause faults that are not covered by the guarantee, according to the FAQ.

If an EC9555 asks for another rinse, its manual says this can happen if the tank was not filled to MAX during the rinse. Repeat the rinse as that manual directs. This explanation and procedure are specific to the EC9555 and should not be substituted for another model’s instructions.
De’Longhi’s Opera descaling FAQ names EcoDecalk as its recommended descaler. Use it only according to the exact machine manual and product label.

When to contact De’Longhi service
Stop at the documented user checks if the fault remains; do not open the appliance to investigate. The EC9555 manual advises contacting customer services when its troubleshooting steps do not resolve a problem. For Prestigio owners, the official support page provides contact options and an authorized service-center finder. Owners of other models should use the support route for their exact model and region.
