The Krenov Archive documents one distinct example, a V-front wall cabinet: its notes describe developing the doors first, determining dimensions during the making process, and using dovetailed interior top and bottom pieces for structural strength. Use the plan’s own drawings and instructions to resolve the decisions that affect cost, fit, and build order. Check these items before selecting stock or beginning layout:

- Overall size and footprint: confirm finished height, width, depth, and any dimensions that affect placement or access.
- Case and stand proportions: identify which parts form the cabinet case and which form the base or stand, and check how they connect.
- Cutlist and stock: verify each component’s dimensions, thickness, quantity, species or stock notes, and any allowance needed for milling.
- Joinery and assembly: confirm the specified joints, sequence, and any parts that must be fitted before the case is assembled.
- Doors and hardware: check door construction, hinge or other hardware requirements, and the clearances shown in the drawings.
- Tools, finish, and skill level: rely on the plan for its stated requirements rather than inferring difficulty from the design label.
If any of those details are absent or unclear in the file, resolve them against the plan’s drawings or publisher information before cutting. A related project’s cutlist or construction notes cannot safely fill a gap in this plan.
