Choose a divider-based drawer when you need one large cavity sometimes
A flexible drawer can serve as two zones for separate foods or as one cavity for a larger item. Ninja lists the UK/ROI AF500UK as 10.4L total, configured as two 5.2L zones or one MegaZone with the divider removed. Ninja says the MegaZone fits a 2kg chicken or up to 1.4kg of fries; these are the manufacturer’s stated examples for this regional model, not a guarantee that every large dish or food arrangement will fit.
Compare cooking controls without confusing the features
Look for the named behavior on the exact model rather than assuming every dual air fryer handles its zones the same way:

These are distinct functions: matching settings is not the same as coordinating finish times. Instant’s US Vortex Plus Dual listing names Sync Cook and Sync Finish. Ninja’s UK AF300UK search listing describes Smart Finish and Match Cook, but the official page was not accessible after a redirect, so confirm its controls against the model manual or official support before buying. Measure usable cooking space and counter footprint
Total capacity alone does not tell you whether the appliance will handle your usual meals. Check the capacity of each zone, the basket or drawer shape, and whether the food you cook will fit with room for air to circulate. A fixed two-basket machine may not accommodate one large item across both chambers; a divider-based drawer can offer that option if its larger cavity is big enough.

Counter space is another trade-off. Ninja’s AF500UK main specification table lists dimensions of H 32.7 x W 49.6 x D 31.6 cm. However, a separate FAQ answer on the same product page gives 32.7 x 41.5 x 27 cm. Independent reviews offer useful context, but their rankings and observations are not a controlled cross-brand test. Ideal Home describes the FlexDrawer’s ability to switch between dual and single-zone use, its larger-food capacity, and its substantial worktop footprint. Woman & Home lists the AF300UK at 7.6L and 31.5 x 38 x 26.5 cm, and the AF500UK at 10.4L and 32.7 x 49.6 x 31.6 cm; those are that publisher’s reported specifications and review context.
