The companies separately stated an 800 W grid-feed-in limit, up to 2,000 W of socket feed-in for self-consumption, and up to 3,000 VA from an emergency-power socket.
What did indielux and EPP Solar announce?
On 5 November 2024, indielux and EPP Solar announced a ready2plugin system with a scalable array rated at approximately 3,000–6,000 Wp. The system was described as combining indielux’s power monitor with a Growatt WR SPH 3000 TL_BL_UP inverter. The companies called it the world’s largest or most powerful plug-in solar system; that superlative is a company claim, not an independently verified ranking.
The distinction between the panel rating and the system’s other power figures matters. Wp describes the panels’ peak nameplate capacity under standard test conditions. It is not a promise of the same output at every moment, and it does not specify how much power can be fed through a socket or exported to the grid.
Three different output figures in the announcement

Those figures describe different parts of the system and should not be collapsed into a single “6 kW output” claim. The announcement does not establish that all listed outputs are available simultaneously or under every operating condition.

What did the companies claim about annual generation, price and availability?
Indielux and EPP Solar said bifacial panels could produce up to 6,600 kWh per year. That is a company estimate, not a measured result applicable to every home. Actual generation depends on the installed array, orientation, shading, location and weather.
The launch announcement gave a starting price of about €4,700 and claimed a price advantage of up to 55% compared with a conventional residential PV system with storage. These are November 2024 company claims, not current quotes or independently demonstrated savings. The companies named Germany, France, Austria, Poland and Spain as distribution markets at launch; that dated statement does not confirm present availability in those countries.

How much battery storage did the announced system include?
The reported capacity is inconsistent. The companies’ November 2024 release mentions 7.7 kWh in its narrative, but its technical-data table lists 5.1 kWh for a 48 V LiFePO4 battery, expandable to 25.6 kWh. An Interesting Engineering report also gives 7.7 kWh. Without clarification of the exact configuration, neither figure should be treated as a settled specification for every version of the package.
How do the German rules affect a 6 kWp plug-in system?
German product-standard limits, electrical installation requirements, grid-connection procedures and registration are separate questions. A large panel array does not become suitable for an ordinary household outlet just because a simplified registration route exists.

What the DKE says about the product standard
The DKE FAQ for DIN VDE V 0126-95:2025-12 describes a maximum inverter feed-in of 800 VA. It gives a maximum total module capacity of 960 Wp when using a household plug, and up to 2,000 Wp with a special energy plug; for that special socket, the FAQ says installation by a qualified electrician is required. Systems above the limits it describes are not Steckersolargeräte under that product standard and must be considered ordinary PV systems under installation requirements.
These stated limits are a product-standard baseline, not proof of the conformity status of every ready2plugin configuration. The 6 kWp configuration announced by the companies is above the FAQ’s stated module limits for household-plug and special-energy-plug systems. Its appropriate product-standard route, safety equipment and installation requirements must be established for the exact configuration rather than inferred from the headline.

Registration is not the same as permission to use any outlet
The DKE FAQ says the cited EEG change removes registration of Steckersolargeräte with the individual grid operator, while registration in Germany’s Marktstammdatenregister remains due within one month after commissioning. The FAQ also points to grid-connection and electrical-installation rules. Registration treatment therefore does not establish that a particular device complies with its product standard or that its connection can be made without qualified work.
In an April 2026 pv magazine interview, indielux founder Marcus Vietzke discussed VDE-AR-N 4105:2026-03 and a simplified process for certain systems with inverter apparent power up to 800 VA. He distinguished that grid-operator process from the technical norms that still apply to the device and installation. This should not be read as a blanket statement that any 6 kWp array may be connected to any outlet without an electrician. For a specific installation, confirm the product’s declared conformity and the applicable local requirements with a qualified professional.

Is the current indielux Growatt kit the same product?
Not on the information available in the product listing. Indielux’s currently accessible “Growatt Hybrid-Core” listing describes a related kit with up to 8,000 W of solar capacity and 25.6 kWh of storage, identifies a Growatt SPH 3000TL BL-UP inverter, and offers variants and component options. It is not evidence that the exact 3–6 kWp package announced in 2024 is currently for sale. Listing contents, prices and delivery details can change.
The inverter is only one component of a complete system. Buyers or project specifiers comparing configurations should check the array rating, inverter AC rating, permitted socket and grid-feed-in levels, battery configuration, backup output, connection method, safety equipment, applicable national rules and whether the offer is for the 2024 package or a later related kit.
