Repair common Windows errors and clear accumulated junk for a smoother, more stable PC - no reinstall needed.Free scan · no reinstallIf your Bosch Silence Plus dishwasher is not draining, shows E24, or leaves dishes dirty, begin with checks you can do safely: inspect the filter and visible drain path, and confirm the load does not block the spray arms. Before following a reset sequence, opening the pump area, or ordering parts, find the appliance’s full model number (E-Nr.). “Silence Plus 44 dBA” alone does not identify the exact model or its controls.
Find the exact model before using repair instructions
Bosch manuals and support steps are model-specific. Locate the full model number, or E-Nr., on the appliance label and use it to find the matching manual through Bosch US owner support. Follow that manual for filter and pump-cover access, reassembly, and control-panel procedures. This guide covers general checks from Bosch’s US owner-support material; people outside the United States should use their local Bosch support site.
Why is my Bosch dishwasher not draining?
Standing water can have several causes, including a blocked filter, pump area, air gap, or drain hose, as well as a problem at the siphon connection. Check the visible drain route before assuming a part has failed.
- Check the drain hose. Look for a kink, damage, or an obvious obstruction. Do not pull the appliance out or disconnect plumbing unless you can do so safely and the model manual supports it.
- Inspect the siphon connection. Make sure the dishwasher drain hose is connected properly at the sink plumbing.
- Check the disposal inlet, if applicable. If the hose connects to a garbage disposal, its dishwasher inlet knockout plug must have been removed during installation.
- Inspect the filter and pump area. Consult the model manual for access. Bosch advises removing filter debris, washing the filter under running water with soap and a soft brush, and checking the pump area for debris or standing water. Use a sponge to remove water if needed; Bosch warns that debris may be sharp.
- Reassemble as directed. Secure the pump cover and reinstall the filter exactly as the manual specifies before running the dishwasher.
If it still will not drain after these checks, contact Bosch customer support rather than repeatedly running cycles or dismantling components.

What does E24 mean on a Bosch dishwasher?
Bosch associates E24 with a drainage problem. It does not prove that one particular component has failed: a blocked filter or hose, a pump-cover problem, or an installation issue can all be involved. Use the drainage checks above and the instructions for your exact model. Bosch’s US error-code guide provides its current code guidance.
Related codes can help frame the check without serving as a diagnosis by themselves: Bosch describes E22 as a blocked filter, E23 as a drain-pump issue, and E25 as a blocked pump or a loose or missing pump cover. Do not open electrical or sealed components based only on an error code.

How do I reset my Bosch dishwasher?
To cancel a running cycle, Bosch’s general instruction is to press and hold the control labeled “Reset 4 Sec.” or the Start button for about four seconds. The dishwasher then pumps out residual water, which takes about a minute. After cancellation, open the door and press On/Off. Confirm the label and sequence in the manual for your E-Nr.; controls can differ by model. See Bosch’s reset instructions.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Why are my dishes still dirty?
- Clean the filter regularly. Food debris can restrict circulation; use the manual’s removal and cleaning directions.
- Leave room for the spray arms. Arrange dishes so they do not obstruct arm movement.
- Check the spray-arm holes. Clear visible debris; Bosch suggests using a toothpick to loosen material in blocked holes.
- Use rinse aid as directed. Follow the manual’s instructions for adding it.
- Scrape, rather than pre-rinse. Bosch recommends scraping food off dishes before loading.
