The current Bobcat E32 and standard E35 both list 24.8 hp and nearly identical standard-arm digging depth. The practical differences are configuration, width, weight, and tail swing: Bobcat lists the E32 as narrower and conventionally configured, while the standard E35 has zero tail swing and more listed ground reach. Choose by the machine’s exact setup and the constraints of your site—not just its model number.
Bobcat E35 vs. E32: current specifications
The figures below compare Bobcat’s current E32 specifications with its standard E35 (25 HP) configuration. They are manufacturer specifications, not independent productivity-test results.

Bobcat lists the standard E35 as 256 lb heavier than the E32, and with 9.8 in more standard-arm ground reach. The listed digging depths are equivalent: 10.1 ft is 121.2 in. What the tail-swing difference means on a jobsite
The standard E35 is listed as zero tail swing; the E32 has conventional tail swing and a listed 13.4 in overhang. That distinction matters when the excavator must work close to a wall, vehicle, trench edge, or other obstruction. Zero tail swing can reduce rear-end clearance concerns, but it does not guarantee higher productivity or eliminate the need to plan the machine’s full working envelope.

E35 arm options change the comparison
“E35” does not describe one fixed digging configuration. Bobcat lists these E35 variants:

The optional arms increase listed reach and depth, but they also change operating weight and arm force. Bobcat describes the extendable arm as clamp-ready. These figures apply to the specified E35 configurations; do not apply them to every E35 or assume they are directly comparable to an E32 option without checking its exact specification. Bobcat’s current E32 comparison page lists standard, long-arm, and extendable-arm entries at 7,403 lb and 10.1 ft standard-arm depth, but those matching listed values alone do not establish that all arm capabilities are identical in use. Which machine fits your site and work?
- Choose around tail-swing clearance. Consider whether the rear of the machine can safely swing beside structures, traffic, or other obstacles.
- Check access and transport width. Bobcat lists the E32 at 61.8 in wide and standard E35 at 69.7 in. Verify the quoted machine’s dimensions, trailer capacity, attachments, and applicable transport requirements.
- Match reach and depth to the task. Standard-arm digging depths are essentially the same; the E35’s optional arms offer greater listed depth with different weight and arm-force figures.
- Compare complete configurations. Include arm, cab, blade, hydraulics, and attachments in the specification and transport-weight check.
- Get a local, itemized quote. Ask the dealer to identify the exact configuration and clarify warranty, service access, parts availability, freight, and tax for your location.
Used E32s: verify the model generation
Bobcat has a separate E32 page labeled “Non-Current Model.” That older E32 is listed at 33.3 hp and 7,183 lb, unlike the current E32’s 24.8 hp and 7,403 lb. For a used-machine comparison, confirm model year and serial-specific documentation rather than assuming every E32 matches the current specification page. Bobcat non-current E32 specifications.

Price: treat catalog suggestions as time-sensitive
When Bobcat’s catalog was accessed in 2026, it displayed suggested prices of $60,131 for the E32 and $58,197 for the E35 (25 HP). These are catalog suggestions, not dealer transaction prices or a total-cost comparison; availability and prices can change.
