What the latest construction timeline says
Henrico’s October 8, 2026 update says construction is well underway and targets opening in fall 2027. That is a projected season, not a confirmed date. Earlier public targets shifted: the county’s 2025 announcement and annual report pointed to summer 2026, while WWBT reported in April 2026 that the expected opening had moved to late spring or early summer 2027. The newest county target is fall 2027. Henrico County’s October 2026 update; WWBT’s April 2026 report; Henrico County’s 2025 announcement
Planned capacity and levels of care
The county’s 2025 project announcement describes 60 beds, divided into 10 for detoxification or withdrawal management and 50 for short-term residential treatment. Residential stays may be up to 30 days, and the county says bed allocation can flex in response to need.
