WOOD Store’s “Do-it-all Drill-press Table Woodworking Plan” is a downloadable plan for building a drill-press table, not a prebuilt table or kit. Its listing describes a large work surface, an adjustable fence for repeatable accuracy, quick-action hold-downs, and accessory storage. It does not provide the plan’s dimensions or full material details, so review the downloadable document before buying lumber or hardware.
What the plan includes
The WOOD Store listing presents the table as a way to make drilling more accurate and convenient. Its stated features are:
- A large work surface.
- An easy-to-adjust fence intended to support repeatable accuracy.
- Quick-action hold-downs.
- Storage for accessories.
The plan was featured in WOOD Issue 242, October 2016. WOOD Store’s listing was updated January 8, 2024. WOOD Store plan listing.
What to verify in the downloadable plan
The listing does not state the table’s finished dimensions, complete cut list, specific hardware sizes, compatible drill-press models, or build time. Those specifications need to come from the plan itself; do not assume measurements or materials from another drill-press table design will apply.

#1 Best Overall
- Expanded Work Support: This drill press table adds a 23-5/8 x 15 x 1 in MDF surface over an existing cast-iron table, providing more room to support and position wood workpieces during drilling
- Reposition the Drill Press Fence with More Control: Low-friction tape reduces direct contact between the 23-1/2 in aluminum fence and MDF surface, while the guide bar and bearings help guide movement during adjustment
- Set Repeated Hole Locations with Less Re-Measuring: Use the insert reference line to relate the fence to the drill-bit position, then set the flip stop as an end reference for similar workpieces
- Clamps And Replaceable Insert: Two 15 in T-tracks position the included 0–2-1/2 in hold-down clamps. Replace the worn 4 x 4 x 3/8 in sacrificial insert with 3/8 in plywood or MDF, then use the four leveling screws to set it flush
- Check the finished dimensions and how the table attaches to your drill press.
- Confirm the cut list, material thicknesses, and hardware before purchasing supplies.
- Review the fence and hold-down details to understand how the workpiece will be positioned and secured.
How it differs from other drill-press table designs
Other plans and designs illustrate features worth comparing, but they do not establish what the WOOD Store plan contains.
| Design | Features described by its source | How to use the comparison |
|---|---|---|
| WOOD Store Do-it-all plan | Large work surface, adjustable fence, quick-action hold-downs, and accessory storage. The listing does not specify an insert or dust-collection system. | Check the downloadable plan for dimensions, materials, and any details not shown in the listing. WOOD Store listing. |
| Walter Baziuk’s Fine Woodworking design | Two layers of Baltic birch, a sliding insert, and T-tracks for the fence and accessories. Baziuk says his tracks, knobs, and T-bolts came from Lee Valley. | Its insert and track arrangement are features of Baziuk’s design, not confirmed specifications for the WOOD Store plan. | Woodsmith Drill Press Table With Storage plan | The Woodpeckers listing describes a removable insert for sanding drums, fence tracks, a stop-block track, and a dust-collector port. It is offered as a downloadable PDF or printed plan. | Consider these features if insert versatility or dust collection matters to your build. They are not established features of the WOOD Store plan. Woodpeckers listing. |
| Shop Nation digital plan | Its listing describes integrated dust collection, a removable worktop, drawer storage, a fence design, and universal mounting. | This is another distinct plan; its features should not be attributed to the WOOD Store design. Shop Nation plan listing. |
Decide which features matter for your shop
Before choosing a plan, prioritize the jobs you expect the table to handle. A fence and hold-downs address positioning and securing work; a removable or sliding insert can be useful when you want to replace the surface around the drilling area; dust collection and storage are separate design considerations. The comparison plans show that these features vary, so confirm each one in the actual plan rather than inferring it from the phrase “do-it-all.”

- Expand your workspace by 275 square inches (23-7/8 inch width, 11-7/8 inch depth)
- Spacious table measures in at 23-7/8 x 11-7/8 x 1 inches
- Fits any drill press table between 5 and 16 inches in width
- Designed to fit the entire WEN Drill Press Series
For example, Walter Baziuk describes the purpose of the insert in his own design: “The insert lets me maintain zero clearance under any drilling operation.” That statement applies to Baziuk’s sliding-insert design, not to the WOOD Store plan.

T-tracks, knobs, and T-bolts appear in Baziuk’s separate design, but the WOOD Store listing does not establish that its plan requires them. If you are considering a drill-press table T-track kit, verify the WOOD plan’s material list and match the hardware to the track specified there. The listing alone does not confirm hardware dimensions or compatibility.
