Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsA drill-press table with a fence gives you a larger flat work surface, a fence to hold stock square and at a set distance, and a removable insert for through-drilling or sanding. Whether a given table will work on your machine depends less on the brand than on three things: the swing of your drill press, the table’s footprint and how it clamps to the machine, and any model exclusions the maker publishes. Check those first, then compare the features that matter for your work.
What an auxiliary drill-press table adds
A replacement or auxiliary table typically changes four things on a drill press:
- Work surface. A wider, deeper top supports larger panels and keeps clamps off the factory table.
- A fence. A fence positions stock repeatedly, which is the practical reason most buyers want one.
- Tracks or stop features. T-tracks and flip stops let you clamp hold-downs and stops without drilling new holes in the table.
- A removable insert. An insert opening lets a bit or sanding drum pass through the table, and a replaceable insert lets you refresh the center after it wears.
Manufacturers describe these features as improving accuracy, speed and safety. Those are the makers’ claims. The product pages reviewed for this article do not include independent measurements that confirm those outcomes, so treat them as the vendor’s description of intended use.
Check fit before you compare features
A table that looks like a bargain is useless if it does not clear your machine. Work through these checks in order.

- Find your drill press’s swing rating in the owner’s manual or on its specification plate. Swing is generally understood as twice the distance from the column centerline to the spindle centerline; confirm the figure your manufacturer uses.
- Compare that swing with the table’s stated requirement. The Veritas small table calls for a drill press with at least 12-inch swing, and the Veritas large table calls for at least 14-inch swing.
- Measure the top of your existing table and the clearance under the spindle when the quill is fully lowered. A larger top may hit the column, the base, or the depth stop.
- Confirm how the table attaches. The listings describe universal table clamps or mounting hardware, but the clamping points on your machine decide whether they reach.
- Read the exclusions. Grizzly lists two 20-inch floor drill presses, the G7948 and T33904, as incompatible with its H7827 table, despite the universal label.
- Match the insert opening to the largest bit or drum you plan to use, and confirm that replacement inserts are available for that table.
Options compared by manufacturer specification
The table below lists the figures each maker publishes. Where a listing does not state a value, the cell reads “not stated” rather than a guess. Confirm current dimensions on the maker’s page before ordering, because listings can change.

Veritas small table
The smallest option suits a press with a modest swing and limited bench space. Its 14-inch fence covers many shop jobs, and its 10 1/2 × 15 1/2 inch top leaves little room for wide panels, so check that the stock you actually drill fits.
Rank #2
- Grip woods, metals, plastics and more
- Cast iron construction provides stability to drilling
- 4 in. jaws open up to 4 in. with a 1 in. throat depth
- Includes four onboard mounting slots to securely fasten the vise to a drill press table
- Universal design compatible with the majority of drill presses on the market (see images for base dimensions)
Veritas large table
The larger Veritas top gives more room for clamping and for holding panels flat, and it adds two more dog holes than the small table. Its stated swing requirement is higher, so it is the wrong choice for a press with a 12-inch swing even if the top would fit.
Grizzly T32710
This is the most fully specified option in the table. It has the widest fence, two stops for repeatable positioning, and two insert slots. Because the maker gives no swing figure, check the top against the column and base of your machine before ordering. The one-year warranty is the maker’s stated coverage.
Rank #3
- Non-Slip & Stable: Designed with anti-slip textured jaws, this drill press vise delivers up to 7KN of clamping force to hold workpieces securely. It effectively resists slipping, ensuring steady performance for drilling, engraving, grinding, and more
- Durable Construction: Crafted from quality cast iron with high hardness, this bench vise is impact-resistant and built to last. Its solid structure helps it withstand high-strength use over time
- Easy Installation: Designed with dual long slots on both sides, this machinist vise allows for quick mounting and precise positioning of workpieces. No worry about difficult setup or wrong positioning, making your work more efficient and convenient
- Effort-Saving Handle: This cast iron drill press vise comes with a labor-saving handle to adjust the jaws easily, providing a stable grip on different workpiece sizes and shapes. It allows your work to progress more smoothly and efficiently
- Wide Compatibility: This workbench vise is ideal for milling machines, drilling machines, shaping machines, and surface grinders. With strong versatility, it meets diverse processing needs and serves as a reliable assistant for you
Grizzly H7827
This table is the shallowest of the Grizzly options and carries the clearest exclusion. If you own a 20-inch floor drill press, the maker says it is not compatible with the G7948 or T33904. Its fence is short, so it suits small-part work better than long-stock work.
Lee Valley drill press table and fence
The Lee Valley table has the most complete accessory set in the comparison: a split fence, a dust port, a movable stop, one insert and a hold-down. Its 26-inch fence matches the Grizzly T32710. The vendor’s product page describes it this way:
Rank #4
- Designed for applications including drilling, tapping and reaming
- Low profile clearance for increased working room on machine table
- Hardened V-grooved jaws hold round-shaped objects both vertically and horizontally
- Durable construction with fine grain cast iron castings and hardened steel vise jaws
- Backed by Wilton's industry-leading limited lifetime warranty
“This auxiliary table and fence greatly expand the capabilities of your drill press, improving accuracy, speeding production work, and increasing safety.”
That is Lee Valley’s own description of the product.

Infinity Tools Plycore table
Infinity’s official page describes a table-only option, a fence sold separately, and replacement inserts. This suits a reader who already has a suitable fence or wants to replace only the top. Because the table-only option does not come with a fence, add the fence cost and confirm that the two parts are sized to fit each other.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Safety guidance
Lee Valley’s small-table page instructs users to disconnect the drill press from power before mounting or adjusting the table. It also advises keeping the table surface and fence faces clear of chips so stock sits flat. Follow those steps, then follow the drill-press owner’s manual and the table’s own instructions for mounting and clamping. Do not clamp a table to a machine in a way the manual does not describe.
How to choose among them
- Swing is the first filter. Eliminate any table whose stated swing requirement or exclusion list rules out your machine.
- Choose top size by your largest regular stock. Measure the panels and clamps you actually use, not just the top’s footprint.
- Choose the fence for the job. A 14-inch fence serves small parts. A 20- to 26-inch fence serves longer stock and repeatable spacing.
- Choose inserts and tracks for the bits you run. Confirm the insert opening fits your largest bit or drum and that replacement inserts are available.
- Consider a parts path if your table is sound. A fence or insert replacement can meet the need without a full table swap.
Specifications here are the manufacturers’ published figures, not independent test results. Recheck each maker’s listing before you buy, since sizes, inclusions and compatibility statements can change.
