Posha Robot Chef: What the $1,500 Kitchen Robot Does—and What It Doesn’t

Posha Robot Chef can automate active cooking and stirring, but ingredient prep remains yours. Its official US page lists a limited-time $1,500 offer and a March 2027 next-batch ship date.

The product behind the $1,500 kitchen-robot headline is Posha Robot Chef, a countertop appliance that automates active cooking with computer vision, ingredient dispensers and a robotic stirring arm. It can take over cooking and stirring, but you still prepare ingredients. Posha’s US product page currently advertises a limited-time $1,500 price, with the next batch scheduled to ship in March 2027—not immediately. See Posha’s current offer and shipping terms.

What is the $1,500 kitchen robot?

It is Posha Robot Chef, a countertop cooking appliance—not a general-purpose household robot. The Verge’s December 2025 review describes a system that uses computer vision to monitor food, automated dispensers for ingredients and spices, and a robotic arm to stir while a guided cooking process runs.

That combination is intended to automate the active cooking portion of a meal. It does not eliminate ingredient preparation or make the entire kitchen workflow hands-off. The Verge reviewer, Jennifer Pattison Tuohy, reported that users still need to prep ingredients and use an app-connected workflow; the review also says the appliance requires an internet connection. Read The Verge’s December 2025 review.

What does Posha automate—and what remains your job?

Part of the process What the sources describe
Active cooking The appliance cooks a meal using a guided process, with computer vision observing the food.
Stirring A robotic arm stirs during cooking.
Ingredient and spice dispensing Automated dispensers release ingredients and spices.
Ingredient preparation You still handle preparation; the review does not describe a machine that takes raw groceries through every prep step.
Connectivity The Verge review reports an app-connected workflow and an internet requirement.

These are descriptions and observations from the cited review, not independent test results for this article. Posha’s December 2025 syndicated coverage also describes a camera observing changes in food such as color and texture, but the hands-on Verge review is the stronger source for how the appliance works and its limitations.

How much does Posha Robot Chef cost, and when does it ship?

At the time of writing, Posha’s official US product page lists a limited-time price of $1,500 against a displayed regular price of $1,750. The company says units are limited and that the next batch ships in March 2027. That schedule means buyers should not read the advertised price as an indication of immediate delivery. Prices and availability can change; check the official product page for current terms.

The same page says customers can reserve with a refundable $25 deposit, pay the remaining balance when the unit ships, and use a 30-day return and exchange policy. These are the company’s stated terms, so review the page and checkout conditions before placing an order.

Is there a subscription fee?

A subscription may be an additional cost, but the available current product-page information does not establish its present price. The Verge reported a $15-per-month subscription in its December 2025 review; treat that as a historical figure, not a confirmed current charge. Posha’s 2026 cost article discusses hardware separately from optional recipe membership and frames the product as a broader cooking system. Check current membership terms at checkout before budgeting for recurring costs. Posha’s 2026 article on cooking-robot costs.

What are the trade-offs?

The Verge reviewer reported good food, time savings and autonomous cooking as advantages. The same review noted a high upfront cost, ingredient-prep work, software bugs, a large countertop footprint and reliance on an internet connection. Those observations are the reviewer’s account, not a guarantee of results in every kitchen or with every recipe.

Who is this cooking robot for?

Posha may suit someone who values help with active cooking and stirring, has room for a substantial countertop appliance, and is comfortable doing prep and using a connected cooking workflow. It is a less obvious fit for someone seeking a fully hands-off meal from unprepared ingredients, an appliance with no internet dependence, or a lower-cost purchase without recurring-service uncertainty.

When comparing it with another cooking appliance, compare the job rather than the headline price alone: which cooking tasks it handles, how much prep and cleanup remain, whether there are ongoing software or recipe costs, how much counter space it takes, whether it needs internet access, and when it can actually be delivered. Posha’s own 2026 cost article distinguishes a self-cooking pot from a full cooking system, so those products should not be treated as equivalent without checking what each does.
