The WA Government announced the opening on 13 November; PerthNow published its story with the supplied headline on 21 November.
What the Stage 2 project delivered
The WA Government said the three new learning blocks provide additional space for 700 students. That is added capacity, not a report of 700 new enrolments. The Government put the college’s total stated capacity at 1,450; the announcement does not give an enrolment count or utilization rate.
The 2024–25 State Budget described the planned construction as new two-storey buildings for arts, English and mathematics learning areas, student services, and an auditorium, along with minor refurbishments to Stage 1 facilities. The later opening announcement also detailed completed specialist facilities:
- Hospitality kitchen and café: Existing drama and music rooms were converted into a professional-quality hospitality kitchen and café. Coastal Coffee Co serves students and staff, and gives hospitality students a place to practise barista skills.
- Specialised Autism Learning Program: The project includes a dedicated classroom and homeroom for the college’s program.
The distinction between the budget and opening accounts matters: the budget outlines planned work, while the Government’s opening announcement describes additional facilities in the completed project. The planned scope is set out in the 2024–25 WA Budget Paper No. 2; the completed facilities are reported in the WA Government’s opening announcement.

- ★ BETTER TO UNDERSTAND ---This molecular model is very useful for both the teacher and the student. This molecular model kit will help teachers and parents to cultivate children's interest in chemistry. Let intangible chemical molecules atomic shape transform into tangible. Better to understand and kinds will find it helpful in studying molecular geometry. A great hands-on way to learn!
- ★ POWERFUL FUNCTIONS --- This model contains C, H, O, N, P, S, F, CL, BR, I and other metals and a variety of single and double bonds, long bonds, long keys. Can be put high school, university chemistry in most of the organic or inorganic molecular structure model for the study of experimental operation.
- ★ WHAT YOU GET --- Swpeet brings you this terrific 240-piece molecular model set! Each molecular model kit comes with 86 atom pieces made up of 12 different elements. Also included are 153 links: long flexible ones (good for double and triple bonds), medium-length hard links, and two types of shorter space-filling links. Easily separate atoms from the links with the included removing tool.
- ★ NON-HAZARDOUS MATERIAL --- All models of the factory are made of food grade green plastic, new plastic, atomic ball (PP plastic, music buckle cup plastic) link key (LDPE plastic) box (ABS plastic)
- ★ CONVENIENT STORAGE --- The pieces come in a slim plastic box for convenient storage. See the pictures on this listing for a full understanding of what's inside!
Project cost, investment and capacity
| Figure | What it refers to |
|---|---|
| $52.2 million | Stage 2 project cost, as reported by the WA Government in 2024 and supported by the 2024–25 State Budget. |
| Approximately $100 million | Total State investment in Alkimos College after Stage 2, according to the WA Government in 2024. |
| 700 additional places | Extra student capacity provided by Stage 2, according to the WA Government in 2024; this is not an enrolment figure. |
| 1,450 students | The college’s stated total capacity, according to the WA Government in 2024; no enrolled-student count is provided. |
The approximately $100 million figure is the Government’s total investment in the college, not the cost of Stage 2 alone. The opening announcement also referred to $4.8 billion in wider education-infrastructure investment across the State; that broader figure is not part of Alkimos College’s project cost.

- 【444PCS】This Chemistry Molecular Model Kit contains 136 atom pieces made up of different elements;154 bonds:long flexible bonds (good for double and triple bonds),medium-length hard bonds,short-bonds (used for scale model single bond),overlength bonds,V-bonds (for space-filling models);3 electronic cloud slice;1 complete fullerene model (60 carbon atom+90 bond);1 removing tool for easy to separate atoms from the links. With this set,it is easy to build models for organic and inorganic chemistry
- 【Non-Toxic Material】All materials of our 444PCS Organic Chemistry Model Kit are eco-friendly.Polypropylene atoms (pp plastic) feel smooth,no scraps or cutting edges from the holes;Low-Density Polyethylene links (LDPE plastic) are easy to remove and put on.The atom parts and links are color coded to national standards for ease of identification and come with an Instructional Guide to easily identify all atoms and connectors.Delivered in a sturdy plastic box for easy storage and portability!
- 【Fullerene Models】What makes Our 444PCS Chemistry Model Kit unique is that this Model Kit has a complete fullerene model made up of 60 carbon atoms and 90 bonds.Fullerene is the third isomorphic body found in elemental carbon. The structure of fullerene is similar to the representative work of architect Fuller,so it is called fullerene. This is a great set to be put high school, university chemistry in most of the organic or inorganic molecular structure model for the study of experimental operatio
- 【Making Chemistry Fun】This educational molecule modeling kit is designed for easy chemistry learning for organic, inorganic,o chem and functional groups. The color coded bonds and atoms help visually demonstrate the geometry and structure of compounds & other bond types, let intangible chemical molecules atomic shape transform into tangible, help teachers and parents to cultivate children's interest in chemistry, makes learning chemical 3D molecule or atomic structures fun and interactive
- 【Best Parent-Child Interaction】There is no doubt that maternal-child interaction plays a very important role in child development. It is a good interaction for parents and children.Parents show their kids how to build 3D molecule to explore chemistry and physics concepts, kids teach their family the magic of chemistry and share the education experience. The Molecular model kit is designed for all ages:students from grade 7 to the University Graduate Level,STEM teachers, parents
At the opening, Education Minister Dr Tony Buti called Alkimos College “one of the largest projects undertaken by the Department of Education” and “a fantastic addition to our rapidly growing northern suburbs.” Butler MLA John Quigley described it as delivery of a “key election promise for local students and families.” Quigley also said he looked forward to the college having the full complement of Years 7 to 12 the following year. That was his expectation in November 2024, not a verified statement of the school’s current enrolment or status.
The supplied PerthNow story carrying the headline “$52.2 million stage two of school officially opens” was published on 21 November 2024, eight days after the Government announcement. Its publication date is distinct from the date the Government announced the opening: PerthNow’s story.
