Can you change the drawer count or spacing?
Yes. WOOD Magazine says builders can vary both the number of drawers and the spacing between them. That makes it possible to adapt the layout to the tools you need to store, but the public project summary does not provide alternate drawings or explain the structural changes for a modified layout.

Before changing the design, use the full plan to check the cabinet construction and drawer-slide placement. Measure the tools you want to store and confirm the clear drawer height each needs. The summary does not establish slide dimensions, side-clearance requirements or load ratings, so those should not be guessed from the published overall dimensions.
What hardware and materials should you buy?
The description specifies full-extension drawers, so full-extension drawer slides are the relevant hardware category. It does not identify a slide length, mounting style, load capacity or brand. Consult the plan’s drawings and parts list before selecting slides; a generic category search is not enough to establish compatibility.
