Start by identifying your De’Longhi machine’s exact model on its rating label or in its instruction manual. Then choose that model’s page in the De’Longhi Help Center and follow its instructions. Indicator lights and maintenance steps differ by model and machine family, so a code or reset that works for one machine may not apply to yours.
Find the right model instructions first
De’Longhi makes automatic and manual espresso machines, drip coffee makers, moka appliances, Nespresso machines, and other products. Start support searches with the product number shown on the machine’s rating label or in its manual; the Help Center lets you search by product number. Confirm the full model name before interpreting a light, cleaning a component, or starting a maintenance cycle.
Use the model-specific support page and manual for the exact symptom. For example, the Magnifica Evo ECAM29X.2Y/ECAM29X.3Y support page lists “The coffee is not hot enough,” “The coffee delivered is watery,” and “I want an explanation of the error lights” as separate topics. Dedica Arte has its own topic for “No milk froth is formed when making cappuccino” and “The machine does not function and all the lights flash.” These are not universal instructions for other De’Longhi models.
If the machine does not deliver coffee or espresso
Begin with checks that do not require opening the machine. Manuals for different De’Longhi models list overlapping causes, but the controls and procedures vary, so use the manual for your specific model.

- Check the water supply. Make sure the tank contains water and is seated firmly in its place.
- Check removable coffee components. If your manual permits it, remove and rinse the filter or portafilter components. Clear visible residue without probing internal passages or forcing a part into place.
- Check the circuit indicator. Some models indicate that the water or steam circuit needs attention. Follow the displayed prompt in your manual; some La Specialista models direct users to activate the button associated with the circuit indicator.
- Review coffee settings. On applicable manual espresso machines, grind that is too fine or an unsuitable dose can affect delivery and extraction. Follow the model’s grind and dose guidance rather than applying a universal adjustment.
- Consider limescale. If the machine calls for descaling, carry out the model’s documented process using a suitable product.
Do not force the portafilter, dismantle the machine, or try to clear internal passages. If the documented checks do not restore delivery, consult De’Longhi support or the service route specified for your model.
If coffee flows slowly or looks weak or watery
Slow flow, fast flow, weak coffee, and watery-looking coffee are not interchangeable symptoms. For manual espresso machines, De’Longhi troubleshooting guidance points users to review settings, grind, and dosage when flow or crema is not right. Automatic machines have different controls and support steps; use the model’s coffee-quality guidance rather than changing settings based on advice for another family.

For Magnifica Evo ECAM29X.2Y/ECAM29X.3Y, De’Longhi lists “The coffee delivered is watery” as a distinct support topic. Follow that model’s guided steps and manual instead of assuming that a grind adjustment applies.
If the descale light stays on
De’Longhi says the red descale light means descaling is required. The alert is based on water use and the machine’s configured water-hardness setting; harder water can lead to more frequent alerts. Check the setting and descale instructions in your own model’s manual.

If the warning remains after a descale cycle, De’Longhi says the process may have been skipped, interrupted, or completed too quickly. Its guidance for a descale light that remains on recommends repeating the rinse with water only and filling the tank to MAX for the final two rinses. Follow the full instructions for your model; additional steps may apply. For La Specialista Prestigio EC9355, La Specialista Arte EC9155/EC9255, and La Specialista EC9335, De’Longhi specifies an extra beverage-dial step after the final rinse.
Use only a descaler and procedure approved for your machine. De’Longhi warns that an unsuitable descaler or incorrect descaling may cause faults not covered by the manufacturer’s guarantee. The company recommends a suitable descaling solution and links to its EcoDecalk descalers; check your model’s manual for product and process compatibility.

If lights flash or the machine will not function
Do not interpret a flashing pattern as a universal De’Longhi error code. The meaning depends on the model and the combination of indicators. De’Longhi provides an error-light topic for Magnifica Evo ECAM29X.2Y/ECAM29X.3Y and a separate all-lights-flashing topic for Dedica Arte. Look up your exact model’s support page and manual, then follow the listed procedure. If the instructions do not resolve the fault, contact customer care or use the authorized service route.
If coffee is not hot enough or milk will not froth
Temperature and milk-frothing symptoms also require model-specific guidance. Magnifica Evo support lists “The coffee is not hot enough,” while Dedica Arte support lists “No milk froth is formed when making cappuccino.” Use the guided steps for the exact model rather than applying a temperature, steam, or cleaning procedure from another machine. If the model’s documented steps do not help, contact De’Longhi support.

When to contact De’Longhi service
Contact De’Longhi customer care or an authorized service provider when the exact model’s documented checks and procedures fail, or when its manual directs you to service. The Help Center is the starting point for model support; avoid internal repairs that the manual does not authorize.
