AT&T’s smart-home bundle is real, but the name in the headline is wrong. The service is called AT&T Connected Life with Google Home. It combines selected Google Nest devices, Abode security equipment, optional professional monitoring and AT&T connectivity. Adobe—the creative and document-software company—is not identified as a partner.
What AT&T Connected Life actually is
Announced on December 11, 2025, AT&T Connected Life is more than a discounted Google device bundle. It combines:
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
- An AT&T Connected Life security hub
- Abode security sensors and related equipment
- Optional Google Nest cameras and doorbells
- The AT&T Connected Life app
- Optional Abode professional monitoring
- Cellular and battery backup for the security hub through the AT&T network
The division of responsibilities is straightforward: Google supplies the camera and doorbell ecosystem, Abode supplies security hardware and monitoring, and AT&T provides the service platform, purchase channel and connectivity features. AT&T describes the system in its launch announcement as a smart-home and security solution.

- Essential monitoring: $10.99 per month plus applicable taxes, intended primarily for customers who monitor alarms themselves.
- Professional monitoring: $21.99 per month plus applicable taxes, with Abode providing 24/7 professional monitoring and emergency response.
Professional monitoring is an optional service layer. It does not mean that employees continuously watch every camera. In practice, professional monitoring concerns alarm events and response procedures; live video remains an on-demand camera function.
Google devices and add-ons
Depending on the package, AT&T lists the battery Google Nest Doorbell, wired indoor Google Nest Cam and battery Google Nest Cam. The purchase flow also listed these add-on prices at the time of review:
- Indoor wired Nest Cam: $99.99 up front or $4.17 per month
- Battery Nest Cam: $179.99 up front or $7.50 per month
- Battery Nest Doorbell: $179.99 up front or $7.50 per month
- Door/window sensor: $29.99 up front or $1.25 per month
- Motion sensor: $39.99 up front or $1.67 per month
These were checkout prices observed in August 2026, not permanent price guarantees. Taxes, eligibility, credit approval and financing terms may apply.
Financing does not remove the total cost
AT&T’s flow showed Affirm examples of as little as $11.08 per month for 36 months at 0% APR on Starter+, and $19.42 per month for 36 months at 0% APR on Advanced. Approval may be required, and a monthly figure should not be confused with a discount. Compare the full repayment amount with the up-front price.

What AT&T connectivity adds
AT&T says the security hub can stay connected during certain home-internet or power failures by using cellular backup on the AT&T wireless network and its own battery backup. That is useful for alarm communication, but it is not the same as keeping the entire smart home fully operational.
A wired camera may lose power. A camera may still depend on a working router or Wi-Fi connection. Live video, cloud access and mobile notifications can behave differently during an outage. Before relying on the system, test the hub, cameras and notifications under the conditions that matter to your household.
DIY setup and the two-app reality
AT&T designs Connected Life for self-installation. The package uses numbered boxes and guides customers to begin with the security hub. A typical setup is:
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →- Sign in with the AT&T account associated with the service.
- Open the AT&T Connected Life app and set up the hub.
- Install the sensors, key fobs and other security equipment.
- Complete monitoring enrollment if you selected professional monitoring.
- Open Google Home and sign in to, or create, the intended Google account.
- Set up the Nest cameras and doorbell.
- Link the Google devices to Connected Life.
- Test sensors, alarms, camera access and notifications.
Google says setup varies by device. Some older Nest products may use the Nest app rather than Google Home, and third-party products may not expose every control in Google Home. Follow the relevant Google setup instructions and use the same Google account throughout the process.
Professional installation is also available through third-party installers for an additional checkout price. AT&T says installation typically takes 90 to 120 minutes, depending on the number of devices.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Compatibility and important limitations
AT&T says Connected Life works with selected Abode devices, selected Google Nest products and most favorite Zigbee devices, subject to version, firmware and device compatibility. “Zigbee compatible” does not mean that every Zigbee sensor, bulb or appliance will work.
Check the exact model and firmware before buying add-ons or planning to reuse equipment. The Starter package may be especially useful if you already own compatible Google cameras, while a higher package could duplicate hardware you already have.
There is also a major ecosystem limitation: AT&T states that Apple HomeKit integration is unavailable for the security devices in the Connected Life kit. iPhone ownership alone does not make the system an Apple Home-compatible security system.

Nest video history may cost extra
Owning a Nest camera is separate from subscribing to Google’s cloud-video service. AT&T’s package materials state that Nest cameras include 30 days of event-video history with a Nest Aware subscription. Check the current Nest Aware terms before assuming that long-term recording or every detection feature is included.
Who should consider it?
Connected Life is a sensible fit for an existing AT&T wireless or internet customer who wants Google Nest cameras, optional professional monitoring and cellular backup for the security hub. It is also convenient for buyers who would rather purchase a preselected system than assemble compatible equipment themselves.
It is a weaker fit if you:
- Do not want an AT&T service requirement
- Need Apple HomeKit support
- Already own many devices from another security ecosystem
- Want a fully local, subscription-free camera system
- Expect one app to expose every Google, Abode and Zigbee function
- Are comparing hardware prices without counting monitoring, cloud storage and connectivity
How it compares with alternatives
Compare systems by ecosystem and service model rather than hardware price alone. AT&T Connected Life emphasizes an AT&T relationship, Google hardware and optional Abode monitoring. A service such as ADT with Google integration may suit someone who prefers a dedicated security-provider relationship. A local or self-monitored system may better suit a buyer who prioritizes local control and minimal recurring fees.

The practical questions are:
- Do you already pay for AT&T wireless or internet?
- Do you want Nest cameras and Google Home?
- Will you pay monthly for professional monitoring and cloud video?
- Do you need Apple HomeKit?
- Will your existing devices actually work with the stated models, firmware and protocols?
- Do you prefer DIY installation or a paid installer?
Bottom line
AT&T’s offering is genuine, but it is not an Adobe smart-home integration. It is AT&T Connected Life with Google Home: a bundle of Google Nest hardware, Abode security equipment, AT&T connectivity and optional monitoring. For AT&T customers who want Google-based security, it may be convenient. For Apple Home users, non-AT&T households or buyers seeking the lowest long-term cost, the service requirements and recurring charges make alternatives worth considering.
