The clearest recent reports distinguish a sale of his long-associated Los Feliz compound from separate Los Feliz and Hollywood Hills purchases. Those are reported transactions, not confirmation of current ownership or residence.
What is known—and what is not
Celebrity property roundups document reported purchases, sales and past residences, but they do not amount to a current ownership inventory. The accounts cited here do not include deed records or official transaction documents sufficient to verify Pitt’s complete present-day portfolio. Architectural Digest also describes the Missouri property story as a rumor and says it found no public records for it. Architectural Digest’s portfolio retrospective is useful historical context, not proof of what Pitt owns now.

The practical distinction is between a past holding, a reported acquisition or sale, and a confirmed current residence. The available reports support the first three in several cases; they do not settle the last.
Reported properties and transactions
| Location | What coverage reports | What that establishes |
|---|---|---|
| Los Feliz, Los Angeles | Reported 1994 purchase for $1.7 million; larger compound later reported sold for $33 million; separate mid-century home reportedly acquired in 2023 for $5.5 million. | Historical and reported transactions; not a verified current inventory. |
| Carmel, California | Reported 2022 purchase of a coastal property for about $40 million. | A reported acquisition; current ownership and residence are not established. |
| Hollywood Hills, Los Angeles | Reported 2025 purchase of a Spanish-style property for about $12 million. | A reported acquisition based on deal sources; current ownership is not independently confirmed here. |
| Château Miraval, France | Identified in portfolio coverage as an estate and winery associated with Pitt and Angelina Jolie. | An estate and business interest; current ownership arrangements and residence status are unresolved by these sources. |
| New Orleans | The couple’s French Quarter row house was reported sold for $4.9 million in 2016. | A historical sale, not a current holding. |
| New York City and Mallorca | Listed by Architectural Digest among places Pitt has owned residences. | Reported past property history; current ownership is not established. |
| Missouri | Lake of the Ozarks property story characterized as a rumor by Architectural Digest; it says public records were not found. | Unconfirmed; should not be presented as an established residence. |
Los Feliz: a long-associated home, a reported sale and a separate purchase
Architectural Digest reports that Pitt bought a Los Feliz home from Cassandra Peterson in 1994 for $1.7 million. The property grew into a larger compound, and the magazine says Pitt described it in a 2017 GQ interview as his children’s “childhood home.” That phrase conveys the family’s connection to the place at the time; it does not establish who owns or lives there now. Architectural Digest’s account and Realtor.com’s portfolio coverage place the Los Feliz residence among his past holdings.
#1 Best Overall
Architectural Digest later reported that the larger compound sold for $33 million. Its account distinguishes that property from a different, mid-century Los Feliz house Pitt reportedly acquired from Aileen Getty in 2023 for $5.5 million. The reported sale and purchase concern separate properties; neither report alone verifies present-day ownership. Architectural Digest’s transaction account provides the distinction.
A 2025 burglary report should not be used to fill the ownership gap. The Associated Press said four people were arrested in connection with a burglary at a Los Feliz home “reportedly owned” by Pitt, while police could not identify who owned or lived at the house. The AP report expressly leaves ownership and occupancy unconfirmed.

Other reported purchases and past holdings
Carmel, California
Realtor.com reported that Pitt bought a century-old coastal property in the Carmel area in 2022 for about $40 million. The report places the purchase in a broader portfolio history; it does not establish that he still owns or lives at the property. Realtor.com’s retrospective is the source for the reported deal and amount.
Hollywood Hills, Los Angeles
Realtor.com reported in 2025 that Pitt bought a Spanish-style Hollywood Hills property for about $12 million, attributing details to reporting and people familiar with the deal. This is a media-reported acquisition, not a current title search or proof of residence. Realtor.com’s report describes the transaction.

Château Miraval, France
Château Miraval is associated with Pitt and Angelina Jolie as both a large French estate and a winery. Those facts should not be compressed into a simple claim that it is Pitt’s current home: an estate, a business interest and personal residence are different matters. The coverage available here does not resolve current ownership arrangements or litigation status. Architectural Digest and Realtor.com include Miraval in their portfolio accounts.
New Orleans
The Los Angeles Times reported that the French Quarter row house shared by Pitt and Jolie sold for $4.9 million in 2016. That figure is a reported sale price for a historical transaction, not evidence of a present holding. The Los Angeles Times account also discussed Miraval and other shared property at that time.
Rank #4
New York, Mallorca and Missouri
Architectural Digest’s retrospective lists New York City and Mallorca among places where Pitt has owned residences, but the coverage does not establish that he retains property there. Its Missouri account is weaker: the Lake of the Ozarks story is described as rumored, with no public records found. Treat the former as reported past history and the latter as unconfirmed, not as a verified residence. Architectural Digest’s retrospective discusses these locations.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How to read the reported prices
The amounts below are figures reported by the named publications, not independently verified deed values or inflation-adjusted comparisons. Publication years are approximate where exact dates were not available in the source material.
| Reported transaction | Figure and date | Reporting source |
|---|---|---|
| Los Feliz purchase from Cassandra Peterson | $1.7 million (1994) | Architectural Digest retrospective, approximately 2023. |
| New Orleans French Quarter row-house sale | $4.9 million (2016) | Los Angeles Times (2016). |
| Carmel-area coastal-property purchase | About $40 million (2022) | Realtor.com retrospective, approximately 2022. |
| Sale of larger Los Feliz compound | $33 million (reported sale) | Architectural Digest retrospective, approximately 2023. |
| Separate Los Feliz mid-century-home purchase | $5.5 million (2023) | Architectural Digest retrospective, approximately 2023. |
| Hollywood Hills purchase | About $12 million (2025) | Realtor.com retrospective, approximately 2025. |
Because the coverage is retrospective and the underlying deed documents are not available here, these figures should be read as reported transaction amounts. In particular, the 2025 Hollywood Hills report relies on people familiar with the deal, and the Carmel report does not establish whether the property remains in Pitt’s hands.
