Its main advantage is not simply a wider view: the two lenses are designed to watch or track separate subjects and areas at the same time. That makes it potentially useful for a driveway and side gate, a house and detached workshop, or two approaches to a construction site.
Baseus calls it “the world’s first smart AI dual-tracking security camera.” That is a Baseus marketing claim, not an independently established industry fact. The more useful question is whether two independently moving cameras solve a real coverage problem better than one pan-and-tilt camera or two conventional cameras.

Why two tracking cameras matter
A fixed camera continuously shows one direction but cannot follow a moving subject. A single pan-and-tilt camera can scan a larger area, but when it turns toward one person or vehicle it may stop watching another area.
The X1 Pro is designed to reduce that compromise. Each lens has its own motor and, according to Baseus, its own PIR sensor. One camera can remain directed toward a driveway while the other watches a side entrance; alternatively, the system can attempt to track separate moving subjects. Baseus also describes “live cross-cam” tracking, in which one camera attempts to hand a subject to the other as that subject moves between views.
That is different from simply adding a wide-angle lens. It is also not quite the same as installing two fully separate network cameras. The two heads share a housing, power system, app and likely some system dependencies. They cannot be positioned at opposite ends of a property in the way two independent cameras can.
Useful installation examples
- Home: one lens for the front door and one for the driveway.
- Workshop: one lens for the entrance and one for an equipment yard.
- Construction site: one view toward the access gate and another toward stored materials, provided the unit has reliable Wi-Fi and sunlight.
- Outbuilding: one lens for a detached garage and one for the approach path, where both areas are close enough to cover from one mounting point.
If the two locations are separated by buildings, walls or a large distance, two separately placed cameras will usually provide more dependable coverage.
Coverage: what the headline numbers do—and do not—mean
Baseus lists up to 300 degrees of dynamic horizontal coverage, 210 degrees of static horizontal coverage, a 125-degree diagonal field of view and up to 55 degrees of horizontal movement per lens. Its FAQ describes each lens as having a 105-degree static wide-angle view, with overlap during coordinated movement. These are manufacturer specifications, not independently measured results.
The 300-degree figure should not be read as a 300-degree, full-resolution image captured simultaneously. It describes the combined movement and coverage behavior of the system. Walls, trees, rooflines, mounting height, glare and the distance to the subject can leave blind spots. A camera cannot see through a building simply because its motors can rotate.
Before buying, mark the two priority zones from the proposed mounting point. If both zones are visible and reasonably close together, the X1 Pro’s design may be useful. If each zone needs a camera mounted in a different place, two independent cameras are more flexible.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsResolution: 3K+3K is not automatically 4K
The clearest published hardware specification is two 3K camera modules. Another Baseus product page describes “dual merged 4K cameras.” Those descriptions should not be treated as interchangeable.
“Merged 4K” appears to refer to a combined or stitched viewing mode, not necessarily 4K capture from each sensor. The X1 Pro should therefore not be described as a conventional single-sensor 4K camera. Buyers who need evidence-quality identification should confirm the actual recording resolution, frame rate and export format in the current app and firmware.
The system also lists 8× digital zoom. Digital zoom enlarges existing image data; it is not optical zoom and cannot create detail that the sensor did not capture. Subject distance, lighting, motion blur and the camera’s viewing angle may matter more than the resolution label.
AI detection and tracking
Baseus lists AI categories for humans, faces, pets and vehicles. It also advertises NeuraNex 2.0 AI, smart event tagging and search, auto patrol, privacy zones and multiple tracking modes.
- Dual Sentry: each lens remains assigned to a designated direction or zone.
- AI tracking: a camera follows detected movement within its usable view.
- Cross-camera tracking: the system attempts to continue following a subject as it moves between the two views.
- Auto Patrol: the cameras periodically scan preset areas.
- Privacy zones: selected areas can be masked to reduce recording of neighboring property, windows or public spaces.
Detection is not identification, and AI tracking is not guaranteed. A person may be missed when partly hidden by a vehicle, foliage or darkness. Tracking can fail when someone moves quickly, leaves the field of view or passes behind an obstruction. Shadows, headlights, rain, insects, pets and moving vegetation can also generate false alerts.
An earlier launch announcement described face and night-vision detection as beta features, while the current retail page lists face detection as supported. That difference illustrates why feature availability should be checked against the current app, firmware and region rather than assumed from launch publicity.
Night vision
The X1 Pro supports infrared black-and-white night vision and spotlight-assisted color night vision. Baseus lists a 100-lumen spotlight and describes color night vision at approximately 26 feet on its product overview page.
Color footage requires sufficient visible light. The spotlight may improve color detail but uses more energy, attracts attention and can create glare on nearby walls or reflective surfaces. Infrared mode is less conspicuous but produces monochrome footage. The published 26-foot figure is not a guarantee of readable facial detail at that distance.
Baseus gives this app path for changing the mode: Camera → Video Settings → Spotlight Night Vision or Black & White Night Vision. Menu wording may change with app or firmware updates.
Solar charging and battery expectations
Published specifications include a 3W solar panel, a 7,800mAh battery, an adjustable 120-degree solar-panel coverage angle, a claimed 150-day battery life and a claim that 20 minutes of sunlight can provide 24 hours of operation.

Those figures are manufacturer claims, not universal guarantees. Performance depends on sunlight intensity, season, panel orientation, shade, dirt or snow, temperature, Wi-Fi reconnections, live viewing, event frequency, spotlight use and how often the cameras move.
A lightly used camera in direct sun may be maintained effectively by the panel. A camera that records frequently, patrols continuously, uses color night vision or sits in shade may still require supplemental charging. The best viewing angle for the camera is not necessarily the best angle for the solar panel, so installation should optimize both separately where the mount permits.

Baseus positions the X1 Pro around local microSD storage and no monthly subscription. The product page lists support for cards up to 512GB, with some bundles including 32GB or 64GB cards.
Local storage can reduce recurring cost and dependence on paid cloud recording, but “no subscription” does not mean “no account, app, Wi-Fi or internet.” The available product material does not fully document which combinations of remote viewing, notifications, AI search, updates and account access work without network services.
Local storage also creates practical risks:
- A thief can remove the camera or card along with the footage.
- A failed, full or corrupted card can stop recording.
- Important clips are not automatically protected off-site.
- Retention depends on resolution, frame rate, motion frequency and recording mode.
Use a suitable high-endurance microSD card, confirm that the app recognizes and formats it, export important clips and maintain a separate backup if recordings may be needed as evidence. Baseus also markets AES and RSA encryption and references EN 18031 privacy compliance in launch material; those should be treated as manufacturer or launch-PR claims rather than an independent security audit.

The published specification lists 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and Alexa and Google Home compatibility. No verified support was found in the supplied material for Apple Home, Matter, RTSP, ONVIF, wired Ethernet or NVR integration.

Detached garages, metal structures, concrete walls and long outdoor distances can cause intermittent connections. Test Wi-Fi at the exact installation location before permanently mounting the camera. Router band steering or a combined network name may also complicate initial setup.
Weather resistance and installation
Baseus lists an IP65 rating and an operating temperature range of -20°C to 50°C. IP65 means dust-tight protection and resistance to water jets; it does not mean the camera can be submerged.
Avoid roof runoff, standing water and locations where snow or ice can block the lens or solar panel. Secure the mount against wind and vibration. A loose mount can degrade image quality and tracking accuracy even when the camera electronics are working correctly.
Installation checklist
- Confirm strong 2.4GHz Wi-Fi at the proposed mounting position.
- Choose a location with dependable direct sunlight, not merely a bright sky view.
- Map the two priority zones and check for walls, trees and roof obstructions.
- Mount the unit firmly and keep it clear of direct roof drainage.
- Aim the lenses at distinct priority areas rather than duplicating the same view unnecessarily.
- Insert and format a compatible high-endurance microSD card.
- Create privacy masks before routine use.
- Configure detection categories and alert sensitivity.
- Test day and night views, including the spotlight mode.
- Walk through each zone to test detection and cross-camera handoff.
- Export a test clip and verify its timestamp and playback.
- Check operation after a router restart, battery recharge and temporary network interruption.

Baseus X1 Pro versus two separate cameras
The X1 Pro’s advantages are one mounting point, shared power, a single app, less visual clutter and the possibility of simultaneous tracking. Two separate cameras offer independent placement, better coverage of physically distant areas, redundancy if one unit fails and more freedom to optimize each camera for its own view and solar exposure.
Recommended Free Tools
Compare total installed cost rather than comparing one dual camera with one conventional camera. Include mounts, charging arrangements, memory cards, Wi-Fi improvements and replacement risk.
For high-risk locations, a fixed overview camera can sometimes be more useful than a constantly moving one. A moving lens may follow a person while another event occurs outside its view. The X1 Pro reduces this risk through its second lens but does not eliminate it.
Who should consider it?
The X1 Pro is most compelling for a small or medium property with two nearby surveillance zones, reliable sunlight, strong 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and a preference for local storage without a monthly fee. It could suit a driveway and side entrance, a workshop and equipment yard, or a construction site access point and material-storage area.
It is a weaker fit when the location is shaded, the two areas are far apart, continuous 24/7 recording is essential, off-site evidence backup is mandatory, or the buyer needs PoE, wired Ethernet, RTSP, ONVIF, NVR support, professional monitoring or guaranteed alarm response. In those cases, consider separately placed wired cameras or a monitored security system.

Final verdict
The Baseus Security X1 Pro’s credible differentiator is its attempt to place two independently tracking 3K cameras in one solar-assisted outdoor unit. That can be genuinely useful where one mounting position must cover two active directions. Its biggest limitations are conditional solar performance, dependence on Wi-Fi and local storage, uncertain integration details, and the lack of independent testing in the supplied evidence.
Buy it for the dual-camera layout and simultaneous tracking concept—not because “world’s first” has been independently proved, not because 300 degrees means continuous full-resolution coverage everywhere, and not because a no-subscription camera eliminates every privacy or backup responsibility.
