Start by finding the washer’s complete model number: “Series 100” alone is not enough to identify its controls, manual, or compatible parts. Record the number, note exactly what the washer does (and any displayed code or flashing lights), then check the manual for that exact model before trying a reset or replacing anything.
Find the full model number first
Kenmore’s manual lookup asks for a model number and says Kenmore model numbers are at least 11 characters long. Use the number from your washer’s identification label, not just the “Series 100” name, to locate the correct owner’s manual. Keep the full number handy when contacting support or checking parts.
Also write down the symptom: no power, no fill, a cycle that stays on sensing, no drain, no spin, unusual noise, or a displayed code or flashing lights. Those details—and the model number—are needed before a reset sequence, code interpretation, or part recommendation can be made reliably.
Try only basic checks confirmed by your washer’s manual
Instructions can differ between Kenmore models. The troubleshooting excerpt in the owner’s manual for model 26-20232, for example, includes these checks. They are examples for that model, not verified instructions for every Series 100 washer; confirm each step in your own manual before applying it.

- If the washer will not run: Check that it has power at the grounded outlet, and check whether a circuit breaker has tripped or a fuse has blown.
- If the washer will not run or fill: Make sure the lid is closed, as directed in that model’s troubleshooting guidance.
- If spinning is the concern: That manual notes that a tightly packed load can affect spinning and suggests rearranging the load. Follow your own manual’s instructions for the specific symptom.
- If a cycle seems paused: The same manual notes that some pauses are normal. Check your model’s manual for what to expect during its cycle before treating a pause as a fault.
If it is stuck on sensing, will not drain, or still will not work
Do not assume that “stuck in sensing” identifies a particular failed part or that one reset procedure applies across Series 100 washers. The available model-specific information does not establish a universal reset sequence or error-code table. Use the manual for your complete model number, and record any code or light pattern before seeking help.
If the basic checks in the matching manual do not resolve the issue, Kenmore’s customer care page lists support options that include manuals and literature, parts, warranty information, and repair or home-service routes. Check warranty information before arranging a repair or buying a part.

Verify a part before buying it
Buy a replacement only after the model is identified and the fault supports that part as the cause. A parts listing for Kenmore model 11020372711 illustrates how diagrams and parts references are tied to a particular model; it does not establish that its parts fit your washer.
A drain hose is relevant only if inspection or model-specific troubleshooting points to a hose problem, such as damage or a kink. Before ordering one, verify the exact washer model and the hose’s connection requirements. A hose is not a default fix for a sensing, lid, power, or control symptom.
