What Xiaomi launched

In everyday use, the practical load will depend on the size of plates, cookware, glasses and utensils; bulky pots and pans can reduce the usable capacity considerably.

The commonly quoted 2,799-yuan figure should not be treated as the dishwasher’s permanent retail price.

Contemporary English-language coverage described 2,799 yuan as roughly US$400, but that was a period-specific approximation rather than a current exchange-rate conversion. Xiaomi’s present price, stock status and international availability are not established by the available evidence.
What the 99.999% sterilization claim means
The “99% sterilization” wording understates and also simplifies the reported specification. The launch reports said Xiaomi claimed a 99.999% sterilization rate during a 75°C high-temperature sterilization wash.

That number needs careful interpretation:
- It applies to the specified high-temperature cycle, not automatically to every washing program.
- It is Xiaomi’s stated claim, not a result independently verified in the available reports.
- The sources do not identify the test laboratory, organisms tested, exposure time, loading pattern, detergent conditions or certification documentation.
- “Sterilization,” “disinfection” and “bacterial reduction” are technical terms that should not be treated as interchangeable.
- The claim does not prove that every surface or item in a fully loaded dishwasher reaches the same temperature or reduction level.
A meaningful assessment would require details such as the tested organisms, starting contamination level, water temperature at relevant surfaces, exposure duration and whether the result applied to the whole load or selected test surfaces. Without that information, 99.999% is best understood as a product-marketing claim describing the intended high-temperature cycle—not proof of medical-grade sterilization or guaranteed real-world results.
Cleaning hardware and programs
Xiaomi advertised 11 washing programs, although the available launch sources do not provide a reliable mode-by-mode list. Program names and availability could also depend on Chinese-market firmware or companion-app support, so it would be misleading to invent a detailed cycle list.

- Three rotating spray arms.

- Automatic door opening during drying to encourage airflow.
- Residual-heat condensation.
The door reportedly closes again after the drying process, which is intended to limit exposure to dust, insects and possible secondary contamination. A closed door does not make the interior hermetically sealed.
Automatic opening also creates installation requirements. The kitchen must provide enough clearance for the door’s movement and for escaping heat and steam. Cabinet materials and nearby surfaces should be suitable for that environment. Drying will vary by material as well: ceramic and metal items generally behave differently from plastic containers, which commonly retain more water.
Because the available reports do not establish cabinet dimensions, electrical requirements or plumbing specifications, installers should obtain those details from the seller or an official manual before planning a built-in installation.

Is it available outside mainland China?
International availability is not verified. An indexed Xiaomi China product URL associated with the N1 now resolves to an unrelated Redmi television product, so it cannot confirm current stock or pricing. The historical JD listing is gated by a verification layer and likewise does not establish a current offer.

Overseas buyers should therefore treat imported units as unsupported until the seller confirms all of the following:
- Official sale and warranty coverage in the buyer’s country.
- Voltage, plug type and circuit requirements for the China-market model.
- Local delivery, plumbing and installation support.
- Compatibility of the Mijia or Xiaomi Home app with the buyer’s region.
- Control and notification language options.
- Availability of filters, spray arms, racks, seals, pumps and other replacement parts.
- Whether the 75°C cycle is present in the shipped firmware.
- Cabinet dimensions and clearance requirements for automatic door opening.
- A valid invoice, return process and service contact.
Who the Mijia N1 made sense for
The dishwasher was most relevant to mainland-China buyers who could access local installation and after-sales service, particularly households wanting a large advertised capacity, a high-temperature wash and compatibility with an existing Mijia smart-home setup.
It was a less suitable proposition for buyers who needed a currently supported appliance in the United States or another overseas market, confirmed English-language software, local warranty coverage or independently verified sterilization performance. Kitchens with limited door clearance also require particular caution.
Bottom line
The Mijia N1 was a real Xiaomi/Mijia dishwasher launch, but the relevant event was the April 24, 2023 mainland-China presale. Its reported specifications included 16 place settings, 11 programs, three spray arms, 44 jets and a 75°C high-temperature cycle. Xiaomi claimed that cycle could achieve 99.999% sterilization. The 2,799-yuan figure was a promotional presale price against a reported 2,999-yuan list price, and neither current global availability nor independent validation of the hygiene claim is established.
