Its report page lists a 3.3% compound annual growth rate for 2026–2030. An October 8, 2026 press release instead gives a $1,424 billion headline figure; the available sources do not explain the difference. TBRC identifies Asia-Pacific as the largest region in 2025, while the claim that Bechtel “dominates” the industry is not supported by the accessible evidence.
What is the airport construction market forecast for 2030?
TBRC’s 2026 Airport Construction Global Market Report estimates the global market at $1,430.52 billion in 2030. The same report page gives a 2025 estimate of $1,216.8 billion and a 2026 estimate of $1,254.8 billion, with a 3.3% CAGR for 2026–2030. These are commercial research estimates, not government accounts.

There is a discrepancy in the 2030 figure: an October 8, 2026 EIN Presswire release about TBRC’s report uses $1,424 billion in its headline. TBRC’s report page displays $1,430.52 billion. The sources do not reconcile the two values, so they should not be treated as equivalent or as a rounding difference.
What the estimate covers
TBRC describes its report as a global market analysis covering size, regional shares, competitors, segments, trends, and opportunities. Its stated segments include technology; location (landside, airside, and terminal-side); and application (defense/military and commercial/civil). The report uses 2025 as its estimation base year, covers historical estimates for 2020–2025, and forecasts 2026–2030. Its listed country scope includes Australia, Brazil, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Japan, Taiwan, Russia, South Korea, the UK, the US, Canada, Italy, and Spain.

Which region leads, and what does “fastest-growing” mean?
TBRC identifies Asia-Pacific as the largest airport construction market by region in 2025. It separately expects North America to be the fastest-growing region during the forecast period. These claims describe different measures: a region can have the largest market at the starting point while another is projected to grow faster. The accessible report summary does not provide regional market-share figures, so no percentage share can be stated.
How does ACI’s $240 billion investment figure compare?
Airports Council International Asia-Pacific & Middle East (ACI) says airports in its two-region scope plan a combined US$240 billion in infrastructure investment from 2025 to 2035, across upgrades to existing airports and new airports. ACI says the planned investment is intended to create capacity for 1.24 billion additional passengers and 71 million tonnes of cargo. Those are projected capacity additions, not confirmed outcomes.

This figure is not a regional slice of TBRC’s global 2030 market forecast. The two numbers differ in geography, period, and measure: ACI describes planned infrastructure investment across Asia-Pacific and the Middle East over 2025–2035, while TBRC estimates global airport construction market size for particular years. They should not be added together or used to validate one another.

Does Bechtel dominate airport construction?
The available evidence establishes Bechtel as a profiled market participant with named airport project roles, not as the dominant contractor. TBRC lists Bechtel among 35 companies featured in its report, alongside firms including China State Construction Engineering Corporation, Vinci Construction, Hochtief, TAV Construction, Larsen & Toubro, Turner Construction, Jacobs, Fluor, AECOM, Balfour Beatty, and Ferrovial. The accessible summary provides neither market shares nor a ranked contractor table, so it cannot substantiate a claim of industry dominance.
Bechtel’s Perth Airport role
According to Bechtel’s Perth Airport project page, the company became the airport’s Capital Portfolio Partner in early 2025, helping establish program governance, and was appointed Delivery Partner in late 2025. The multi-billion-dollar expansion program includes a third runway, expanded and consolidated terminal facilities, a hotel, two multi-storey car parks, and landside infrastructure upgrades. Bechtel describes it as Perth Airport’s largest-ever program and says annual passenger numbers are expected to rise from 16 million to 20 million by 2030; those are project-page claims and expectations.

Bechtel’s Hong Kong airport history
Bechtel’s Asia-Pacific page describes Hong Kong International Airport as part of a $20 billion infrastructure development delivered in 1998 by an integrated Bechtel–Hong Kong government team. The company says the wider development included the airport and associated roads, rail, tunnels, and bridges. This is company-reported historical project context, not evidence of current market rank.
