Its main drawback is price. Whether it is worth buying depends less on the chair itself and more on whether you will spend a high four-figure sum on an office seat and on the configuration and date of the listing you are looking at. Reviewers who tested it said it is comfortable and well made, but too expensive for many buyers.
What the X-Tech is
X-Chair’s current product page identifies the model as the X-Tech Ultimate Executive Office Chair. Its listed features include a headrest, a gel memory foam seat, and roller-style wheels, but the chair is sold in several configurations, so the exact features depend on the version you buy. The limited-edition collection page lists those items as included upgrades and gives the seat width as 22 inches.
Materials and build
The materials are a mix of upholstery types, and the manufacturer’s descriptions are its own rather than independent durability test results.
Seat, backrest and headrest
X-Chair says Brisa vegan leather covers the seat, backrest and headrest. The company describes Brisa as a gel-polymer material with a ventilation system. Its product page also lists a cooling gel contoured M-Foam seat.

Lumbar area
The lumbar section is covered in A.T.R. woven nylon. X-Chair describes this fabric as water, spill and stain resistant. Its Dynamic Variable Lumbar support is described as moving with the sitter rather than holding one fixed shape.
Lumbar heat and massage
Some configurations add a heat and massage lumbar unit. Windows Central’s 2022 review tested a configuration with the Elemax heat and massage lumbar portion. TechRadar’s January 2026 review describes the chair’s heated, cooling and massaging lumbar functions. Confirm whether the option is included before you compare prices, because the base chair without it costs less.

BGR: 8 out of 10
Christian de Looper rated the chair 8 out of 10 in a review published on March 29, 2025. He listed high-end build, comfort, adjustability and ease of assembly as strengths. His main reservation was price. He wrote: “The X-Chair X-Tech is incredibly pricey, but it’s also comfortable and offers a great build.” He recommended it for buyers who can afford to spend heavily on an office chair.
Windows Central: daily use
Cale Hunt reported in Windows Central that X-Chair supplied his review unit. He used it daily for a couple of months, found it comfortable, and named the headrest as its weakest feature. That review is from 2022, so its prices and configuration are historical.

TechRadar: lumbar functions
Collin Probst reported a positive experience with the heated, cooling and massaging lumbar functions. He also noted the premium price. His review reported an official-site sale price of $1,568 in January 2026.

Because configurations and discounts differ, compare two listings only when they show the same included features, such as the headrest, the lumbar heat and massage unit, and the wheel type.

Warranty and ownership
X-Chair’s warranty policy covers eligible office chairs bought through its website or an official dealer or retailer. The coverage is:
- Five years for parts and materials
- Fifteen years for non-moving metal frame components
The policy describes defect-related coverage and lists exclusions. It does not promise that every form of wear, damage or performance issue is covered. Claims for damage or missing items must be made within 30 days of receipt, so check the chair as soon as it arrives.
How to compare it with other premium chairs
Windows Central names the Steelcase Leap and the Herman Miller Aeron as alternatives. Because current like-for-like prices are not established in the sources, compare the following before deciding:
- Configured price, including any lumbar heat or massage unit
- Seat dimensions and fit for your body size
- Range of adjustments, particularly recline, lumbar and tilt tension
- Material preference, such as vegan leather or mesh
- Warranty length and what it covers
- Retailer return and service terms
Windows Central reported that the reviewed X-Tech could be bought from Amazon, but listings and configurations change, so verify the exact item before ordering.
Is it right for you?
- It suits you if you want a chair with broad adjustment, a comfortable seat and a well-built frame, and you can justify the price for daily use.
- It may not suit you if your budget is much lower, if you need a specific seat width or recline range that you have not confirmed, or if you value a particular material such as mesh over vegan leather.
- Check first whether the heat and massage lumbar unit is included, since it changes the price substantially.
The X-Tech earns praise for build and comfort. Its price is the deciding factor for most buyers.
