Cookware commercials can prompt useful kitchen-design questions, but they are advertisements—not independent proof that a pan performs better than its competitors. Look past the superlatives to the product’s handling, storage, care, and fit with your cooking routine and cooktop.

Here, “best” means useful as a design prompt: an ad shows a recognizable product or use case, offers a detail worth considering, or helps homeowners think about how cookware fits into a real kitchen. The examples below illustrate those cues; they are not a ranked product review.

What a cookware commercial can—and cannot—tell you

An ad can show a pan, its handle or lid, and how a brand wants it to be used. It can also make claims about quality or professional use. Those claims should be attributed to the advertiser, not treated as independent testing. A commercial alone cannot establish comparative performance, long-term durability, or whether a product suits your home.

Use an ad as a prompt to consider four practical questions:

  1. Does it suit your routine? Think about the meals you cook and whether the pan replaces something you already use or adds another item to store.
  2. How will you handle and clean it? Consider the handle, pouring features, lid, and care instructions alongside your own habits.
  3. Where will it live? Check whether the pan, lid, and any protectors fit your cabinet or drawer—or whether you want cookware visible on display.
  4. Will it work with your kitchen? Confirm cooktop compatibility and consider the space available for cooking, storing, and cleaning it.

Commercial examples and the design cues they show

These examples are campaign references, not endorsements or a ranking. Their value here is in the design questions they raise.

Campaign example Documented detail Home-design question
Made In cookware spots iSpot lists titles including “Best Pans in the World” and “Can Made In Handle Alinea’s Kitchen?” and associates several spots with chefs Grant Achatz, Nick Kokonas, and Tom Colicchio. Is the ad showing a useful feature or relying mainly on a broad quality claim or professional setting?
Made In national TV commercial The brand’s page, dated February 10, 2024, features its “Proven in over 1,900 of the world’s toughest kitchens and ready for yours” proposition and lists a Stainless Clad Frying Pan 10-inch and Blue Carbon Steel Frying Pan 12-inch in “Shop This Video.” Would the featured pan suit your cooking routine, cooktop, care preferences, and available storage?
Our Place commercial in Australia An AdInception listing describes a commercial launched March 14, 2025, whose opening transcript names the Titanium Always Pan Pro. What product details does the ad actually demonstrate, and what remains an advertising claim?

Made In’s commercial page also reports “over 90,000” pans, “more than 1,900” restaurants, “678 cities,” and “over 5 years straight.” Those are figures published by the brand in 2024 as promotional claims, not independently verified findings.

Design lessons to take from the ads

Match versatility to your routine

A pan advertised as versatile is useful only if its jobs match the meals you actually make. A reduced piece count can be a design proposition: Meyer, for example, presents its Accent set as a limited mix of cookware that includes universal lids and a frypan. That is the brand’s positioning, not proof that every household needs that set. Before adding a pan, ask whether it replaces tools you use or creates another storage problem.

Plan storage for pans, lids, and protectors

Storage is part of the cookware experience. Handles, lids, and protectors all need a place, and nesting or display-friendly shapes may affect how you organize a kitchen. Meyer lists two universal lids and pan protectors among its set contents. Check the actual dimensions and arrangement against your cabinets or drawers before buying.

Notice handling and ergonomics

Handle placement and pouring features matter when moving a full pan around a kitchen. A historical example in a CDC Public Health Image Library caption is Mirro Allegro cookware: the caption describes a square upper shape with circular bottoms for round heat sources, pouring spouts at two corners, and aligned handles at the others. It explains, “This cookware design made the most efficient use of standard round heat sources, while at the same time offered greater cubic volume than a circular pot of the same height.” This is a historical design example, not a current product recommendation.

Consider color, display, and visual clutter

Cookware can be part of a kitchen’s visual design when displayed, while a compact set may reduce storage burden. Pentagram’s Great Jones case study describes coordinated product naming, colors, packaging, website, promotional materials, and food-in-use photography. That supports a point about design communication and presentation; it does not show that brand styling improves cooking.

How to choose a pan for your kitchen

  1. Start with what you cook. Identify the tasks you need the pan to handle before being persuaded by a “does everything” message.
  2. Check the fit. Compare the pan’s size and shape with your cooktop, available work area, and storage.
  3. Review handling and care. Look at handles, lids, pouring features, and the manufacturer’s care guidance. Consider whether those suit your routine.
  4. Separate features from claims. A visible design detail can be evaluated directly; a statement about being the best or lasting longer needs evidence beyond an advertisement.
  5. Decide how it will be stored. Account for the pan and its lid or protectors, and decide whether you prefer cookware tucked away or on display.

If a commercial prompts you to consider a stainless steel frying pan, treat that as a category to compare, not an endorsement. Made In’s commercial page lists a Stainless Clad Frying Pan 10-inch; check any candidate’s cooktop compatibility, care requirements, dimensions, and storage fit for yourself.

FAQ

What can cookware commercials teach me about kitchen design?

They can prompt you to think about how a pan is handled, cleaned, stored, and used in your kitchen. They do not independently prove comparative performance or tell you whether a product is right for your home.

How do I choose pans that fit my kitchen and cooking habits?

Start with the meals and tasks you handle regularly. Then check the pan’s size, cooktop compatibility, care requirements, handling features, and fit in your available storage.

How should I store pots and pans in a small kitchen?

First account for the cookware you actually use, including lids and protectors. Compare the pieces’ shapes and sizes with your available cabinets or drawers, and consider whether any cookware will be stored on display.

Which pan features matter for home cooks?

Useful features depend on the cook. Consider size, cooktop fit, handle and pouring design, lid arrangement, care routine, and whether the pan is easy to store in your kitchen.
