The Best Bosch Electric Ranges for a Smarter Kitchen Upgrade

Bosch electric ranges can be a clean, high-end upgrade, but the best choice depends on more than the appliance price. Here is how to compare radiant and induction models, budget the real installed cost, and avoid wiring, cabinet, and permit surprises.

If you are shopping for the best Bosch electric range, the short answer is this: the Bosch 800 Series HEI8056U is the strongest radiant-electric pick for most 30-inch kitchen upgrades, while the Bosch 800 Series HII8057U is the better choice if you want induction cooking and your electrical setup can support it. The industrial-style HIS8055U and 36-inch HIS8655U are excellent fits for higher-end remodels, but they are not simple appliance swaps in many homes.

On our job sites, the range decision rarely stops at stainless steel, oven capacity, and knobs. We look at the breaker panel, the existing range receptacle, the age of the wiring, countertop overhangs, backsplash height, floor levelness, ventilation, delivery path, and whether the homeowner is switching from gas to electric. Those details can turn a $2,599 range purchase into a $3,500 installed upgrade, or a $4,899 induction range into an $8,000-plus kitchen project.

Bosch’s current U.S. electric lineup is narrower than many buyers expect. The radiant electric slide-in range options are mainly the 100 Series HEF1050MU at about $1,549 MSRP, the 300 Series HEF3050MU at about $1,899 MSRP, and the 800 Series HEI8056U at about $2,599 MSRP. Bosch induction ranges are electric appliances too, but they belong in a different budget class, commonly running about $4,149 to $6,799 before tax, delivery, installation, electrical work, trim, haul-away, or cabinet changes.

Best Bosch Electric Ranges at a Glance

For most homeowners, the best Bosch range is not the most expensive one. It is the model that fits the cooking style, the existing opening, the electrical service, and the remodel budget without creating avoidable change orders.

Bosch 100 Series HEF1050MU Budget Bosch look Radiant electric $1,549 MSRP Confirm 30-inch opening and existing 240-V circuit
Bosch 300 Series HEF3050MU Midrange cosmetic upgrade Radiant electric $1,899 MSRP Check countertop edges, backsplash, and cord/receptacle setup
Bosch 800 Series HEI8056U Best radiant-electric Bosch pick Radiant electric $2,599 MSRP Verify breaker size and slide-in fit before delivery
Bosch 800 Series HII8057U Best 30-inch induction upgrade Induction About $4,149 Needs compatible cookware and proper 240-V circuit
Bosch 800 Series HIS8055U Pro-style induction with knobs Induction About $4,899 40-A breaker, 208/240 V, 8,000 W, fixed connection, no plug
Bosch 800 Series HIS8655U 36-inch luxury remodel Induction About $6,799 Often requires cabinet, countertop, ventilation, and circuit planning

If the existing kitchen already has a modern 240-V range circuit, a properly placed receptacle, a clean 30-inch opening, and a straightforward delivery path, the 800 Series HEI8056U is usually the cleanest Bosch electric upgrade. If the homeowner cooks often, wants faster response, and is already planning electrical work, induction becomes much easier to justify.

Best Overall Radiant Electric: Bosch 800 Series HEI8056U

The Bosch 800 Series HEI8056U is the model we would price first for a homeowner who wants a premium Bosch electric range without stepping up to induction. It is a 30-inch-class slide-in radiant electric range with a 4.6-cubic-foot oven, Genuine European Convection, self-clean, rapid preheat, and a warming drawer. At about $2,599 MSRP in 2026, it sits at the top of Bosch’s radiant-electric range lineup, but it is still far below the cost of Bosch induction models.

The appeal is straightforward: it gives a built-in slide-in appearance, a useful convection oven, and a familiar glass radiant cooktop. Most homeowners already understand radiant electric cooking. You turn on the element, it heats the glass, and the pan heats from contact with that hot surface. There is no cookware compatibility issue like induction, and there is less buyer education needed after installation.

From a remodeling standpoint, this is the Bosch electric range that fits the largest number of kitchens. It is not inexpensive, but it usually avoids the added decision-making that comes with pro-style induction ranges, fixed electrical connections, and 36-inch layout changes. For a practical kitchen refresh with new countertops, backsplash, cabinet paint, lighting, and appliances, this is the model that keeps the appliance scope controlled.

Where the HEI8056U Makes Sense

Choose the HEI8056U when the opening is already planned around a 30-inch slide-in range, the homeowner wants stainless steel and convection, and the project does not need the extra speed or cost of induction. It is especially suitable for kitchen updates where the budget is better spent across several visible improvements rather than one premium appliance.

A realistic installed budget for a straightforward Bosch radiant-electric upgrade is often about $1,900 to $3,500. That range includes the appliance, basic delivery and installation, possible haul-away, small trim or anti-tip work, and minor electrical corrections. If the circuit is wrong, the receptacle is damaged, or the panel needs work, the budget can move higher quickly.

Best Value Bosch Electric Range: 100 and 300 Series

The Bosch 100 Series HEF1050MU and 300 Series HEF3050MU are better choices when the goal is a Bosch-branded cosmetic upgrade at a lower appliance cost. The 100 Series is listed around $1,549 MSRP, while the 300 Series is around $1,899 MSRP. These are the models to consider when the kitchen is being refreshed for resale, rental quality, or a clean modern look without turning the range into the centerpiece of the budget.

In real projects, we recommend looking at these models when the homeowner wants to stay under roughly $2,500 installed and the existing electrical conditions are already suitable. That means a dedicated 240-V range circuit, a breaker and conductors that match the appliance requirements, an accessible receptacle or connection point, and no cabinet cutting.

The tradeoff is that you give up some of the refinement and features of the 800 Series. For many households, that is acceptable. If the cooking routine is basic weeknight meals, sheet-pan dinners, and occasional baking, the value models can be perfectly reasonable. If the homeowner bakes often, hosts regularly, or expects a more polished oven experience, the 800 Series HEI8056U is the better long-term choice.

Best Bosch Induction Upgrade: 800 Series HII8057U

The Bosch 800 Series HII8057U is the best 30-inch Bosch induction range for homeowners who want a more responsive cooktop while keeping a polished slide-in look. It has been listed around $4,149 at major retailers, which puts it roughly $1,500 above the 800 Series radiant HEI8056U before installation differences are considered.

Induction is still electric cooking, but it works differently from radiant electric. Instead of heating the glass first and then the pan, induction uses magnetic energy to heat compatible cookware directly. The practical benefits are fast boiling, quick temperature changes, a glass surface that is easier to wipe down because it does not stay as hot as a radiant element, and efficient heat transfer into the pan.

The reason we separate induction from radiant electric in estimates is simple: the buying decision is different. A homeowner comparing a $2,599 radiant model and a $4,149 induction model is not just choosing between two ranges. They may also be choosing new cookware, a different electrical scope, different repair expectations, and a different cooking feel.

Induction Pros and Cons

The strongest reasons to buy Bosch induction are speed, control, cleanup, and energy efficiency at the pan. Induction also reduces the amount of stray heat dumped into the kitchen, which can matter in tight remodels, townhomes, and open-plan kitchens where the range sits near living space.

The drawbacks are real. You need induction-compatible cookware. Cast iron and many stainless pans work, but aluminum, copper, and some older stainless cookware will not work unless they have a magnetic base. Induction also makes some operating noise. Owners commonly notice fan sound, clicking, or buzzing, especially at higher settings or with certain pans. Some Bosch induction models also have smaller oven capacities than homeowners expect, and premium electronics can mean higher repair costs after the warranty period.

For a 30-inch Bosch induction upgrade with minor electrical work, a realistic installed budget is often $4,700 to $6,500. That includes the appliance, delivery, basic installation, possible breaker or receptacle work, and job-site coordination. If the home needs a new circuit from a distant panel, finished-wall fishing, GFCI troubleshooting, or a panel upgrade, the cost can exceed that range.

Best Pro-Style Bosch Induction: HIS8055U

The Bosch HIS8055U is for homeowners who want induction performance with a more traditional control feel and a pro-style appearance. It is commonly listed around $4,899 and has a 30-inch industrial-style format. The important construction detail is the electrical connection. The Bosch spec sheet lists this model at 8,000 W, 208/240 V, 60 Hz, with a 40-A circuit breaker, and it uses a fixed connection with no plug.

Bosch 00484782 Range 6 Inch Coil Surface Element
  • The 00484782 6 Inch Coil Surface Element is a genuine Bosch OEM replacement part.
  • The Bosch 6 Inch Coil Surface Element is also called the Plug-in Heating Element and is for Ranges.
  • The Range 6 Inch Coil Surface Element is a 240 V and 1500 W element that supplies the heat to a cooking area on top of the range.
  • The Bosch 00484782 replaces part numbers of: 00485541
  • It is recommend to reference your appliance service manual or the manufacturer of your appliance to validate the correct part number for your appliance.

That last point matters. A fixed-connection range is not the same as sliding out the old appliance, plugging in a new one, setting the anti-tip bracket, and leveling the feet. It typically requires a licensed electrician or appliance installer qualified for the connection. It also means the estimator needs to look at the junction box location, conductor size, breaker type, strain relief, local code requirements, and service capacity before promising a simple installation.

The HIS8055U also has a smaller oven than many buyers expect, at about 3.9 cubic feet. That may be fine for a design-forward kitchen where cooktop performance and appearance matter most, but it can disappoint a family that regularly cooks large holiday meals. Before ordering, we ask what pans, roasting trays, and baking sheets the homeowner actually uses. Appliance specs are one thing; Thanksgiving is another.

Best 36-Inch Bosch Electric Option: HIS8655U

The Bosch HIS8655U is the premium 36-inch induction choice, commonly listed around $6,799 before installation. This is not a normal replacement range for most U.S. kitchens. A standard range opening is usually planned around a 30-inch appliance. Moving to 36 inches can require base cabinet modifications, countertop cutting or replacement, backsplash changes, ventilation review, flooring touch-ups, and sometimes a new electrical run.

We treat a 36-inch induction range as part of a kitchen remodel, not an appliance errand. The correct question is not, “Will the appliance fit through the door?” It is, “Does the kitchen layout support the appliance after clearances, landing space, hood width, electrical routing, and cabinet symmetry are accounted for?”

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

A realistic installed budget for a 36-inch Bosch induction range can land around $7,000 to $12,000 or more when cabinet modifications, a new circuit, GFCI breaker requirements, ventilation changes, permits, or panel work are included. In older homes, a panel or service upgrade can add another major line item.

What Bosch Electric Range Installation Really Costs

Appliance price is only one part of the decision. National appliance installation averages are often listed around $131 to $270, with a typical figure near $187, but that number usually reflects simpler appliance work. Higher-touch appliance installers report average installs closer to $425, and range or pro-style work can run several hundred dollars before electrical corrections.

For 240-V electrical work, the spread is wider. A simple 240-V outlet installation may be listed around $220, with a common $175 to $300 range, but real-world electric range circuits often run about $300 to $900 when panel distance, breaker type, access, wire fishing, and finished-wall conditions are included. Electrical permits may add about $50 to $100 for outlet work, while broader kitchen electrical or remodel permits can cost more depending on the city, county, and project valuation.

If the house does not have enough electrical capacity, a 200-A panel upgrade commonly lands around $1,300 to $3,000 nationally. In many markets, especially where meter work, service entrance changes, utility coordination, exterior repairs, or long permit timelines are involved, $2,500 to $4,500-plus is more realistic.

Project Type Realistic 2026 Budget What Is Usually Included
Straightforward Bosch radiant-electric upgrade $1,900-$3,500 Range, delivery, basic install, haul-away, minor fit corrections
30-inch Bosch induction upgrade with minor electrical work $4,700-$6,500 Range, install, cookware review, breaker or receptacle corrections
Gas-to-induction conversion $5,500-$9,000+ Gas cap, new 240-V circuit, permit, range install, possible ventilation review
36-inch Bosch induction remodel $7,000-$12,000+ Range, cabinet/countertop changes, electrical, ventilation, permits
Panel or service upgrade if required Add $1,300-$4,500+ Panel, breakers, utility coordination, inspection, possible exterior work

The biggest budget mistake is comparing appliance-only prices. A cheaper range can cost more than a premium range if it triggers panel work, cabinet cutting, countertop replacement, or a complicated delivery.

Electrical and Code Planning Before You Buy

Standard 30-inch electric ranges are commonly planned around a dedicated 240-V range circuit. Some residential electrical guides describe electric ranges as requiring 240 V and 50 A circuits, but the final answer must come from the appliance nameplate, Bosch installation instructions, local code, and the electrician’s load calculation. The HIS8055U, for example, specifies 8,000 W and a 40-A circuit breaker. That is why model-specific planning matters.

Before we order a Bosch range, we want photos of the breaker panel, the panel label, the existing range receptacle, the range opening, the countertop edges, the backsplash, and the delivery path. In older homes, we also look for 3-prong range receptacles, aluminum conductors, undersized wiring, crowded panels, double-tapped breakers, and signs that the existing range circuit was modified without a permit.

GFCI and Permit Notes

Modern code requirements around kitchen circuits and GFCI protection have changed over time, and local adoption varies. Some range installations can be affected by GFCI breaker requirements, nuisance tripping concerns, panel compatibility, and appliance instructions. This is not an area for guesswork. If a new 240-V circuit, new breaker, panel work, or hardwired connection is involved, use a licensed electrician and pull the required permit.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Permits are not just paperwork. They create a record that the circuit, breaker, conductor size, grounding, bonding, and installation method were inspected. That matters for safety, resale, insurance questions, and future remodel work.

Range Readiness Checklist

Before buying any Bosch electric or induction range, walk through this checklist. It can save days of delay and hundreds or thousands of dollars in surprise costs.

  • Opening width: Confirm the range opening is appropriate for a 30-inch or 36-inch model, including countertop overhangs and side clearances.
  • Depth and rear clearance: Check whether the appliance can sit flush without hitting the receptacle, gas stub, trim, backsplash, or wall.
  • Electrical circuit: Verify voltage, breaker size, conductor size, grounding, receptacle or junction box location, and whether the model requires a cord or fixed connection.
  • Panel capacity: Ask whether the panel has enough load capacity for the range, especially when switching from gas to electric or adding induction.
  • Cookware: For induction, test pans with a magnet. If the magnet sticks firmly to the bottom, the pan is more likely to work.
  • Ventilation: Confirm the hood or microwave vent is properly sized and placed, especially for frequent high-heat cooking.
  • Delivery path: Measure doors, stairs, turns, islands, and hallway widths. Remove obstacles before delivery day.
  • Floor level: A slide-in range needs a level, stable floor so gaps at the countertop and backsplash do not look sloppy.
  • Anti-tip bracket: Make sure the installer anchors the anti-tip device. This is a basic safety requirement, not an optional accessory.
  • Permit need: Confirm local requirements before electrical work starts, especially for new circuits, panel changes, or gas-to-electric conversions.

Replacing Gas With Bosch Induction

Gas-to-induction conversions are increasingly common, but they need a wider scope than many appliance shoppers expect. The old gas line must be properly capped, and local rules may require a permit or inspection. The new induction range needs a dedicated 240-V electrical circuit sized to the selected model. The panel may need a load calculation, and in older homes it may need a breaker or panel upgrade.

Ventilation should also be reviewed. Induction creates less ambient heat than gas, but cooking still produces steam, grease, smoke, and odors. If the existing kitchen has a weak recirculating microwave vent, this is a good time to discuss a proper hood, especially in open kitchens.

From a scheduling standpoint, a simple gas-to-induction conversion can take one day if the panel is nearby, access is open, the permit is ready, and the appliance is on site. More commonly, we plan it across several steps: electrical rough-in, inspection if required, gas cap, appliance delivery, final connection, leveling, anti-tip bracket, and functional testing. If drywall fishing, panel work, or cabinet modifications are needed, expect multiple visits.

When to DIY vs. When to Hire a Pro

A homeowner can handle a few parts of the process without taking on electrical risk. You can measure the opening, photograph the panel and existing receptacle, confirm the model number, test cookware for induction compatibility, clear the delivery path, and remove loose items from nearby cabinets. You can also compare appliance dimensions against Bosch installation instructions before ordering.

Hire a professional when the work involves a new 240-V circuit, breaker replacement, panel changes, hardwired range connection, gas-line capping, cabinet cutting, countertop modification, or any uncertainty about the existing wiring. A slide-in range also needs careful leveling and anti-tip installation. Done poorly, it can leave uneven gaps, scratched floors, damaged countertops, or a safety issue.

We recommend an in-home pre-install visit when replacing gas, moving the range location, installing a 36-inch model, working in a pre-1996 electrical system, or seeing any sign of older wiring. The visit may cost money upfront, but it is cheaper than having a $5,000 appliance sitting in the dining room while the project waits for electrical corrections.

How We Would Choose

For most standard kitchen remodels, we would start with the Bosch 800 Series HEI8056U. It has the best balance of Bosch finish, convection oven features, radiant-electric familiarity, and controlled installed cost. It is the right answer when the homeowner wants a better range but does not need induction.

For homeowners who cook daily and care about speed and temperature control, the HII8057U is the better 30-inch upgrade. It costs more, but the cooking experience is meaningfully different. Just budget for cookware review, electrical verification, and possible circuit work before ordering.

For design-led kitchens, the HIS8055U is the more specialized 30-inch induction choice. We like it when the homeowner wants knobs and a pro-style look, but we make sure they understand the 3.9-cubic-foot oven and hardwired installation. For a 36-inch luxury kitchen, the HIS8655U belongs in a remodel plan with cabinets, counters, hood, and electrical all coordinated together.

The right Bosch electric range is the one that fits the house as well as the cooking routine. Start with the electrical nameplate and installation instructions, then price the appliance. That order prevents the most expensive surprises.
