Why the project is being built
The project announcement says a 2023 City of Fort Worth Stockyards Traffic Study found severe parking overcapacity and circulation problems in the district core, particularly on Ellis Avenue, Exchange Avenue, and Northwest 25th Street. It says the study recommended improving parking utilization and using west-side parking resources to distribute demand. The underlying study and its methodology are not available in the cited coverage, so those findings are attributable to the announcement rather than independently verified here.
The announcement estimates that the Stockyards receives approximately 10 million visitors annually. It does not provide the method or underlying data for that estimate. Fort Worth Business Press announcement
