Start with the manual for your exact Paslode model: cleaning steps are not universal. For the cordless XPro 30° framing nailer CF325XPRO24 (item 906800/906800DHL), Paslode’s procedure is to remove fasteners, fuel and battery, clean the filter and specified internal parts with the recommended cleaner, lubricate only where directed, then fully reassemble and check operation. Do not use the disassembly steps below for another model unless its manual says to.
Find your model’s manual in Paslode’s official tool-manual library. The detailed procedure here is Paslode document 906868-1, dated August 30, 2024.
What you need before cleaning
- The manual for your exact nailer. The steps below apply only to the CF325XPRO24 / item 906800 cordless XPro 30° framing nailer.
- Paslode Cordless Tool Cleaner/Degreaser, part 219348 (Canada: 219086), and Paslode Cordless Tool Lubricating Oil, part 401482. Paslode warns that other cleaners may damage electrical, plastic or rubber parts or leave residue, while other oils may increase combustion residue. Its cordless nailers do not need routine oiling during normal operation; use oil after cleaning only where the manual directs.
- A clean, lint-free rag and a 5/32-inch hex key (part 401331). The procedure says this key is supplied with the cited framing nailer.
Paslode’s Cordless XPro 30° Framing Nailer product FAQ identifies the recommended cleaner and oil. Follow the cleaner manufacturer’s directions as well as the nailer manual.
Make the nailer safe to service
- Remove all fasteners, the fuel cell and the battery. Paslode’s procedure states: “Remove all fasteners, fuel, and battery prior to servicing the tool.”
- Let the tool cool before spraying cleaner. Do not spray a hot nailer.
- Work from the model-specific procedure and diagrams. If your model’s manual does not authorize the work, or you are unsure how to proceed, stop and contact Paslode or a trained technician.

1. Wash and dry the grille and filter
Remove the grille and air filter. Wash them with soapy water or Paslode Cordless Tool Cleaner/Degreaser, then let both dry completely before refitting.
2. Separate the assemblies carefully
With the specified 5/32-inch hex key, loosen the two nose-piece screws and remove the handle-magazine assembly. Follow the illustrated order to remove the cap, disconnect and slide out the magnet cartridge, and separate the handle-magazine and motor assemblies. Avoid pulling wires or damaging the fan, fan shaft, foam pad or combustion chamber.
3. Clean the cylinder head and seal area
Spray cleaner on the cylinder head, including around the spark plug, and allow dirt to drip away. Keep overspray and dirty cleaner out of the handle. Wipe with a clean, lint-free rag; repeat if deposits remain. Clean and clear the seal rings and spark plug as shown in the manual.
4. Lubricate the seal rings as directed
Apply Paslode Cordless Tool Lubricating Oil (part 401482) evenly to the seal rings. The manual specifies the position of the seal-ring gaps during reassembly; follow its diagram. Push the piston assembly down using the handle of a screwdriver or a clean piece of wood.

6. Apply only the manual’s remaining measured oil

- Reverse the specified disassembly sequence, using the manual’s illustrations to confirm component placement.
- Secure the cap assembly and firmly tighten all four cylinder-head screws before operating. Paslode warns: “Never operate the Paslode Cordless Framing nailer unless all four Socket Head Cap Screws are firmly tightened on the cylinder head.” An unsecured cap can release burning gases; loose screws can damage the tool and create fire or injury risks.
- Only after complete reassembly, check the tool for proper operation as directed by the manual. Paslode notes that some smoke may come from the exhaust during the first few cycles as excess oil burns off.
How often should you clean it?
Follow the interval guidance for your model and adjust it to working conditions. Paslode says cleaning frequency depends on nail count and conditions: dirty environments and sustained high firing rates call for shorter intervals. Its chart is a guideline; shorten the interval if the tool becomes excessively dirty between cleanings, or lengthen it if it does not need cleaning at the scheduled interval.
Paslode’s XPro product FAQ separately says cordless nailers may require cleaning after driving 10,000 nails or more. Treat that as a broad manufacturer benchmark, not a fixed interval that overrides the model’s condition-based guidance. Paslode also lists annual cleaning and day-to-day maintenance videos on its service videos page.

If the tool makes an unusual fan noise, Paslode advises switching it off and checking whether cleaning is needed and whether the fuel cell is expired or empty. If the noise continues, contact Paslode. Its troubleshooting FAQ also lists battery charge, a dirty filter, correct nail loading and jams as checks; these are diagnostic checks, not substitutes for the safe servicing procedure.
Do not continue beyond the field-service steps allowed by your model’s manual. For service or parts, use Paslode’s troubleshooting and FAQ page to find its recommended support route, and verify that any cleaning kit or part fits your model.
