Start with the washer’s full model number and the country where it was sold: Samsung’s dispenser compartments and controls vary by model and market. If the auto dispenser empties unusually quickly, first check the dose and concentration settings, then confirm the products and compartments are correct. A rapid emptying problem on the Bespoke AI Combo may instead match a specific siphoning fault Samsung says to contact it about.
1. Identify your washer model and market
Find the model code on the washer’s product label, then open the matching manual through Samsung Support. Use that manual for the exact menu path, drawer layout, and cleaning instructions. Do not assume a setting or compartment instruction for one region applies to another: Samsung’s Australian compartment guidance, for example, is specifically for Australian products.
2. Check the detergent and softener dose settings
On models that offer them, review Dose per Wash for detergent and Dose per Rinse for softener. They are separate controls. If a setting is higher than appropriate for the load and the product being used, lower it using the steps in your model’s manual.
Some models also let you set detergent concentration. Samsung’s Caribbean guidance gives 1x, 2x, and 3x as example settings; it says that for products above 3x concentration, set concentration to 3x and reduce the dose as well. These labels and levels are model-specific, so use them only if they match your washer’s controls. See Samsung’s Caribbean auto-dispense guidance.

3. Confirm the product belongs in that compartment
Check both the washer manual and the product label. Samsung US says its washers require HE detergent, and warns that using too much can cause buildup and affect performance. Samsung Australia describes the automatic detergent compartment on covered models as for liquid detergent only, and the automatic softener compartment as for fabric softener only. Those compartment instructions are regional and model-specific; do not apply them to a different washer without checking its manual.
Samsung’s regional instructions are available at Samsung US detergent guidance and Samsung Australia’s detergent-drawer guide.

4. Check drawer seating and residue
Make sure the drawer is fully inserted and closed. If liquid detergent has hardened in the drawer, Samsung Australia advises removing the rinse cap and cleaning the drawer. Follow the removal and cleaning instructions for your specific model; drawer designs and safe removal steps vary.
5. Distinguish a delayed refill alert from excess dispensing
A refill message does not always mean the reservoir is empty at the moment you see it. On covered Samsung US models, the alert may remain until the washer next attempts to use that compartment: detergent may be checked at the start of a wash, while softener may not be checked until the last-rinse drain point. Samsung says a Rinse + Spin cycle can prompt an earlier softener check on covered models.

Samsung documents a specific issue for the Bespoke AI Combo: air inside the washer and increased water pressure during draining can create a siphoning effect that empties the detergent and softener modules within a few wash cycles. Samsung describes it this way: “This happens when air inside the washer and water pressure increases which creates a syphoning effect during the drain cycle.” This explanation applies to the Combo issue on Samsung’s support page, not to all Samsung washers.

Parts may look similar, but using the wrong part can result in improper fit, malfunction, or serious damage. Please verify with your appliance’s model number for compatibility. Installing an incorrect part may cause internal component failure and could potentially render your appliance completely unusable.
For this symptom on a Bespoke AI Combo, contact Samsung for resolution rather than treating routine drawer disassembly as the repair. Samsung’s page includes emergency draining and filter steps, but directs owners to contact Samsung about the issue: Too much or all detergent dispenses on Bespoke AI Combo.
Quick Recap
Which symptom points to which check?
| What you notice | What to check first |
