How long is a RYOBI battery warranty?
The older RYOBI Power Tool Limited Three Year Warranty and 90 Day Exchange Policy states, “Batteries are warranted for three years.” The document’s exact publication year has not been established, so treat that term as historical guidance rather than proof of coverage for a particular battery.
RYOBI’s current warranty and service hub lists a Batteries & Chargers category, but the detailed terms are not available in the accessible page content. Check the warranty applicable to your battery and ask RYOBI to confirm coverage using the model number, purchase date, and country. The support contacts and claim routes below are U.S.-oriented and should not be assumed to apply worldwide.
How to claim a battery warranty
- Identify the battery. Read its label and note the model number and voltage platform. Battery systems are not interchangeable by assumption; for example, RYOBI describes its 18V ONE+ 4Ah battery as compatible with RYOBI 18V ONE+ products.
- Find your proof of purchase. Keep a receipt or other dated proof showing when you bought the battery. RYOBI’s older warranty document calls for proof of purchase that includes the purchase date, and its service-center instructions require proof to validate coverage.

- Follow the route support confirms. Depending on the product and eligibility, RYOBI may direct you to online Rapid Repair or an authorized service center. Ask support to confirm which option applies before sending or taking the battery in.

What can affect coverage?
The older RYOBI warranty document describes coverage for defects in workmanship or materials, limits coverage to the original retail purchaser, and says it is not transferable. These provisions come from that older document; the applicable current warranty and RYOBI’s review determine an individual claim.

Do not assume a battery is covered solely because it is less than three years old. Confirm the terms for the specific model and purchase, and let RYOBI assess the reported problem.

If RYOBI confirms the battery is out of warranty, check the replacement’s voltage system and model compatibility before purchase. For example, the RYOBI 4Ah PBP004 listing is specifically for the 18V ONE+ platform; it should not be treated as a match for other RYOBI voltage systems.
