Bosch’s Revol is not a bassinet you can confidently buy today. Bosch demonstrated the AI-enabled infant-care crib at CES 2025, claiming it could monitor heart rate and breathing, detect crying and possible airway obstructions, analyze sleep, monitor nursery conditions, and rock a baby automatically. But Bosch has not publicly established a final U.S. launch, retail price, complete specification, or independent performance validation in the sources reviewed through August 18, 2026.
What Bosch showed at CES
Bosch called Revol a “multi-modal AI infant-care solution” and an intelligent crib. Media coverage described a mesh-sided bassinet or crib with an overhead arm containing a camera and sensor array, a vertically moving mattress platform, automated soothing, and live video monitoring. The vertical movement appeared different from the side-to-side rocking used by products such as Snoo, although the final retail design was not established.

Bosch’s demonstration combined several types of sensing in one nursery product. That makes Revol technically interesting, but a CES demonstration should not be confused with a finished, tested consumer product.

How the sensing and AI are supposed to work
Millimeter-wave radar
Engadget reported that the prototype used millimeter-wave radar, which Bosch said could measure a baby’s heart rate and respiration without attaching sensors to the child. Contactless radar is not the same as an ECG, pulse oximeter, apnea monitor, or hospital respiratory monitor. The available material does not provide accuracy ranges, missed-event rates, alert thresholds, or independent testing.
Computer vision
The camera and software are intended to recognize visual hazards such as a blanket or stuffed toy near the baby’s face. Important unanswered questions include whether Revol can detect partial obstruction, distinguish clothing from a loose object, operate reliably in low light or during movement, and alert a parent if the camera view is blocked.
Sleep analytics
“AI-powered sleep analysis” could mean anything from basic awake/asleep classification to more complex pattern reporting. Bosch’s public material does not explain the sleep model, whether it identifies sleep stages, how much data is needed before reports become useful, whether it learns an individual baby’s baseline, or whether the reports have been clinically validated. “Sleep insights” is therefore more accurate than “medical-grade sleep tracking.”

Privacy: local storage is promising, but incomplete
Bosch said parents could choose between encrypted storage on Bosch servers and keeping recorded data offline in the home. That is an important distinction for a device handling video and infant health-related signals.
However, the public announcement does not establish whether every feature works without cloud connectivity. Buyers would need clear answers about live video, alerts, firmware updates, account data, diagnostic logs, backups, retention periods, permanent deletion, caregiver access, and whether recordings or sensor data are used to improve Bosch’s AI models.
Encryption protects data during transmission or storage; it does not by itself explain who can access the data, how long it is retained, or whether cloud services are required.

Availability and expected price
Engadget reported that Bosch expected China to be the first market and was targeting a U.S. launch in 2026, subject to U.S. laws and regulations. No final price had been announced; approximately $1,200 was discussed as a possible target rather than a confirmed MSRP. Accessories were also described as potentially converting the crib into a changing table and desk.

As of August 18, 2026, the reviewed evidence did not establish a Bosch Revol checkout page, preorder page, confirmed U.S. launch announcement, consumer manual, warranty, subscription price, safety-certification listing, or independent testing. Bosch’s 2026 CES press coverage found in the dossier focused on kitchen AI and cordless vacuums, not a Revol retail launch. That does not prove the project was canceled, but it does mean readers should not treat Revol as an available retail product without direct confirmation from Bosch.
Is it a medical monitor?
Nothing in the reviewed material establishes that Revol is an FDA-cleared monitor, a hospital monitor, a treatment for a sleep disorder, or a device proven to reduce sudden infant death or other emergencies. Bosch’s own CES speech said the system does not replace the human element.

Radar readings and AI alerts can be useful information, but they can also be wrong. Possible failure modes include a blocked camera, poor positioning, clothing or swaddling being mistaken for an obstruction, missed hazards, false alarms, radar interference, network loss, power failure, and parents becoming over-reliant on notifications.
Parents should follow current safe-sleep guidance and the eventual product instructions. An object-detection feature is not permission to place blankets, pillows, or soft toys in an infant’s sleep space.
What a buyer would need to know first
- Product maturity: Is it shipping, in which countries, and is the retail model the same as the CES prototype?
- Monitoring quality: What are the accuracy ranges, false-alarm rates, missed-event rates, and test conditions?
- Safety: What age, weight, and developmental limits apply? What happens during a power outage? Can rocking be stopped immediately?
- Privacy: Does local-only mode support all features? Can users delete everything? Is cloud storage or a subscription required?
- Ownership: What are the warranty, replacement-part, repair, return, and service-discontinuation policies?
- Practical use: What are the mattress dimensions, cleaning requirements, noise level, app compatibility, and expected usable period?
What you can buy instead
Cradlewise Smart Crib
Cradlewise’s Smart Crib is the closest currently purchasable integrated alternative in the reviewed material. It combines a bassinet and crib with an integrated monitor, movement detection, sleep tracking, and automated bouncing, and is marketed for use from birth through approximately 24 months.

Pricing shown by Cradlewise varied by promotion and delivery timing, with figures around $1,299 to $1,899 on one page and starting prices around $1,399 elsewhere. Cradlewise also advertised rentals from $129 per month, month to month, in the contiguous 48 U.S. states. Verify current prices and terms before ordering. It is an established product, but its monitoring claims should not be treated as equivalent to Bosch’s proposed radar-based vital-sign system.
Nanit Smart Baby Monitor
Nanit is a separate monitor rather than an integrated bassinet. Its site advertises video monitoring, sleep tracking, environmental monitoring, and breathing-motion monitoring using specialized clothing. Nanit listed systems from $289.99 and bundles from about $369 in the reviewed material. The company says core features such as live view, sound and motion notifications, temperature and humidity tracking, and two-way audio do not require a subscription, while paid Insights plans add features such as sleep and video history.
Nanit may suit families that already have a compliant bassinet or crib and want a modular monitor. It does not provide Bosch’s proposed integrated rocking platform or contactless radar measurements.

The simplest option is often a compliant conventional bassinet paired with only the monitor features a family actually needs. A separate camera can be replaced independently, and parents avoid depending on a proprietary motion mechanism or a single company’s cloud service. More sensors do not automatically mean better safety or better sleep.
Bottom line
Bosch Revol is an ambitious CES 2025 concept that combines radar, computer vision, environmental sensing, sleep analytics, video, and automated soothing. Bosch’s claims are compelling, but the available evidence does not establish a purchasable U.S. product, final price, clinical validation, medical-device status, or complete privacy and safety specification.
If you need a smart nursery product now, Cradlewise offers the closest integrated alternative and Nanit offers a more modular monitor. If privacy, simplicity, and clear ownership matter most, a conventional bassinet with a separate monitor may be the more practical choice. Revol is worth watching—but not worth treating as a proven medical or safety device.
