This curated selection instead highlights communities described as gated or guard-gated, or identified as gated in the cited sources, and distinguishes them by setting, amenities, and the strength of evidence for celebrity connections. A past homeowner is not proof of current residency, and some entries below are candidates whose access arrangements or celebrity associations need stronger local confirmation.
How to read this list
“Gated community” can mean a guarded entrance, controlled vehicle access, or a neighborhood described as gated; the terms are not interchangeable. The sources available for these examples do not establish a consistent access standard or a current, independently verified celebrity roster for all 15. Community and association pages are useful for their own descriptions; commercial guides and secondary references are leads rather than independent verification.

The list is editorial, not ranked. It groups together distinctive settings—from desert and mountain estates to golf, equestrian, and island communities—without treating home counts, prices, or celebrity status as comparable measures.
15 communities and what distinguishes them
1. Ascaya — Henderson, Nevada
Ascaya describes itself as a guard-gated residential community in the McCullough Mountain Range, about 20 minutes from the Las Vegas Strip. Its official site highlights custom desert-modern homes, a private clubhouse with dining and fitness facilities, a pool, tennis and pickleball, a family park, and maintained trails. Those are community self-descriptions; the cited page does not establish celebrity residency. Ascaya

2. Hidden Hills — Southern California
Hidden Hills is presented in a California guide as a rural, equestrian-oriented community with horse trails and ranch-style homes. The guide also makes celebrity associations, while a 1998 report discusses the town and historical celebrity residents. Treat those resident references as historical or as claims made by the guide—not evidence that a named person lives there now. 3. Southridge — South Palm Springs, California
The Southridge community association describes a 24-hour guard, panoramic mountain and valley views, and a history of celebrity homeowners, including Bob Hope, William Holden, and Steve McQueen. The association’s account supports a past-tense description of those homeowners, not a claim about who lives there today. Southridge community association
4. Indian Creek — Florida
A secondary reference describes Indian Creek as a gated village and golf-course community on an island. Its often-repeated “Billionaire Bunker” label and reported count of 41 residential home sites should not be treated as verified here: the cited material does not provide confirmation from village records or another primary local source. 5. Lyford Cay — New Providence, Bahamas
A secondary reference describes Lyford Cay as a private gated community and estimates about 450 homes. That figure and the community’s amenities are not independently established by a local primary source in the cited material, so regard them as orientation rather than verified current facts. 6. MacDonald Highlands — Henderson, Nevada
A Las Vegas-area brokerage guide includes MacDonald Highlands among the region’s luxury communities, in a discussion of golf, club amenities, and custom estates. The guide is useful for identifying the community, but its rankings, prices, and appreciation claims are brokerage material rather than independently established comparisons. 7. Anthem Country Club — Henderson, Nevada
The same brokerage guide names Anthem Country Club as one of the area’s gated-community options and discusses it in the context of golf and club amenities. Confirm current access arrangements and facilities locally; the guide does not provide an independent basis for ranking it against other communities. Las Vegas-area brokerage guide
Rank #3
8. Southern Highlands — Las Vegas, Nevada
Southern Highlands appears in the brokerage guide’s overview of Las Vegas-area communities, which differentiates options through golf, club amenities, and custom estates. The cited material does not make its comparisons an independent ranking or establish current home prices. Las Vegas-area brokerage guide

9. TPC Summerlin — Las Vegas, Nevada
The brokerage guide includes TPC Summerlin among the region’s luxury-community choices and discusses golf and club features as points of distinction. Its commercial comparisons should be read as a starting point for local inquiry, not as verified rankings or market data. Las Vegas-area brokerage guide
10. Lake Las Vegas — Henderson, Nevada
Lake Las Vegas is another community identified in the regional brokerage guide, which distinguishes it by a lake and resort character. Verify the particular neighborhood’s access rules and amenities directly, since the guide does not establish that every part of the broader area has the same gate arrangement. 11. Beverly Park — Los Angeles area, California
A California guide lists Beverly Park among the state’s gated-community examples and refers to features such as double gates. The cited material does not independently verify its current access arrangements or support a current celebrity-resident claim. California.com’s California gated-community guide
12. The Oaks — Los Angeles area, California
The California guide includes The Oaks among its examples and discusses gated-community features in the area, including clubhouses and equestrian paths. Those descriptions are leads to verify locally; they do not establish a current celebrity connection. California.com’s California gated-community guide

The Estates at The Oaks is separately named in the California guide. Because the cited material does not independently confirm the community’s present access status, amenities, or celebrity associations, treat its inclusion as a candidate rather than a fully verified profile. California.com’s California gated-community guide
14. Rolling Hills — Los Angeles County, California
The California guide lists Rolling Hills among gated-community examples and mentions features such as equestrian paths. The guide is not sufficient by itself to confirm current access arrangements or celebrity residency; those details require local, up-to-date confirmation. California.com’s California gated-community guide
15. Bel Air Crest and Coto de Caza — California
The California guide also names Bel Air Crest and Coto de Caza, with features such as clubhouses and golf appearing in its broader descriptions. The available material does not independently verify each community’s current legal or access status, or a current celebrity connection. These are therefore best treated as additional candidates, not as fully substantiated profiles. California.com’s California gated-community guide
Quick Recap
What the examples do—and do not—show
- Access varies: A 24-hour guard, a guard-gated residential community, and a place described by a secondary source as gated are different levels of evidence. Check the specific neighborhood’s current rules rather than assuming the label means the same thing everywhere.
- Amenities are not interchangeable: The examples span golf and club facilities, equestrian features, mountain and desert settings, and a lake or island context. A feature mentioned by a commercial guide is not independently verified simply because it appears in a community list.
- Celebrity links need dates and attribution: Southridge’s association describes historical homeowners, and the 1998 report on Hidden Hills is historical. Neither establishes present-day residency. A home sale or an undated listicle likewise cannot establish where someone currently lives.
- Numbers and market claims are limited: The 41-site figure for Indian Creek and roughly 450-home estimate for Lyford Cay come from secondary references and lack primary confirmation in the cited material. The brokerage guide’s prices and appreciation statements are volatile commercial claims, not comparable verified statistics.
How to verify a community before relying on a listing
- Identify the exact place. Confirm the municipality, community association, and specific neighborhood; a large development or resort area may contain sub-communities with different rules.
- Ask who controls access. Check whether entry is guarded, electronically controlled, or simply described as gated, and whether those arrangements apply to the address in question.
- Confirm amenities with the operator or association. Club access, facilities, and use rules may differ by residence, membership, or current policy.
- Separate resident history from current occupancy. Use dated, attributable reporting for past associations. Do not infer a person’s present home from a past sale or a generic celebrity list.
- Check current housing and governance details locally. Prices, availability, association rules, and access policies can change; a local real estate professional or the relevant association is better positioned to confirm current particulars.
