To change the clock on a Samsung microwave, use the button sequence for your exact model: Samsung says clock-setting steps vary by model, so there is no universal sequence. Find the model code, match it to the control panel or manual, then enter and confirm the time as directed. The examples below are U.S.-specific unless noted; Samsung’s instructions can differ by country and purchase region.
Find your microwave’s model code first
Look for the model code on the appliance’s rating plate or sticker. Samsung Germany says it is commonly on the back of the microwave or inside the door frame. Use that code to find the matching manual or support page; Samsung U.S. directs owners to the manual for their exact model.
Samsung’s U.S. guide, Set the clock time on your Samsung microwave, covers several control-panel families but cautions that the steps vary. If your panel does not match an example below, do not guess at a sequence: look up the model code in the manual or regional support site.
Use the sequence that matches your control panel
These are examples from Samsung support, not one-size-fits-all instructions. Follow the confirmation key shown for your model.

For an Australian dial-control model
Samsung Australia’s instructions apply to Australian products only. On the dial-control models covered, press OK/Clock, use the dial to choose 12- or 24-hour notation and confirm, set and confirm the hour, then set the minutes and confirm to start the clock. For European models
Samsung Germany lists separate procedures for families including MS23B3515, MG23DG4524A / MG23B3515, and MS23K3513. Depending on the model, controls may include Clock or Select/Clock with up/down buttons, or a dial and selection key. Use the matching model instructions on Samsung Germany’s clock-setting page; Samsung notes that model and sequence can vary by market.

When the clock needs resetting
On Australian models covered by Samsung’s support page, set the time at first installation and after a power failure. That page says the display may show “88:88” and then “12:00” when power is supplied; these display details are regional guidance, not a promise for every Samsung microwave. Samsung Germany likewise describes “88:88” or “12:00” after connection or a power failure for the model families on its page.
After a daylight-saving change, adjust the displayed time manually if your microwave does not do so automatically. Samsung’s Germany support page specifically says to change the time for summer or winter time; check the manual for your market and model.

If the buttons do not work as expected
- The sequence does not start: Check the model code and use the corresponding manual. Some models require holding Clock; others use a single press, Options, My Settings, Power Level, arrows, or a dial.
- The entered time is wrong: Check whether the model uses 12- or 24-hour format and whether it requires a separate AM/PM choice. Then repeat the steps and use the specified confirmation control.
- The display is still blinking: The clock may not have been confirmed, or the microwave may need its time reset after a power interruption. Follow the model-specific instructions rather than assuming the same reset sequence applies across models.
