The Anker SOLIX E10 is a configurable home-backup system, not a single plug-in battery. Its power module works with one or more B6000 batteries, while automatic transfer, solar, and generator options affect what the system can do and what installation involves. Its appeal is flexibility; the key buying question is whether the selected configuration can run the loads you care about, for the duration you need, at a total installed cost that makes sense.
What the E10 system includes
An E10 setup combines a power module with one or more B6000 battery modules. Anker also offers or lists connection equipment, including the Power Dock and Smart Inlet Box, as well as solar panels and the Smart Generator 5500. Bundle contents vary, so check the exact parts in the offer rather than assuming every E10 package includes automatic transfer hardware, solar, or a generator. Anker’s product page describes the system and its available components: Anker SOLIX E10.
Anker says one E10 can support up to five battery modules, each with a maximum capacity of 6.144 kWh. That works out to a maximum combined module capacity of 30.72 kWh; the cited page does not establish that this entire nameplate capacity is usable by household loads. More batteries add stored energy, but they do not make every output or runtime claim interchangeable.
Can the Anker SOLIX E10 power a whole house?
It may be configured for whole-home backup, but “whole home” does not mean every appliance can run at once or for an unlimited time. The household’s running loads, startup surges, battery count, and transfer equipment all matter. Anker’s current product page, accessed October 7, 2026, lists a maximum continuous output of 7,680 W / 32 A with a battery. Its FAQ describes a one-battery setup as having up to 7.6 kW of continuous output, and says two or more batteries can support up to 10 kW for up to 90 minutes. Those are configuration-specific manufacturer figures, not a guarantee that a particular home’s circuits or loads are covered.

Anker also promotes turbo output and high surge performance for starting air conditioners. Surge capability is not the same as sustained output: a motor may briefly require more power to start than it uses while running. The product page’s surge and turbo claims should therefore be checked against the exact configuration and the appliance startup requirements rather than treated as continuous wattage.
How many E10 batteries do you need?
Estimate storage from the loads you intend to keep on and the hours you want to support them. A useful planning list separates essential loads—such as refrigeration, selected lights, communications, and a sump pump—from high-demand or optional loads such as electric cooking, clothes drying, or central air conditioning. Add their expected running power and likely startup demand, then ask an installer to check the proposed circuits and system configuration. The maximum of five B6000 modules per E10 is a product limit, not a sizing recommendation.

Anker says the batteries retain 80% capacity after 4,000 charge cycles. This is a manufacturer claim; the product page does not, by that figure alone, establish the operating conditions or how the claim maps to warranty coverage. Check the applicable warranty and technical documentation before using cycle life as a service-life guarantee.
Solar and generator options
The E10 has two photovoltaic inputs. Anker specifies up to 4,500 W per input over a 30–450 V range and warns against exceeding the voltage limit. Array voltage and power must be compatible with the input; panel wattage alone is not enough to confirm a safe match. An installer or the system documentation should verify the proposed array and connection equipment.

- 9–27KW MASSIVE SOLAR POWER: Prime ships with 10 × 440W panels (9kW), Ultra with 20 panels (18kW) — expandable to 27kW with triple E10. Dual MPPT per unit for fast solar recharging all day.
- UNIVERSAL GENERATOR COMPATIBILITY: Works with Anker SOLIX Smart Generator 5500 (4,500W DC Tri-Fuel) and existing 120V/240V AC generators via 9.6kW bypass.
- 6–90KWH BATTERY: Prime starts at 30kWh, Ultra delivers 60kWh — both expandable to 90kWh with triple E10 for months of uninterrupted off-grid power.
- 10–30KW ULTIMATE OUTPUT POWER: Prime handles everyday loads at 10kW turbo; Ultra delivers 20kW turbo for central AC, well pump, and kitchen — scale to 30kW with triple E10 for highest-demand homes.
Anker says the E10 is compatible with most third-party portable and standby generators, and offers its Smart Generator 5500 as an option. “Most” is not universal compatibility: confirm the generator’s output, connection method, and operating requirements for the intended setup. TechRadar’s review describes Anker’s Smart Generator as tri-fuel—natural gas, propane, or gasoline—but does not establish that every generator option has those fuels. TechRadar’s E10 review was published August 31, 2026.
Solar and a generator can extend backup when conditions and system connections allow, but neither removes the need to size storage and loads realistically. Anker’s backup-duration and energy-savings language is manufacturer material; the product page notes that savings vary by situation and does not establish a household-specific outcome.

Automatic backup, installation, and home fit
Anker advertises automatic switchover in 20 ms or less for the applicable Power Dock configuration. This is not a feature to assume comes with every bundle. A Smart Inlet Box/manual connection configuration requires the user to take the relevant action to connect or switch to backup; confirm the exact transfer method and included hardware before purchase. Anker also states that neither the E10 nor the Power Dock feeds electricity back to the grid.
Installation is a significant part of the decision for a construction or renovation project. Anker lists wall or floor mounting and NEMA 4 (IP66) protection. Its FAQ gives weights of 60.6 lb (27.5 kg) for the power module and 130 lb (59 kg) for each B6000 battery, and recommends professional assessment if wall load-bearing capacity is uncertain. Location, structural support, electrical work, and the chosen transfer arrangement should be considered together.

In his August 31, 2026 review, TechRadar’s Collin Probst reported hiring a licensed electrician for his grid-tied installation; the installer consulted local code and the utility. That is one reviewer’s experience, not a universal statement of legal requirements. Check local rules, utility requirements, permits, and the scope of work with qualified local professionals before committing to a design.
What the independent review found
Collin Probst’s TechRadar review reports four months of use, including 141 days with the system installed at his home. He praised the flexibility, solar input, generator integration, app controls, and transfer-switch features. He also identified price and Wi-Fi requirements for setup as drawbacks. These are the reviewer’s reported impressions, not tests conducted for this article; they do not establish performance in every home or network environment.
Price and total project cost
Prices and bundles change. The Anker US product page displayed bundles, accessories, and promotional offers when accessed October 7, 2026; consult the live page for current US pricing and inclusions. TechRadar’s August 31, 2026 review described a one-inverter/one-battery base system as costing just over $4,000 at the time. That dated report is not a current quote, and it does not represent an installed project price.
For a useful budget, compare equivalent system configurations and account for the connection hardware, number of batteries, solar equipment, generator if wanted, electrical labor, and any permitting or utility work that applies locally. The reviewed sources do not establish a typical installation price. Do not treat hardware pricing as the total cost of a home-backup project.
Verdict: who should consider the E10?
The E10 is worth considering when a household wants a configurable battery system that can be planned around solar, generator backup, and a particular transfer setup. It is less straightforward than choosing a portable power station: battery capacity, continuous output, automatic versus manual transfer, installation scope, and cost all depend on the selected configuration. Before buying, have the actual loads, circuit plan, solar or generator connection, and site requirements checked together; then compare the resulting installed proposal with alternatives on an equivalent basis.
