About 500,000 LG electric ranges are covered by a U.S. recall announced February 6, 2025. If you own an LG slide-in or freestanding range with front-mounted knobs, check both its model number and its serial number against the CPSC recall notice. A model-number match alone does not confirm that your range is included.
Is my LG stove part of the recall?
The recall covers certain LG slide-in and freestanding electric ranges with front-mounted knobs. CPSC says the ranges were sold by Best Buy, Costco, The Home Depot, Lowe’s, other appliance stores nationwide, and LG.com. The retailer and purchase date do not determine eligibility: compare your range’s model and serial numbers with the model-specific information in the CPSC notice, or ask LG to verify it through its recall service.
Which LG electric range models are recalled?
The CPSC notice lists these model numbers. For every listed model, the serial number must also fall within the corresponding range in the notice.

Do not treat this model list as a complete eligibility check. Open the CPSC notice’s model-specific serial-number table and compare the full serial number on your appliance.

How do I find my range’s model and serial number?
Look inside the oven door or on the storage drawer at the bottom of the oven for the product label. Use the model and serial numbers printed there to check the CPSC table. If you cannot confidently match the numbers, contact LG through its recall page rather than assuming the range is or is not covered.
Why were the ranges recalled?
Front-mounted knobs can be turned by accidental contact from a person or pet, potentially activating a heating element and creating a fire hazard. CPSC reported at least 86 reports of unintentional knob activation and more than 28 fires involving the ranges. At least five fires caused extensive property damage totaling over $340,000; the agency also reported at least eight minor injuries, including burns, and three fires involving pet deaths. These are reported incidents in the CPSC notice, not a prediction of the risk for any particular household.

What should I do if my stove is recalled?
- Request LG’s free remedy. Contact LG through lgecares.com/rangerecall to request a free warning label and placement instructions. The notice also lists 800-399-3265, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET, and [email protected]. Confirm current contact details on LG’s recall page.
- Follow the label instructions. The label reminds owners to use the range’s existing Lock Out/Control Lock function to disable activation of the heating elements when the range is not in use.
- Use the additional precautions in the CPSC notice. Keep children and pets away from the knobs, check that all knobs are off before leaving home or going to bed, and do not leave objects on the range when it is not in use.
The recall notice links to an LG instructional video about Control Lock/Lock Out. The stated remedy is a free warning label and instructions for using the existing feature; do not assume an aftermarket guard or other product resolves recall coverage.

Depending on the model, CPSC says the ranges were sold from 2015 through January 2025 for $1,400 to $2,650. The recalled units were manufactured in Mexico and Korea. These sales details do not establish whether an individual appliance is covered; the model-specific serial-number check does.
