The right choice depends on whether you need dried-stain removal, dependable carpet protection, pet-hair pickup, threshold climbing, privacy-friendly navigation, or the lowest practical price. For most mixed-floor homes, the Dreame L60 Ultra PE is the strongest current overall candidate based on Vacuum Wars’ July 2026 ranking. For hard floors and frequent wet cleaning, Forbes Vetted’s leading choice is the Narwal Flow 2. The Roborock Saros 20 Sonic is more compelling for difficult thresholds and advanced carpet handling, while the Eufy Omni C28 is the current budget pick in Vacuum Wars’ comparison.
The important distinction is that “mopping function” can mean anything from dragging a damp cloth to continuously washing a powered roller. This guide compares the cleaning systems, carpet behavior, docks, navigation, maintenance and ownership trade-offs that matter more than a headline suction number.

#1 Best Overall
- 【2-in-1 Mopping and Vacuuming】 The ROPVACNIC Robot S1 integrates advanced electronically controlled mopping technology, significantly enhancing both cleaning efficiency and effectiveness, which makes your floors remain free from footprints, dirt, and dust throughout the day. It features an upgraded high-capacity water tank with a four-stage personalized water adjustment system, enabling it to address various stains across different settings according to user requirements.
- 【Comprehensive Intelligent Control】 Multiple Cleaning Modes, combined with personalized settings, allow you to easily accomplish various household cleaning tasks with zero effort from your smartphone. Moreover, by voice commands, you can start your cleaning while kicking back and relaxing (compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant). Enjoy an utterly hands-free cleaning experience.
- 【5200Pa Powerful Suction】A 3-point cleaning system coupled with strong suction ensures your floors are free from all dirt, dust, and crumbs for a thorough, superior clean. The highly passable compact design combined with 3-level suction facilitates cleaning in hard-to-reach areas where you can't, making it suitable for a wide range of surfaces from wood, and hard floors to low pile carpets.
- 【Smarter High Automation & Self-Recharge】 The robot aspiradora is equipped with an advanced high-coverage sensing system and multiple algorithmic data points, enabling autonomous completion of cleaning tasks—from scheduled starting, detecting obstacles, adjusting direction, and switching modes, to automatically returning to recharge. This hassle-free operation ensures a clean home when you return.
- 【Engineered for Pet Owner】 The exclusive no-entanglement design negates the need for your dirty hands to clean up tangled dog or cat hair, unlike traditional roller brushes. Its dual rotating electric side brushes sweep and collect hidden pet hair more efficiently throughout the house, saving you the hassle.
Its appeal is breadth: current premium Dreame systems are designed around automated dust emptying, water management, mop washing and drying, carpet handling and detailed app control. The qualification matters, however: the exact L60 Ultra PE configuration, U.S. availability, bundle contents, warranty and live price should be checked before purchase. A test ranking is an editorial verdict, not proof that it will outperform every competitor in every home.
Choose it for a medium or large mixed-floor home, regular scheduled cleaning and a willingness to maintain a sophisticated dock. A simpler robot may be better for a small apartment or for anyone who does not want extra tanks, trays, filters and proprietary consumables.
Best mopping: Narwal Flow 2
Forbes Vetted selected the Narwal Flow 2 as its leading vacuum-and-mop combination. Its defining feature is a roller-based mop rather than two conventional rotating pads. The roller is continuously wetted and cleaned as it works, so the active surface can remain fresher instead of carrying the same dirty pad from one section of floor to the next.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsThat design is particularly attractive in kitchens, dining areas and homes with frequent footprints, food residue or tracked-in dirt. It is a design advantage, not a guarantee that the Flow 2 will remove every stain better than every rotating-pad model. Results still depend on pressure, water delivery, passes, stain age, floor texture and the dock’s cleaning cycle.
The Flow 2 is less obvious for carpet-heavy homes. Buyers with many rugs should verify dry-vacuum performance, carpet detection, mop lifting or removal and local parts and service before choosing it primarily for its roller.
Best for thresholds and advanced mixed-floor handling: Roborock Saros 20 and Saros 20 Sonic
The Saros range deserves attention where ordinary robots struggle with raised transitions, low furniture or complicated floor plans. Roborock’s official material describes chassis-lifting features, low-clearance navigation and mop detachment for carpet protection. The Saros 20 page also describes carpet-cleaning behavior for carpets up to 1.18 inches, but published maximums are not guarantees for every threshold shape, approach angle or surface.
Roborock lists approximately 3.13 inches of low-clearance navigation for the Saros 20 Sonic and advertises 36,000 Pa suction and its VibraRise 5.0 vibrating system. Those are manufacturer specifications, not independently standardized measures of cleaning performance. Vacuum Wars separately includes threshold climbing, obstacle avoidance and cleaning performance in its testing.

- WoldoClean Robot Mop Floor Cleaning Solution keeps your dock and water tank spotless, the anti clog low foam formula protects pumps and sensors inside.
- Non foaming liquid detergent for every robot vacuum with mopping function and wet dry vac, the refill alternative for your docking station tank.
- Highly concentrated cleaner makes up to 4 gallons of liquid, one 25.36 fl oz bottle lasts for 75 to 150 uses in your docking station.
- Streak free shine on hardwood, tile, laminate, vinyl, stone and LVP floors, quick drying pH neutral formula for all sealed surfaces.
- Mix 1 to 20 with water for daily mopping or 1 to 5 for tough grime, fast drying with a subtle fresh scent, no rinsing needed.
Do not merge the Saros 20 and Saros 20 Sonic into one specification sheet. Their names overlap, but mopping, navigation and dock details can differ. Confirm the precise model before comparing suction, mop pressure, carpet modes or price. Roborock’s U.S. pages showed price signals ranging from about $1,359.99 to $1,699.99 on August 16, 2026, depending on variant and page state; these figures are dynamic and should not be treated as permanent.
Some deep-carpet behavior may also require a manual app selection. For carpet-heavy homes, create no-mop zones and test the robot on the actual rug edges rather than relying only on the advertised maximum.
Best premium value: Ecovacs Deebot T80S Omni
The Deebot T80S Omni is a compelling middle ground for buyers who want a roller-mop design, automated dock functions and strong obstacle handling without necessarily choosing the most expensive flagship. Vacuum Wars’ 2026 coverage highlights its combination of vacuuming, mopping, pet-hair handling, obstacle avoidance, threshold performance and dock automation.
It is a candidate for busy mixed-floor homes, but the buying decision should include the app experience, firmware behavior, replacement-part supply, warranty and customer-support reputation in your region. A technically impressive dock is less useful if consumables or repairs are difficult to obtain.
Best budget full-service option: Eufy Omni C28
Vacuum Wars identified the Eufy Omni C28 as its current budget pick. It is worth considering because it aims to provide more than a basic damp cloth: the Omni dock concept includes automated dust and water management and mop care, depending on the exact package.
Before buying, confirm that the U.S. model has the dock functions you expect, especially mop washing, drying, water refilling and carpet protection. Budget robots can offer impressive feature lists while making compromises in deep carpet cleaning, edge reach, object avoidance or app control. The C28 is most attractive when its current price is substantially below flagship alternatives and your home has relatively manageable thresholds and clutter.
Best mainstream-value alternative: Shark PowerDetect 2-in-1
The Shark PowerDetect 2-in-1 with NeverTouch Pro Base is a strong option for U.S. buyers who want automatic emptying, water refilling, mop washing and drying without moving to flagship pricing. Shark says the base can hold up to 60 days of debris and provide up to 30 days of water autonomy under stated conditions. Those capacities vary with home size, soil level, cleaning frequency and settings.

- 【𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐑𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐀𝐫𝐦 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐄𝐝𝐠𝐞 𝐂𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠】Extends to scrub along baseboards, furniture legs, and tight corners. Works on hard floors, wood, tile, and short carpet. 10.8mm mop lift protects carpets; 21mm climbing navigates thresholds.
The official page showed a $629.99 sale price against a displayed previous price of $999.99 on August 16, 2026. Another configuration showed a different price, so compare the exact model number rather than relying on a promotional headline.
Shark is the practical choice for buyers who value a familiar mainstream brand and a complete dock. It gives up some of the most advanced navigation, threshold capability, edge reach and roller-mop sophistication found in premium competitors.
Other notable alternatives
Dreame X60
Vacuum Wars describes the Dreame X60 as a premium all-rounder with strong cleaning, obstacle avoidance, dock automation and advanced mopping features. It suits large, cluttered or mixed-floor homes where unattended recovery and comprehensive automation matter. Its high price, large dock and greater mechanical complexity are the trade-offs.
Samsung Jet Bot VR7MD96514G
Consumer Reports particularly praised this model’s mopping and dried-stain removal. That makes it an important alternative for readers who prioritize wet cleaning based on independent test coverage rather than suction claims. Confirm the U.S. model, dock configuration, price and current availability before treating it as a direct like-for-like option.
Roborock Q7 M5
TechRadar identifies the Q7 M5 as a newer budget recommendation for pet hair. It may suit owners who primarily need dependable dry vacuuming at a lower cost, but its mopping system should be treated as more basic than the self-washing roller and rotating-pad systems in premium models.
Eufy Omni S2 and Dreame L40 Ultra
TechRadar’s pet-hair coverage names the Dreame L40 Ultra as a strong premium performer and the Eufy Omni S2 as particularly capable in wet-and-dry cleaning. These are useful alternatives when pet hair or combined cleaning matters more than selecting the newest overall flagship.
What “mopping” means in practice
| System | What it does | Best use | Limitation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Passive damp pad | Drags a wet cloth across the floor | Dust and light footprints | Usually weak on dried food, grease and sticky stains |
| Vibrating pad | Agitates a plate or pad against the floor | More friction than passive wiping | Still depends heavily on pressure and pad cleanliness |
| Rotating pads | Two pads spin against the surface | Repeated scrubbing and flexible edge work | A dirty pad can spread soil if washing is infrequent |
| Roller mop | A powered roller is wetted and rinsed during cleaning | Frequent wet cleaning and kitchen residue | More specialized moving parts and maintenance |
Do not assume that “mopping” means scrubbing. The outcome depends on mop pressure, water control, cleaning-surface design, number of passes, whether the surface is cleaned during the run, dock-wash temperature, drying and the type and age of the stain.

For ultimate hands-free convenience, use voice commands via Alexa or Google Home to start, stop, pause, resume cleaning, or send your robot back to the dock effortlessly
Eufy’s own buying guidance correctly identifies mop lifting, water control, navigation, self-washing, drying, station maintenance and scheduling as important comparison factors alongside suction.
Carpet protection is a separate buying decision
A robot can mop hard floors well and still be a poor choice for a home with rugs. Check five things:
- Does it detect carpet automatically?
- Does it lift the mop high enough for your rugs?
- Can it remove the mop pads entirely?
- Can it avoid carpet during a wet-mopping run?
- Can it cross the rug edge without catching or becoming trapped?
Mop lifting is safer than dragging a wet pad over a rug, while complete mop removal offers another level of protection. No-mop zones remain useful even on premium models, particularly around thick, delicate or absorbent rugs. Carpet-heavy households should prioritize reliable carpet detection, strong dry pickup and user-defined carpet behavior over the highest mopping score.
Vacuum performance: ignore the Pa arms race
Advertised pascal figures are manufacturer specifications, not a standardized performance league table. Real pickup depends on airflow, brush design, floor-head contact, navigation, dust-bin airflow and the condition of the filter. Compare bare-floor debris pickup, carpet surface cleaning, carpet deep cleaning, pet hair, edge reach, long-hair tangling and performance as the dust bag fills.
Obstacle avoidance also affects effective cleaning. A robot that avoids cables, socks and toys may complete more unattended runs than a theoretically stronger robot that repeatedly gets stuck. Vacuum Wars’ current coverage emphasizes obstacle avoidance alongside carpet, mopping, pet-hair, threshold and dock testing for models such as the Dreame X60, Ecovacs T80S and Roborock Saros 20.
Dock automation does not eliminate maintenance
Evaluate each function independently:
- Self-emptying: reduces dust-bin handling but still requires bags and airflow checks.
- Clean-water refill: extends autonomy but requires filling or plumbing.
- Dirty-water collection: prevents repeated mop washing but the tank can smell if neglected.
- Mop washing: removes dirt between rooms and runs.
- Heated washing: may help with grease and residue, but is not a guarantee of stain removal.
- Warm-air drying: helps limit damp-pad odor.
- Cleaning-solution dosing: convenient, but may add recurring cost and compatibility restrictions.
- Dock self-cleaning: reduces residue but does not make the tray, filters and seals maintenance-free.
- Plumbing: offers maximum automation but needs installation and suitable drainage.
Expect to empty dirty-water tanks, refill clean water unless connected to plumbing, remove hair, clean sensors and brushes, inspect the washboard and replace dust bags, filters, mop pads and brushes. Mop-drying failures can result from an interrupted cycle, a blocked drying path or a dirty dock.

Navigation, cameras and privacy
LiDAR, structured light, infrared sensors and RGB cameras all solve different problems. Look for accurate room maps, room naming, multi-floor maps, no-go and no-mop zones, cable and toy recognition, recovery after becoming trapped and useful room-specific schedules.

Camera-equipped robots may recognize objects more effectively and may offer remote viewing or pet monitoring. They can also raise legitimate privacy concerns in bedrooms, children’s rooms and guest areas. Cameras may behave differently around mirrors, reflective surfaces, dark objects, thin cables and low light. Buyers who want to minimize visual sensing should look for a LiDAR- or sensor-led model and review the app’s camera and data settings before purchase.
Pets: hair is manageable; pet waste is a serious risk
Compare anti-tangle brush design, side-brush and wheel cleaning, dock clog resistance and pet-hair pickup. Camera-based pet recognition can be useful, but “object recognition” is not the same as a guarantee that the robot will avoid fresh pet waste.
Never run a robot unattended where a pet-waste accident is possible unless the exact model has independently demonstrated reliable avoidance. A robot that drives through waste can spread contamination across floors, brushes, wheels and the dock. Create no-go zones around bowls and cables, and inspect the robot after any stuck or abnormal event.
App controls and ownership costs
A good app should let you edit maps, name rooms, schedule vacuum-only, mop-only or combined runs, set water flow, choose carpet behavior, control mop-wash frequency, target dirty areas, manage multi-floor maps and receive consumable alerts. Labels and smart-home integrations can change with firmware and region, so verify current support rather than assuming every model works with your preferred assistant or platform.
Budget for dust bags, filters, main and side brushes, mop pads, approved cleaning solution, water and electricity. Proprietary parts can cost more or be harder to source. Before buying an expensive dock, check warranty terms, replacement-part availability and whether the manufacturer provides support in your country. The Roborock store, for example, showed a mop-cloth pack at $39.99 during the research period; consumable prices change.
How to choose by home type
- Mostly hardwood with frequent spills: start with the Narwal Flow 2, Samsung Jet Bot or another verified roller or strong scrubbing system. Prioritize stain testing and mop hygiene.
- Mixed floors with medium-pile rugs: consider the Dreame L60 Ultra PE, Dreame X60, Ecovacs T80S or Roborock Saros variant, but confirm lifting or mop removal.
- Large home with pets: prioritize obstacle avoidance, anti-tangle performance, large dock capacity and pet-waste precautions. Dreame, Roborock and Ecovacs premium models are the leading candidates to investigate.
- Small apartment: avoid paying for a huge dock and complex threshold system unless you genuinely need them. A simpler Eufy or Shark configuration may be more practical.
- Many thresholds or low furniture: investigate the Saros 20 or Saros 20 Sonic first, measure every transition and test approach direction.
- Privacy-sensitive home: favor non-camera navigation where possible and disable remote viewing or monitoring features you do not need.
- Lowest practical price: compare the Eufy Omni C28 and Shark PowerDetect, then verify exactly which dock functions are included.
Pre-purchase measurement checklist
- Measure every threshold, transition strip and rug edge.
- Measure clearance beneath sofas, cabinets and beds.
- Measure the dock’s height, depth and side clearance.
- Check for a nearby outlet and, if relevant, water and drainage connections.
- Identify delicate rugs, floor vents, charging cables and pet bowls for no-mop or no-go zones.
- Check the availability and cost of bags, pads, filters, brushes and approved detergent.
- Confirm the exact regional model, dock, warranty, app features and current price.
Practical setup and recovery
- Remove cables, toys, loose clothing and hair before the first mapping run.
- Run a vacuum-only pass before wet mopping a newly mapped area.
- Create no-go and no-mop zones around delicate rugs, bowls, cables and vents.
- Set mop-wash frequency according to room size and soil level; high-traffic kitchens need more frequent washing.
- Clean the dock washboard, filters, brush, dirty-water path and drying vents regularly.
- After a stuck event, inspect wheels, brushes, sensors and the floor before pressing resume.
- Use only the cleaning solution approved for the model.
- Check the map and sensor windows after moving furniture or the dock.
- Do not rely on a published maximum threshold figure without testing your actual transition.
- Keep the robot supervised around pets if waste incidents are possible.
How to compare models fairly
For a general mixed-floor home, use a weighted decision rather than a specification count: vacuum cleaning 25%, mopping 25%, carpet protection 10%, navigation and obstacle avoidance 10%, dock automation 10%, pet-hair handling 5%, app usability 5%, maintenance 5% and price and consumables 5%. Increase mopping to 35–40% for mostly hard floors. Increase vacuuming and carpet protection for carpet-heavy homes, and increase obstacle avoidance and hair handling for pet owners.
Also record the freshness of the evidence. Good Housekeeping’s June 2026 page stated that its latest testing was performed in October 2025, while newer products were still being added or tested. Distinguish the date a reviewer tested a robot from the date its article was updated, and distinguish a directly tested model from one evaluated mainly from specifications.
