There are two weeks left to enter the Digital Construction Awards 2027: submissions close at close of play on 30 October 2026. The awards recognise best practice and innovation in BIM, information management and digital technology across the built and managed environments. Entries must concern work carried out in the UK or work that benefits the UK industry.
Construction Management, alongside the Chartered Institute of Building, Digital Construction Week and Digital Construction Plus, is running the programme. Full entry information is available at digitalconstructionawards.co.uk.

What the Digital Construction Awards 2027 recognise
The programme is designed to “celebrate best practice and reward innovation in the application of BIM, information management and digital technology in the built and managed environments”, according to Construction Management. That scope covers project delivery, organisational capability, individual leadership and products—not only software development.
A 2026 entry cannot be submitted again. Your 2027 submission should show new work, a materially changed initiative or results that were not the basis of the earlier entry.

There are 16 categories. Select the one that matches the type of work being judged and the evidence you can prove, rather than the label that sounds most prestigious. In every case, explain the digital discipline involved, the outcome achieved and the benefit to the UK industry.

Use the entry form’s wording as the final authority: category descriptions and questions determine what the judges expect. Reviewing previous winners and their winning entries can help you calibrate the level of detail without copying their approach.

What makes an entry competitive
Start with the situation and the intervention
Assume the judges do not know your firm, client or project. Set out the project or organisation, the problem or opportunity, the people affected and the digital approach you introduced. Define specialist terms once and use plain English instead of marketing language or unexplained jargon.
Make outcomes the centre of the case
In most categories, the outcome of the featured work scores double. Give the results more space than the feature list. State the baseline, the period measured, the method used and the change achieved. Useful evidence may include time saved, rework avoided, information errors reduced, safety risks controlled, carbon or energy changes, productivity gains, user adoption or client decisions improved. If a result is estimated, label it as an estimate and explain the basis.

Show contribution, not just activity
Explain who did what, how the process changed and why the approach was suitable for the project. A platform name or a list of model exchanges is not an outcome by itself. Link each digital action to a decision, a delivery improvement or a benefit that matters to the client, workforce, asset owner or wider industry.
Eligibility and submission checklist
- Confirm that the work was carried out in the UK or benefits the UK industry.
- Check that it has not been entered in the 2026 cycle.
- Choose the single category whose criteria best match your evidence.
- Read every question and provide all requested information in the entry form.
- Write a formal, self-contained submission; do not paste brochures, press releases or sales collateral.
- Give context before technical detail and define abbreviations.
- Document outcomes with baselines, measures, dates and responsible parties, remembering that outcomes score double in most categories.
- Ask a colleague who was not involved in drafting to proofread the final entry for clarity, completeness and unsupported claims.
- Submit before close of play on 30 October 2026, allowing time for formatting and any required approvals.

The gala dinner is expected to bring together more than 400 sector leaders. The dates above are for the 2027 programme; the previous cycle had a 31 October 2025 deadline, a 12 January 2026 shortlist and an 18 March 2026 dinner, so older announcements should not be used to plan this entry.
