Yoomiily is a portable shower-and-dryer concept designed to spray a fine mist and recover used water with suction, with the aim of letting people wash without leaving a conventional shower’s puddle. But its headline “world’s first” status and performance claims have not been independently verified, and a January 2025 report said Kickstarter had suspended its funding campaign. Current availability and delivery are unconfirmed.
How Yoomiily is supposed to work
New Atlas described Yoomiily as a roughly 4 kg (9 lb) unit that pumps water from a 3-liter fresh-water tank to a shower head as a fine mist. A second pump is said to draw moisture back into the device, where used water is held separately. The makers described interchangeable heads for different tasks, including washing human hair and pets. These are maker-reported features, not independently verified findings. New Atlas reported them in 2024.
The “world’s first” label is product positioning: the available reporting does not establish that Yoomiily was first, and New Atlas said it could not attest to the device’s abilities.
What the makers claim about water, drying and battery life
As reported by New Atlas in 2024, the makers claimed that a short-hair shampoo uses 100 ml of water and that the system is 90% more water-efficient than a traditional shower. They also claimed users are left around 90% dry, a full-body wash takes a couple of minutes, and short-hair shampooing takes about one minute. The source provides no test method or independent measurements to substantiate these figures.

Who it is intended for—and what that does not establish
The proposed use cases include camping and travel where shower facilities are difficult to access, caregiving, mobility-related needs, and washing while keeping some areas of the body dry. The makers also suggested it could let someone wash their hair while clothed or clean a dog that dislikes water. These are intended uses, not evidence that the product is suitable for medical care or wound care. The available reporting includes no hygiene validation or safety assessment.

Historical crowdfunding price and campaign status
New Atlas reported a US$249 basic-unit crowdfunding offer in 2024, described then as 56% below a stated retail price. The reported bundle included the unit, suction cups for long-hair or pet washing and short-hair washing, one special shampoo, one special body wash, and 10 cleaning pads. The article also listed US shipping at US$32 and a two-year warranty. Those were historical campaign terms, not current prices or purchase conditions.
In an update dated January 29, 2025, New Atlas said Kickstarter had suspended the campaign’s funding about five months earlier. The report recounted that the creators had said they were working with Kickstarter to resolve the matter and that backers would not be charged; that response was already about four months old at the time of the update. The article did not confirm a resolution. It also does not establish whether Yoomiily was manufactured, delivered to backers, or put on sale. Do not treat marketplace availability as confirmed.
