What is being built at The Trails?
Trails at the Parkway is a shopping center planned for the entrance to The Trails, a master-planned community near the Grand Parkway and Plum Grove Road. Castle Hill Partners, the community developer, describes the center as large-scale, but its September 18, 2026 update does not state its building area or provide a final site plan. The retail center is part of a broader development. The Houston Chronicle reported in 2026 that The Trails spans 1,373 acres and is planned for 2,000 homes. Castle Hill Partners describes more than 2,000 homesites at completion and nearly 600 acres of nature trails and undeveloped land; the Chronicle likewise reported 600 acres of wooded land for outdoor recreation. Trails Market is a separate project
In its September 2026 update, Castle Hill Partners said Fidelis acquired an additional 11.6 acres for Trails Market, a separate project intended to bring more retail and dining to the community. The update does not give a tenant roster or construction timeline for Trails Market. The 11.6 acres should not be counted as part of the original Trails at the Parkway site.

The construction start moves the project beyond the initial land-acquisition stage, but the published details still do not establish what businesses will occupy the center or when it will open.
What is confirmed—and what is not
- Confirmed: Construction has begun on Trails at the Parkway, and Fidelis acquired 11.6 additional acres for the separate Trails Market project.
- Not announced: Trails at the Parkway tenants, anchor businesses, center square footage, final site plan, and opening or completion date.
- Also not announced: Trails Market tenants or a development schedule.
Castle Hill Partners vice president of asset management Tiffany McMillan said the community’s “second phase is fully committed to builders, new retail is taking shape at our entrance, new amenities are under construction and important infrastructure improvements are now complete.” The statement describes progress across The Trails; it does not identify retail tenants or give a schedule for the shopping center.
