What should you put under an air fryer?

Check the stated material and construction
Listings include silicone mats as well as a fiberglass mat with a silicone resin coating. Those materials describe different constructions, but the available product information does not establish that one offers better protection. Read the listing for the exact material and consult its care instructions before cleaning or storing the mat.
Read temperature ratings as seller claims
Some product pages publish temperature limits, but those figures are retailer or supplier claims rather than independently verified comparative test results. For example, ManoMano advertises a range of -40°F to 1300°F for its MUMU mat, while Lowe’s lists a 450°F limit for a Lukvuzo mat. Neither figure, by itself, proves how the mat performs beneath your particular appliance or guarantees that a countertop will not be damaged.

Separate convenience features from protection claims
Non-slip texture, raised edges, and detachable utensil pads may be useful for stability, spills, or storage. They do not establish greater thermal protection. Consider those features only after checking fit, material, and the appliance maker’s placement guidance.
