Aldi announced an in-store launch for 1 May 2025, while stocks lasted. T3 identified the machine as the Yard Force MB400. Anyone considering one now should treat the price, stock position and model identification as historical unless Aldi UK’s current leaflet and a local store confirm otherwise.
What Aldi actually advertised
Aldi UK’s press announcement dated 23 April 2025 listed a robotic mower at £199.99, available in stores from 1 May 2025 while stocks lasted. The announcement called it Aldi’s “Robotic Mower”; T3’s article, published on 28 April 2025, identified the product as the Yard Force MB400.

That distinction matters: the Aldi release is the source for the price and specifications, while the MB400 name comes from T3. The available evidence does not verify that the same mower is being sold by Aldi in September 2026.

| Battery | Built-in 20V/2.0Ah lithium-ion | The listed onboard power specification; runtime and charging time were not stated in the announcement. |

Is it suitable for your lawn?
Area is only the starting point
A 400m² suitability claim does not describe how the mower copes with narrow passages, separate grass areas, trees, borders or frequent obstacles. The available Aldi information contains no independent test of coverage, navigation or cut quality. Measure the grassed area and examine the layout before treating the headline capacity as a practical limit.
#1 Best Overall
- Wire-Free Robotic Lawn Mower with LiDAR Navigation - GOAT A2000 LiDAR PRO is a wire-free robotic lawn mower that requires no perimeter wire or RTK antenna. The HoloScope 360° Dual-LiDAR system automatically maps your yard and delivers precise 2 cm positioning — even under trees, near fences, or in shaded areas where GPS mowers lose signal.
- Built-In Edge Trimming for Clean Borders - Unlike standard robot lawn mowers, this model features an integrated TruEdge trimmer for true edge-to-edge cutting. It trims along driveways, sidewalks, flower beds, and irregular lawn borders — reducing the need for manual string trimming after mowing. (Includes 2 rolls of trimming line, each covering approximately 3km of edging.)
- High-Power 32V Platform for Thick Grass - Designed for American lawns with Bermuda, Zoysia, Fescue, and St. Augustine grass. The 32V motor and dual-blade disc system provide stronger cutting torque and faster blade rotation, helping this robotic mower handle dense, fast-growing grass and uneven terrain.*Compared to previous GOAT models, based on ECOVACS lab testing.
- Fast Charging Robotic Mower for Medium to Large Yards - Equipped with a durable 3.0Ah battery and 113.4W fast charging, this robot lawn mower recharges in about 50 minutes. Ideal for homeowners looking for automated lawn care with minimal downtime and consistent scheduled mowing performance.
- Smart App-Controlled Lawn Mower with Custom Zones - Control your smart lawn mower through the ECOVACS app. Create multiple mowing zones, set no-go areas, adjust cutting height and speed, define travel paths between zones, and customize mowing schedules. Designed for complex yard layouts and personalized lawn care.
Check the height you need
The advertised 20–55mm range is useful if your lawn routine falls within it. Newly laid turf, shaded grass, rough ground and seasonal growth may need a different cutting plan. The range alone does not establish how evenly the mower holds a selected height.
Slopes and obstacles remain unconfirmed
Aldi’s announcement does not state a maximum gradient, obstacle-detection method, boundary-wire arrangement, weather rating or treatment of passages between lawn sections. Do not assume those details from the price or from another Yard Force model. Check the exact MB400 manual or current manufacturer documentation before installation.

What to verify before buying or installing one
- Confirm the current offer. Check Aldi UK’s current weekly leaflet and the specific store’s stock. The documented £199.99 price belongs to the May 2025 promotion.
- Confirm the model. Match the packaging and manual to “Yard Force MB400”; Aldi’s release itself did not name the model.
- Measure and map the lawn. Record total grass area, narrow routes, isolated sections, trees, beds, ponds and changes in level.
- Read the installation instructions. Establish whether boundary wire, pegs, connectors and other setup parts are included or must be bought separately. The Aldi announcement does not list them.
- Plan the charging location. The package was stated to include a charging station, but the release does not specify cable length, weather protection or placement clearances.
- Check controls and safety features. Confirm whether the exact model uses a handset, onboard controls or an app, and verify lift, tilt, lock and rain-operation behaviour from the manual.
How the deal compares with other robot mowers
The attraction was straightforward: a sub-£200 launch price for a mower advertised for lawns up to 400m², with a charging station and cover included. The trade-off is uncertainty. The available announcement does not establish app support, boundary-wire contents, slope capability, obstacle handling, runtime, charging time, noise or independent cutting results. A more expensive mower may offer better-documented navigation or support, but those features must be compared from the exact models’ current specifications rather than inferred here.

Is Aldi’s robot mower back this week?
That has not been established for the week of 30 September 2026. The phrase “back this week” describes the historical 2025 coverage, not a verified current promotion. Aldi’s 2025 wording was that the mower was available in stores from 1 May “whilst stocks last.” Check a current Aldi UK source and your local branch before travelling or budgeting around the £199.99 figure.

Bottom line for a construction-minded homeowner
The Aldi/Yard Force MB400 offer was notable because the advertised package combined a £199.99 price with a stated 400m² lawn capacity and 20–55mm cutting adjustment. It can be a sensible candidate for a simple, single-area lawn if the exact model, installation requirements and current price are confirmed. It is not evidence that every 400m² or complex lawn will be handled successfully, and no current September 2026 stock has been verified.
