The approval covers a supermarket, restaurants and cafes, and child care premises. It does not by itself mean construction has started or that the centre has opened, and the records reviewed for October 2026 do not confirm either.

The application is DAP/24/02746. The Development Assessment Panels register gives its lodged date as 20 August 2024. The decision record names the sites as 1022–1032 Albany Highway and 355–357 Shepperton Road, East Victoria Park, and lists the approved uses as shops including a supermarket, restaurants and cafes, and child care premises.

The application reached a formal determination. Earlier coverage described it while it was still open for public comment, so the 2024 descriptions should be read as the proposal at that stage rather than the approved position.

The applicant’s own description, reproduced in that report, said the building was designed with architectural and planning merit and would deliver convenience retail, community services, local amenity and day and night-time activity. That is the applicant’s wording, not an independent planning finding.

Access from Albany Highway is restricted to left-in and left-out movements. The detailed measures that enforce this must be submitted and implemented to the local government’s satisfaction before the development is occupied.
Parking bays converted to an eastbound lane
The adjacent on-street parking bays on Albany Highway must be removed and converted to an extended lane for eastbound vehicle movement.

Local business response
Earlier reporting quoted two proprietors of Vietnamese Delight, a nearby restaurant. Quang Pham said: “There was a plan a few years ago but for some reason it stopped.” Mai Nguyen said: “I think when the building is here, we will be busier; a lot of customers.” Both expected a supermarket to bring more customers to their own and neighbouring cafes and restaurants.
These are expectations voiced before the decision. They do not establish how the centre will affect nearby trade, and they are not a measure of community opinion.
