George Clooney’s Lake Como home, Villa Oleandra, is a private residence in Laglio, not a visitor attraction. Public descriptions offer a glimpse of its history and design, but they do not provide a verified room-by-room interior tour.
Where is George Clooney’s Lake Como villa?
Villa Oleandra is in Laglio, on Lake Como’s western shore. The Laglio tourism portal lists its address as Via Vecchia Regina, 20. That identifies the property’s location; it is not an invitation to approach a private home. Laglio tourism portal
What is known about Villa Oleandra’s history?
The Laglio tourism portal says the complex appears in cadastral maps dating to 1720. It records the Stoppani family as owners from 1834, when they consolidated the house and grounds. Laglio tourism portal
The Villa Oleandra website says Clooney acquired the villa in 2002 and later acquired nearby Villa Margherita and a former metal-mesh factory. These are historical details reported by the property website; they do not establish who owns the properties today. Villa Oleandra, “La Villa”

What do public descriptions reveal about the design?
The Villa Oleandra website characterizes the main villa as a residence that needed only essential modifications after the acquisition. It describes interiors combining antique elements and Liberty style with modern pieces. This is the website’s account, not a firsthand inspection or a complete inventory of rooms and furnishings. Villa Margherita and the former factory
The same website says Villa Margherita was restored to recover historic features. It describes two former factory buildings adapted for contemporary uses, including a cinema and gym, and mentions basketball and paddle courts. Those features belong to the broader property complex described by the site; they should not be mistaken for a public tour offering. Villa Oleandra, “La Villa”
Is Villa Oleandra an Ocean’s Twelve filming location?
Regional Lake Como tourism material includes Villa Oleandra in its account of locations connected with Ocean’s Twelve. It also names Villa Erba in Cernobbio as a separate location. The film connection does not make Villa Oleandra a public attraction. Lake Como tourism portal, “Lake Como Like in a Movie”
Can you visit George Clooney’s villa?
The available public sources do not establish that Villa Oleandra’s interior is open to visitors. The Laglio tourism portal describes a local restriction on stopping immediately around the villa entrance, including from the lake, but that page may refer to an earlier rule. In February 2026, La Provincia di Como reported that Mayor Giancarlo Premoli did not expect the earlier anti-paparazzi ordinance to be issued that year unless further reasons or different information emerged. His statement concerned the expected status of that year’s measure, not a permanent rule. La Provincia di Como, February 6, 2026

For a Lake Como visit, choose general sightseeing rather than trying to reach or view the property. Check current municipal guidance for any local access restrictions.

In September 2023, la Repubblica reported a denial by Clooney, conveyed through a spokesperson, of a story that the villa had been sold. The quoted statement said, “La prima volta che ne ho sentito parlare è stato quando Page Six ha pubblicato la storia. Tutti l’hanno raccolta, ma non è vera” (“The first time I heard of it was when Page Six published the story. Everyone picked it up, but it isn’t true.”). That was a denial of the sale story at the time; it does not establish the property’s ownership status in October 2026. la Repubblica, September 26, 2023
