One free scan finds every outdated or missing driver and matches the right update for your exact hardware.Free scan · exact hardware matchTo save space in an apartment bathroom, use overlooked areas—under the sink, on the door, above the toilet, in shower corners, and in narrow gaps—for storage that fits your room. Measure the full footprint and check door and fixture clearance before buying or mounting anything; no single storage setup works in every bathroom.
Renters can consider movable, hanging, tension-mounted, adhesive, or suction options, but check the lease, surface compatibility, moisture exposure, and product instructions first. Fixed shelves and other drilled solutions may suit owners when the wall and installation allow.
Choose Storage That Fits Your Bathroom
Compare options by footprint, installation, surface compatibility, access, and whether you need open storage for drying or closed storage to hide clutter. These are alternatives, not a tested ranking of what works best.

|---|---|---|
| Slim rolling cart | Freestanding and movable | Full width and depth, including wheels and handles; route and turning clearance |
| Mirror cabinet or under-sink organizer | Replacement or removable organizer | Available cabinet space, plumbing access, and door or mirror clearance |

| Fixed shelves or over-toilet storage | Freestanding or secured to a wall | Stability, wall suitability, tank access, and the space needed to use the toilet |

1. Measure before shopping
Record the available width and depth, door swing, toilet and shower clearances, and the pipes under the sink. A storage item that fits its advertised shelf width may still be too large once wheels or handles are included.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2. Roll a slim cart into a genuine gap
A narrow cart can use a gap beside a vanity or between fixtures, and it can be moved when you need access or want to clean. Check its complete footprint and make sure it does not block the route through the room. IKEA lists its VESKEN cart at 21 1/4 × 7 1/8 × 28 inches; confirm current dimensions and availability before purchase.
3. Sort under the sink with removable bins
Small bins or a shelf can group toiletries and cleaning supplies in an existing cabinet. Leave room to reach plumbing and choose containers that can be removed for cleaning.

Wall, Door, and Toilet-Zone Ideas
7. Use the wall above the toilet carefully
An open shelf can hold light items or spare toilet paper if it fits without making the toilet awkward to use. A freestanding over-toilet frame avoids wall holes but still needs to fit securely around the tank.
8. Hang a hook or organizer over the door
A door-back hook can hold a robe or towel without using floor area. Confirm that the door still opens fully and the hanger fits the door; check the lease and product instructions before using one.
9. Choose hooks instead of a freestanding towel rack
Hooks can use a small patch of wall or the back of a door instead of a floor-standing rack. Place them where damp towels can hang without obstructing movement, and make sure any mounting method suits the surface.

10. Replace a plain mirror with a mirror cabinet
A mirror cabinet combines a mirror and closed storage above the basin. Check its depth, door swing, and fit with the existing wall and sink area before replacing a mirror.
11. Mount a shelf only if the wall and permission support it
A fixed shelf can keep items off the floor, but it is less portable than a cart or hanging organizer. Choose a location and material suited to the wall and moisture exposure, and use a secure installation method.
12. Try adhesive or suction storage on a compatible surface
No-drill baskets, hooks, and shelves may be useful on suitable surfaces. Read the product’s limits and instructions; do not assume every tile, painted wall, or finish will hold an accessory.
13. Choose open or closed storage for the job
Open shelves and carts keep items visible and can help damp items dry. A cabinet can conceal clutter. Use each for what it suits, and avoid packing wet items into a closed container.
Shower and Bath Ideas
14. Select a hanging shower caddy that fits the fixture
A hanging caddy can move bottles off the tub edge. Check that it fits the showerhead or other support and does not interfere with a door, curtain, or access to the controls.
15. Use a tension-pole caddy in a suitable corner
A tension-pole caddy adds vertical shelves without drilling. Check ceiling height, stability on the floor, the available corner space, and the manufacturer’s installation instructions.

19. Choose a narrow vertical shelf where a cart will not work
A vertical unit can use height in a suitable gap. IKEA UK lists a VESKEN shelf unit measuring 37 × 23 × 101 cm; verify the current local listing, fit, and stability before buying.
20. Keep the floor route clear
Place carts, baskets, and towel storage so they do not obstruct the door, toilet access, or shower entry. If an item makes movement or cleaning harder, try another location or remove it.
21. Reassess after using the setup
Keep everyday items within easy reach and move infrequent supplies to higher or less accessible storage. After living with the arrangement, remove or reposition anything that makes the room harder to use or clean.

Frequently Asked Questions
How can I add storage to a tiny rental bathroom without drilling?
Consider a slim movable cart, an over-door hook, a tension-pole shower caddy, or adhesive or suction accessories. Check the lease, product instructions, and surface compatibility first; no-drill products are not suitable for every door or finish.
What should I measure before buying a bathroom cart?
Measure the available width and depth, then compare them with the cart’s full footprint, including wheels and handles. Check that the cart can be moved without blocking the door, toilet access, or shower entry.
Can I use adhesive shelves on bathroom tile?
That depends on the specific surface and product. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions and limits, and do not assume an adhesive or suction accessory will hold on every tile or finish.
How can I store items in a small shower?
Options include a hanging caddy or a tension-pole caddy in a suitable corner. Check the fixture, ceiling height, stability, and clearance for the door or curtain before choosing one.
