DASH identifies this model as the DMIC100. Its half-pint capacity is intended for a single serving rather than a family-size batch. A chute lets you add mix-ins during churning. DASH lists ice cream, gelato, sorbet, frozen yogurt, and slushes among the desserts it can make; the product page also lists a recipe guide and instruction manual as included materials. The listed dimensions are 6.9 × 5.9 × 7.2 inches, and the listed weight is 2.6 pounds. These are manufacturer-published specifications; the product page does not state a publication date.
Does the bowl need to be frozen before use?
Yes. DASH says to freeze the cooling bowl for 24–48 hours before making a batch. The DMIC100 manual also says to keep the bowl upright in the freezer. Chilling the ingredients for two hours is recommended, and the manual cautions against using room-temperature ingredients. Because the bowl needs a long pre-freeze, plan ahead and keep it ready in the freezer if you expect to make dessert on short notice. The machine does not replace the freezing step.
How to make a batch
- Freeze the bowl: Place the cooling bowl upright in the freezer for 24–48 hours.
- Chill the ingredients: DASH recommends chilling them for two hours; do not use room-temperature ingredients.
- Assemble and start the maker: Set up the appliance and switch it on so the paddle is moving.
- Add the mixture through the chute: Pour ingredients in only after the paddle starts. The manual warns that adding them first can cause the mixture to freeze against the bowl wall.
- Churn: DASH describes the process as taking about 20 minutes. The manual’s vanilla recipe gives a 20–25 minute churn time. These are manufacturer estimates and recipe directions, not independent performance-test results.
- Serve or firm: Serve the churned dessert as soft serve, or transfer it to a freezer-safe container for a firmer texture.
Will it make hard ice cream or soft serve?
The immediate result is soft serve. DASH’s manual states, “Even when prepared properly, the ice cream will have the consistency of soft serve.” To firm the dessert, transfer it to a freezer-safe container and freeze it longer. For the manual’s recipe directions, DASH suggests roughly 2–4 hours; its troubleshooting advice says 2–3 hours or until the desired consistency. The time needed can depend on how firm you want the dessert.
Does the title’s offer include two bowls?
DASH’s product page presents both one-bowl and two-bowl selections, but that alone does not confirm what a particular retailer listing includes. Before buying an offer described as “with (2) Bowls,” check the listing’s selected configuration, product description, and included-items list. Do not assume a marketplace offer includes two bowls based only on the product name or a general manufacturer page.
Cleaning and electrical details
The mug and cooling bowl are not dishwasher safe. Wash the freezer container by hand with warm water, mild detergent, and a soft sponge or cloth, then let it dry fully. Avoid sharp objects or utensils inside the cooling container. For storage, remove the cooling bowl from the motor before putting the bowl in the freezer; do not put the other parts in the freezer or refrigerator. These care instructions come from the DMIC100 manual.
