Its advertised conversion to ash or powder remains a company claim rather than an independently verified result.
What AshPoopie is supposed to do
The design is intended to collect dog feces in a clean internal compartment rather than leave the waste exposed. Pressing a button would release a replaceable cartridge and start a chemical process inside the tool. Paulee CleanTec says the process produces “non-toxic fertile powder” in under a minute.

Historical descriptions from 2011 characterized the idea as a one-handed pet-waste scoop combined with a portable refuse incinerator. Those reports described a retractable handle, an internal chamber and chemical capsules, but did not establish a final capsule design, product price or production model.
Does it really turn dog poop into ash?
The concept was designed and marketed to convert collected waste into a dry residue. Historical coverage referred to that residue as sterile, odorless ash, while the current maker description uses the term fertile powder. However, the sources available for this article do not provide independent test results, a chemical analysis, safety documentation or validated instructions for using the residue on plants.

That distinction matters: “turns dog waste into ash” describes the proposed function and company messaging, not a result independently confirmed by the sources reviewed. Moshe Hibel, identified in a 2011 ISRAEL21c report as Paulee CleanTec’s CFO, said the goal was to avoid “moving the problem from one place to another.” The statement expresses the company’s ambition, but does not prove that environmental impacts are eliminated.
Availability and status
Paulee CleanTec’s current Pet Application page labels AshPoopie “Prototype Only Coming soon.” That is the most important status information for prospective users. A 2011 New Atlas report mentioned a possible launch as early as the first quarter of 2012, but that was a forecast made at the time, not evidence of a launch or current retail availability.

- When, where and at what price a production version might be sold.
Practical alternative while it remains unavailable
A manual dog-waste scoop is the straightforward available alternative for the pickup task. It can reduce bending or hand contact, depending on its design, but it only transfers the waste into a bag or container. It does not perform the AshPoopie concept’s proposed conversion, and ordinary disposal should follow local waste rules.
