House Digest identified the Timberline in a September 27, 2025 article and reported 483 square feet of total floor area, including a loft, plus a price of $40,200 at that time. Those are dated secondary-source figures, not confirmation of todayโs listing or price.
Which Amazon tiny home has the covered porch?
The likely match is the Allwood Timberline Cabin. House Digestโs September 27, 2025 article describes an Amazon-listed Timberline with a covered front porch, but the originating title match and the current Amazon listing status have not been confirmed. The Timberline is best understood as a cabin kit that requires construction and finishing work, rather than a completed home. House Digestโs article is the source for the product description and reported figures.
How large is the Timberline, and how is it laid out?
House Digest reported 483 square feet total: 348 square feet of main living area and a 129-square-foot loft. The article also describes another room that could be used as an office or spare bedroom. The porch is described as covered, but the reported area breakdown does not identify it as part of the 483-square-foot total.
The loft contributes to the total area, so the 483-square-foot figure should not be read as 483 square feet of main-floor living space. Buyers comparing cabin kits should check how each seller counts enclosed rooms, lofts and porches before comparing floor-area numbers.

What comes in the cabin kitโand what does not?
House Digest describes a Norway spruce cabin with double-glazed windows and pre-hung windows and doors. Reported kit contents include floor and roof construction materials and assembly hardware such as nails and screws. It is an unfinished shell, so the included structural components do not amount to a ready-to-occupy interior.
The article says buyers need to budget separately for roof shingles, tar paper, foundation materials, interior fittings and fixtures. It does not establish the Timberlineโs current shipping terms, full bill of materials or installed project cost. Before ordering, obtain the current manufacturer or seller specification and confirm exactly which components are included.

What work and site planning should buyers expect?
According to House Digest, assembly calls for at least two people and basic building skills; the company recommends a forklift or small crane because of the cabinโs height. The article also says painting or staining is required for warranty coverage. These are reported requirements, not independently confirmed current instructions or warranty terms, so check the latest documents before planning labor or equipment.
A kit is only one part of a build. Foundation and site preparation, roofing, interior completion, and utility connections can all affect the work and budget. The cited sources do not establish whether the Timberline meets building or zoning requirements in any particular location.

How to compare the Timberline with other kit homes
Kit homes vary substantially in what they supply: some are primarily shells, while others offer additional components or upgrades. Bob Vilaโs kit-home guide, updated March 20, 2025, provides broader examples, but its prices are time-sensitive and should not be treated as current quotes. Compare prospective kits on the same practical terms:
- Area and layout: Separate enclosed main-floor space from loft area, and check whether any porch is included in the stated total.
- Included materials: Verify the shell, windows, doors, roof covering, foundation components, hardware, insulation and interior fittings item by item.
- Construction needs: Confirm crew size, lifting equipment, foundation requirements, permits, utility work and finishing tasks.
- Full project budget: Add the current kit price to shipping, site preparation, foundation, roofing, insulation, utilities, interior fixtures and labor. No current total installed cost for the Timberline is established by the cited sources.
- Intended use: An office, guest space, seasonal cabin and full-time residence can have different completion and local approval requirements. The sources do not verify code compliance for any jurisdiction.
Are insulation and termite-treatment options available?
House Digest reports that thicker walls or an insulation package may be options for colder climates, and factory termite treatment may be available for warmer climates. Because the article is dated, confirm current availability, specifications and pricing with the seller or manufacturer before relying on either option.

What does the reported price tell you?
House Digest reported a $40,200 price for the Timberline in its 2025 article. That is a dated reported price, not a verified current Amazon price or a complete build budget. The same article identifies multiple materials and interior items that require separate budgeting, and the cited sources do not establish todayโs shipping cost, current availability or total installed cost.
