On most Samsung ranges, set the time at the control panel: press Clock or Clock/Setting, enter the time with the number pad or directional controls, then confirm with Clock or START/SET. Smart Dial and touchscreen ovens use different menus, and SmartThings does not set the clock on every model. Follow the instructions for your exact model if the controls or prompts differ.
Set the clock on a Samsung range with buttons
On conventional models, start by pressing the control labeled Clock or displaying a clock icon. If the display asks for AM or PM, choose the correct option; skip this step if the range uses a 24-hour clock or does not show an AM/PM prompt. Enter the time using the number pad or directional buttons, then press Clock or START/SET to save it. Samsung’s example for number-pad entry is 1, 3, 0 for 1:30. If you enter the wrong time, some models let you clear the entry and begin again. Samsung’s Canadian guide and its U.S. range instructions describe these common approaches.
The exact sequence depends on the control panel. For example, Samsung says to press Clock/Setting, enter hours and minutes on the number pad, and confirm with Clock or START/SET on the NE63*631*S* family. On the NE63*611*S* family, its instructions instead say to press and hold Clock/Setting, use Up/Down to set the time, and confirm. Do not assume that a long press or button sequence for one family applies to another; on some models, holding a control can open a separate settings function.
Set the time on a Samsung Smart Dial range
- Wake the control panel if needed by pushing or turning the dial. Samsung says some Smart Dial models enter Sleep mode after two minutes without control-panel activity.
- Tap Menu, shown as three horizontal lines.
- Turn the dial to select Set time, then use the dial to enter the time.
- Push the dial to confirm.
Where the option is available, the Menu also lets you choose a time format, such as 12-hour or 24-hour. Samsung describes this dial-based method in its range clock guide. Some specific panels use different menu names: for example, Samsung’s instructions for the NE63*875*S* family use Options and the dial.

When can SmartThings or a touchscreen set the time?
Some touchscreen ovens offer date and time settings on the appliance itself. Samsung Canada’s guide says supported touchscreen models can set date and time automatically when Wi-Fi is on, or allow manual time-zone, date, and time settings after automatic mode is turned off. The available controls depend on the model and region; the Canadian instructions apply to ranges sold in Canada.
Samsung Germany describes time synchronization through the device’s app settings for some built-in ovens that have Smart Control and are connected to SmartThings. This is a conditional feature, not a universal way to set the clock on Samsung ranges. Samsung’s German built-in oven guide was last updated September 29, 2026. Wi-Fi or SmartThings setup alone does not establish that a particular range supports clock synchronization; check the model’s manual and regional instructions.

Reset the clock after a power outage
After a power outage, use the procedure for your control-panel type to enter the current time again. An accurate clock also supports automatic functions such as delayed cooking and Sabbath mode on models that offer those features. If the controls do not match the steps above, find the range’s model number and consult its Samsung manual. Samsung notes that instructions and regional settings vary by model and country; its support page provides a route to the model’s manual: How to set the clock on your Samsung range.

These are different interfaces, not interchangeable labels for one universal procedure. If the model number, country, or panel menu differs from an example here, use the matching regional support page or manual rather than guessing at a button combination.
