Archive note: This is a historical June 2023 deal roundup, not a list of verified offers available today. The accessible article page carries a June 16, 2025 date and displays prices, but it does not establish that those prices were available in June 2023. Treat them as prices shown on that later page, not confirmed historical sale prices. Check the retailer’s current price, model, condition, and return terms before buying.
What the listed prices do—and do not—tell you
The roundup page displays prices for Ring doorbells, Alarm kits, cameras, and outdoor lighting. It does not provide enough dated retailer evidence to confirm June 2023 sale prices, original prices, savings, coupons, memberships, or expiration dates. The values below are therefore useful as a record of what the later page showed, not proof of a June 2023 discount or a current deal. See the accessible roundup page.

|---|---|---|---|
| Doorbell | Ring Video Doorbell Wired | $65 | Displayed price only; retailer, date of price, discount, and offer terms are not stated on the accessible page. |
| Doorbell | Ring Video Doorbell 4 | $159 | Displayed price only; retailer, date of price, discount, and offer terms are not stated on the accessible page. |

| Alarm | Ring Alarm 5-piece, 2nd Gen | $139 | Displayed price only; retailer, date of price, discount, and offer terms are not stated on the accessible page. |
| Alarm | Ring Alarm Pro 8-piece | $209 | Displayed price only; retailer, date of price, discount, and offer terms are not stated on the accessible page. |
| Alarm | Ring Alarm Pro 14-piece | $265 | Displayed price only; retailer, date of price, discount, and offer terms are not stated on the accessible page. |
| Alarm | Ring Alarm 8-piece, 2nd Gen | $175 | Displayed price only; retailer, date of price, discount, and offer terms are not stated on the accessible page. |
| Alarm | Ring Alarm 14-piece, 2nd Gen | $229 | Displayed price only; retailer, date of price, discount, and offer terms are not stated on the accessible page. |
| Camera | Stick Up Cam Battery HD, 2-pack | $179 | Displayed price for a two-camera bundle; retailer, date of price, discount, and offer terms are not stated on the accessible page. |
| Camera | Ring Indoor Cam | $119 | Displayed price only; retailer, date of price, discount, and offer terms are not stated on the accessible page. |
| Lighting | Solar Pathlight | $34.99 | Displayed price only; retailer, date of price, discount, and offer terms are not stated on the accessible page. |
| Lighting | Solar Pathlight 4-pack with Bridge | $159 | Displayed price for a bundle that names a Bridge; retailer, date of price, discount, and offer terms are not stated on the accessible page. |
| Lighting | Solar Steplight | $29.99 | Displayed price only; retailer, date of price, discount, and offer terms are not stated on the accessible page. |
| Lighting | Solar Floodlight | $89.99 | Displayed price only; retailer, date of price, discount, and offer terms are not stated on the accessible page. |
| Lighting | Ring Smart Lighting listing | $39.99 | The exact product variant is not stated on the accessible page. |
Because the page does not establish a comparison price or an offer’s terms, it is not possible to calculate a defensible dollar or percentage saving from these figures. A low listed price is not by itself evidence of a good deal.

For a home with compatible doorbell wiring
The Ring Video Doorbell Wired is the budget-oriented option among the displayed doorbell prices. It is only a sensible fit if the location has suitable wiring and the circuit and existing chime meet the selected model’s requirements. Confirm compatibility before ordering; the displayed $65 price does not include any established installation or electrical-work cost.
For a door without usable wiring
A battery model such as the Video Doorbell 4 offers more placement flexibility than a wired-only model. That flexibility brings maintenance: consider how easily you can remove and recharge or replace its battery, and how traffic, weather, and cold conditions may affect charging frequency. The page’s $159 figure is not verified as a June 2023 offer.
For an apartment or rental
Ring’s Peephole Cam is identified in the roundup as an apartment-oriented option. Check whether it fits the door and peephole, whether your lease or building rules permit installation, and whether the camera’s view respects neighbors’ privacy. Do not assume that every doorbell can be installed without drilling or wiring.

For a basic alarm setup
The 5-piece Alarm kit is the smaller displayed bundle and may suit a modest entry-monitoring setup. Compare the actual contents—not just the piece count—with the doors, windows, and rooms you want to protect. Larger 8- and 14-piece packages make sense only if their included sensors and accessories will be used.
For several camera viewpoints
The two-pack Stick Up Cam Battery HD listing may suit someone planning multiple viewpoints, but compare its per-camera cost with current single-camera listings and verify what mounts or power accessories are included. Check the placement’s weather exposure, Wi-Fi signal, and access for battery maintenance before choosing a battery camera outdoors.
For pathway or security lighting
Solar Pathlights and Solar Steplights serve pathway illumination; a Solar Floodlight is a different type of security-lighting product. Solar models need adequate sunlight at their installed location, which can be a concern in shade or during darker seasons. The page’s 4-pack Pathlight listing names a Bridge, but the exact hub requirements for any other lighting model should be checked for that model before purchase.
Rank #3
- Capture it all with Retinal 4K video — See your home or business in the ultimate clarity with Retinal 4K.
- Zoom in up to 10x — Catch details at a distance with up to 10x Enhanced Zoom.
- See, hear and speak to visitors on camera — With Live View & Two-Way Talk with Audio+, you’ll be able to interact with who’s there in real time, right from your phone.
- Tailored detection for more exact alerts — 3D Motion Detection pinpoints motion on your property so you’ll receive more precise alerts and fewer interruptions.
- True color, even in low light — With Low-Light Sight, just a little ambient light gives you true color video. In total darkness, your camera switches to crisp black-and-white to keep details sharp.
“Smart bulbs” is not the same as Ring outdoor lighting
Although the headline uses “Smart Bulbs,” the accessible roundup lists solar pathlights, steplights, a floodlight, and a general Ring Smart Lighting product—not a clearly identified conventional indoor bulb. These outdoor products should not be treated as color-changing bulbs or as interchangeable fixtures. Ring’s lighting line can depend on a Bridge or another compatible Ring component; verify the requirement and what is included for the specific product.
Ring Protect: account for recurring costs
Ring devices can be used without a Protect plan, but plan-dependent recording and monitoring features can change the practical value of a hardware discount. Ring’s U.S. plan page currently lists the prices below; these are current page prices, not June 2023 prices. Plan availability, features, and pricing may differ by country and may change. Check Ring Protect plans.
| Plan shown on Ring’s U.S. page | Current listed price | Scope or distinction stated by Ring |
|---|---|---|
| Solo | $4.99/month or $49.99/year | One device. |
| Multi | $9.99/month or $99.99/year | All devices at one location. |
| Pro | $19.99/month or $199.99/year | Includes professional monitoring and advanced features. |
| Virtual Security Guard | $99/month | Availability and eligibility apply. |
Ring’s plan page also describes a 30-day trial for a device when first set up, subject to existing coverage and retailer-specific promotions, and up to 180 days of video event history under current plans. Neither figure should be read as a June 2023 term. Ring says plan coverage is location-based, so one address’s plan does not automatically cover another address. If a plan ends, cloud recordings may no longer be available; check Ring’s current retention terms and save any recordings you need before access expires.

What to expect without a plan
Ring says its products provide some features without a subscription. Depending on the model and settings, these can include Live View, notifications, two-way talk, and basic device operation. Cloud recording and replay, extended video history, some advanced alerts, and professional monitoring are commonly plan-dependent. Check the support and plan details for the exact model and generation rather than assuming every feature works the same way across the lineup.
Check installation, power, and compatibility before ordering
- Doorbell wiring: Confirm that a wired model is compatible with the existing transformer and chime. An underpowered or incompatible circuit can prevent reliable operation; wiring changes may call for a qualified installer.
- Battery access: Make sure a battery doorbell or camera can be removed for charging without undue difficulty. High traffic and cold weather can increase maintenance.
- Wi-Fi: Check signal strength at the actual door, camera, or alarm location. A strong connection elsewhere in the home does not guarantee reliable coverage at an exterior wall or detached area.
- Mounting surface: Masonry, stucco, metal doors, and unusual surfaces can require different tools, anchors, or mounts and can affect wireless range.
- Chime and accessories: Verify whether an existing mechanical or digital chime works with the exact doorbell. A separate Chime, Bridge, mount, battery, or solar accessory can change the total cost.
- Lighting placement: Check sunlight exposure for solar lights, and whether the light’s brightness and coverage suit the area. Do not assume a pathlight provides the same coverage as a floodlight.
- Smart-home functions: Ring devices are associated with Alexa, but supported features vary by device. Verify Google Home, Apple Home, Matter, and third-party support for the specific model and feature you intend to use; compatibility of one device does not establish compatibility across the product line.
Ring’s current plan page advertises professional installation starting at about $129.99 per device, with the actual price depending on the device and job. Treat that as a current starting signal, not a guaranteed quote or June 2023 price. Wiring modifications, masonry work, and unusual mounting may require a separate local installer.

A kit’s piece count does not mean that many doors or rooms are protected. A system typically includes central components such as a base station and keypad along with contact sensors, a motion detector, or other accessories, depending on the generation and bundle. Before choosing between 5-, 8-, and 14-piece kits, map the doors and windows you want covered and check exactly how many sensors are included.

- Pre-Capture Recording: Cloud subscribers benefit from pre-capture functionality, ensuring the camera starts recording right at the moment motion begins - never miss a thing
- Reliable 2.4GHz Wi-Fi Connection: Optimized for 2.4GHz networks to deliver stable, uninterrupted performance. (Not compatible with 5GHz Wi-Fi.)
- Exceptional Night Vision: Equipped with four powerful infrared LEDs and an advanced image sensor, providing sharp, detailed footage even in total darkness
- Check whether the kit includes a motion detector and enough contact sensors for your entry points.
- Decide whether you need another keypad or additional sensors, and include those costs in the comparison.
- Compare the Alarm 2nd Gen kits with Alarm Pro by the features you will use, not by price or piece count alone.
- Check compatibility with any Ring Alarm equipment you already own before mixing generations.
- If professional monitoring matters, verify plan eligibility, local permit rules, false-alarm requirements, and emergency-response terms for your address.
Compare cameras by placement and recording needs
Indoor cameras, battery cameras, and security lights with cameras solve different problems. An indoor-only camera should not be exposed to weather. A battery camera avoids a nearby outlet but requires charging access. A light-and-camera product can illuminate an approach, but its coverage and installation needs differ from a simple indoor camera.
- For indoor placement, consider privacy and who can access the account or shared camera.
- For outdoor placement, verify the product’s weather suitability, mounting position, and night visibility.
- For a multipack, compare price per camera and included accessories with the cost of buying separate units.
- Check whether the model supports the recording pattern you need; do not assume continuous recording or local storage.
- Include any subscription required for saved video in the total cost, not just the camera price.
A current Ring product page shows that the company continues to offer multiple camera variants and configurations, including Spotlight Cam Plus. That does not verify a historical deal or establish that a similarly named older model has the same specifications. See Ring’s Spotlight Cam Plus product page.
How to judge a Ring deal before buying
- Match the exact model and generation. Confirm the product name, power type, bundle size, and condition on the retailer listing; older generations are not automatically equivalent to current models.
- Verify the live checkout price. Check whether a coupon, membership, bundle, or limited promotion is required, and whether the offer is still in stock and available in your region.
- Compare the full cost. Add any plan, Chime, Bridge, sensor, mount, battery, wiring, or installation expense you actually need. A sale price alone cannot establish the lowest ownership cost.
- Read the retailer terms. Confirm return window, warranty, shipping, and whether the product is new, refurbished, or open-box. An unclear or substituted model can erase the value of a discount.
- Test the fit on paper first. Check wiring, Wi-Fi, mounting, battery access, sunlight, and smart-home compatibility at the planned location before committing.
Privacy and account safeguards
Place cameras so they capture the area you need without unnecessarily recording neighbors or shared spaces. Review shared-user permissions, secure the Ring account with two-factor authentication, and understand how long cloud video is retained under your plan. If recording visitors or public areas raises legal questions, check the rules that apply where you live rather than assuming a single nationwide standard.
For a construction or renovation project, resolve wiring, mounting surfaces, Wi-Fi coverage, and fixture placement before the relevant walls or exterior finishes are closed. That can prevent a discounted device from becoming a costly retrofit or a poor fit for the finished space.
