The Campboks is a removable camper-in-a-box kit designed to turn certain midsize vans into a temporary mini-RV. Its reported layout combines a sliding kitchen and storage with a folding bed, a picnic-style table and benches, and a shower attachment. What the Campboks camper-in-a-box includes
The module is arranged around sliding sections that extend into the van or toward the tailgate. In the reported configuration, the driver-side slide is the cooking station, while passenger-side and center slides provide storage. The package was reported to weigh 309 lb (140 kg), with a 440 lb (200 kg) load capacity for the relevant slide.
Kitchen and water
- A worktop, flip-up sink and faucet, and a shower attachment.
- A single-burner Primus stove; the report does not identify a specific model.
- A 15-L refrigerator.
- Two 12-L fresh-water canisters in the center tunnel.

Storage
The passenger-side slide carries three Euroboxes for items such as cookware, food, dishes, or other gear. A separate center slide opens into the van and adds three more boxes. A Boxio dry separating toilet or sink system can replace one or more of those crates, according to the report; the toilet is an optional accessory, not an integrated full bathroom.

Bed and picnic area
The folding bed can form an A-frame lounge arrangement and then pull flat for sleeping. Sliding benches and a central table create a picnic-style setup for two to four people, with the table and benches also usable at the tailgate. The report says the interior lounge seats do not comply with road-travel seating regulations, so they are for camping while parked—not passenger seating while driving.
Which vans does Campboks fit?
New Atlas names the VW Transporter, Mercedes-Benz V-Class and Vito, and Renault Trafic as examples of European-market midsize vans the system was designed for. - Fit: Is the module approved for your van’s exact generation and layout?
- Installation: How is it secured, and what tools or help are needed to install or remove it?
- Sleeping: What are the flat bed’s dimensions, and how much space does its setup leave for other occupants or gear?
- Kitchen and water: What is included, and what else is needed to use the sink, shower attachment, stove, or refrigerator?
- Dining: Does the table-and-bench arrangement work for your group, both inside and at the tailgate?
- Payload: How does the reported 309 lb (140 kg) module weight, plus people and packed gear, compare with your vehicle’s payload limits?
- Travel safety: Which seats, if any, are approved for use while the van is moving?
- Options and cost: Are toilet or sink inserts available for your configuration, and what do they currently cost?
Price and availability: treat 2024 figures as historical
New Atlas reported an article-era base-price range of €6,590–€7,990, approximately US$7,100–$8,600 at the time of publication in February 2024. That is historical context, not a current quote. The report does not establish current pricing, sales availability, or a current fitment list; confirm all three directly before making a purchase decision.
