The Samsung dishwasher LC code (also shown as LE on some models) means the appliance detected moisture where it should not be. It can appear even when you cannot see a leak. Switch off power before inspecting, check for active leaks and accessible causes, and let incidental moisture dry before restoring power. Resetting alone will not fix an ongoing leak.
What the LC code means
Samsung describes LC/LE as a leakage alert triggered when moisture reaches the sensor. A small amount of water or moisture near the sensor can be enough, so a dry-looking floor does not rule it out. What to do first if you see LC
- Isolate power. Switch off the dishwasher at the circuit breaker before inspecting. If you can safely unplug it without approaching wet electrical areas, that is another option. Do not touch wet electrical components or dismantle the appliance.
- Contain visible water. If water is leaking, stop the water supply where possible. Wipe up the surrounding area and see whether water returns. If it does, treat it as an active leak and do not restart the dishwasher.
- Check accessible causes. With power off, inspect the supply hose and both connections for looseness, damage, gaps, or moisture. If the unit was recently connected to a garbage disposal, check that the disposal inlet knockout cap was removed.
- Check detergent use. Make sure detergent was added only to the dispenser, which was not overfilled. Use automatic dishwasher detergent as labeled, not handwashing liquid; excess detergent or rinse aid can contribute to the alert.
- Consider recent movement. If the dishwasher was recently moved and there is no continuing leak, moisture may have splashed near the sensor. Allow the unit time to dry before restoring power.
- Restore power and observe. Once an identified cause is corrected or incidental moisture has dried, restore power and check whether LC returns. If it does, stop troubleshooting and arrange service.

How to reset the dishwasher after troubleshooting
Reset only after checking for a leak and correcting any accessible cause. Samsung’s basic reset is to unplug the dishwasher or switch off its circuit breaker, wait usually 1–5 minutes, then restore power. When the problem needs service
Request Samsung support or qualified appliance service if water keeps returning, LC reappears after the checks, or you suspect a fault in an internal component. Samsung lists the pump, tub, and dispenser among possible sources of leakage errors. Do not try to access or repair internal components as a first step.

Not every Samsung dishwasher has the same layout. Waterwall models may show LC/LE if the water reflector is blocked; a forward-leaning or unlevel installation and a clogged filter may also matter on some models. Consult the manual for the exact model before adjusting or cleaning components.
